Worked in hydroponics additionally growing up, as a vital part of his ships survivability. Naturally applied for the research division in NanoTransen, with a decent bias in hiring due to his race. Qualifications: Research, "growing some pretty wicked plants", and "opening the doors that AI refused to". Employment Records: Tends to know what he's doing, if breaking a few laws or standard procedures. Security Records: If assistant, keep a close eye on him. Likely committing victimless crimes that have a high chance of getting himself hurt rather than others, but against the law nonetheless. Intentions are usually "being bored", not malice. Medical Records: Healthy, young male grey. Will accept anesthetics in most cases. Personnel Photo (Appearance text): Very noticable pink eyes, for better or worse. Moments later after his stepfather found him he was taken to the hopistality, and luckly did not lose his eye, which now in the present is the scar which he has in his forehead. One time while working in the nanotrasen space navy, he had his left hand cut up by the wrist by a rebel of the USSP, resulted in major blood loss and almost died, his hand was reattached as quickly as possible and had no infection, which results in the scar he has right now, the rebel of the USSP, terrorist, was incarcerated after being caught, and aggresively mike beated him to death without the aparent intent to kill him but just rough him up. So changing my character's refrence pictures every few hours wasn't enough for me, and honestly so much shit happens in this game that I can't NOT want to draw it. First up though have a sparkly birb! And part 35432 of Sam has a Bad Day; Shadowling Edition! Stay out of maintenance, kids. I really wanted to draw a creepy looking shadowling, and of course I needed a handy victim. Not pictured - hapless bystanders coughRynnt that try to help and get rekt. Change the second sentence in the HoP's description to: "Issue job transfers and manage the crew manifest." Add "Oversee station repairs, construction projects, and the power grid." to the CE's description. Remove the "entire" from the RD's description, merge the two sentences with an "and", and change "standards" to "SOP". Add "Give advice to command regarding SOP." to the NTR's description, and remove the apostrophe from "it's". Change "or" to "and" in the magistrate's description. Change "any" to "all" in the BS's description. Change the warden's description to: "Oversee the brig and its prisoners, make sure security records are up-to-date, and issue gear from the armory." Replace the comma with an "and" in the pod pilot's description. Bump the difficulty up to "Hard" in order to keep it in line with the rest of security. Remove "Harass Central Command" from the IAA's description, and replace it with "Get ignored by everyone." Change the second sentence to: "Cooperate with the magistrate and Nanotrasen representative to ensure Space Law and SOP are enforced." The brig physician's description says that suicidal prisoners should be brought to the psych, but neither the psych or brig phys page mention suicidal prisoners. Change the first sentence of the description to: "Provide medical aid for security, including prisoners and visitors." Replace "Make" with "Construct", and decapitalize "Station" in the mechanic's description. I'm not sure what "Turn the borgs into swiss cheese when they get uppity" in the atmos tech's description means. It sounds like it falls under the RD's description, if anything. Change the MD's description to: "Attempt to provide medical aid for the crew, then cry as people steal all the medicine from the fridge. Preform surgeries and save lives." Change the virologist's description to: "Create beneficial viruses for the crew, cure epidemics, and get lynched for allegedly spreading the common cold. Be a neat-freak." Replace "discover ancient treasures" with "synthesize dangerous chemicals" in the scientist's description. Change the janitor's description to "Mop up dirt and assistant blood. Have your pimpin' ride stolen by a vox. Get lynched for not using space cleaner." Change the assistant's description to "Visit the station. Be an easily disposable greyredshirt. Attempt to provide assistance, get into fights anyways." Asking for grammar checks, as well as sanity checks on the more humorous descriptions.1 point

Preface: Okay, so in response to the very clear want for changes to vampire mechanics, I made the following PR: https://github.com/ParadiseSS13/Paradise/pull/7462 Now, this PR was initially to prevent cheese which made the life of people trying to get their blood in the intended way even harder to to elevated security and valid hunters caused by these 5 minute screamers. While I think vampires are in a tolerable state, they have several flaws to their design that come together to create something that's too weak in the early game, requiring external robustness rather than use of powers to be effective, that turns into a monster once it's arbitrarily priced powers are unlocked. This Thread is intended to host the rebalance discussion. The goals of the redesign: Give the vampire an early game tool that can't be abused against readied players once discovered Make ability unlocks fit the ramping power and aggression themes vampires are supposed to have Reward better execution of captures with faster ramping without making imperfect captures prohibitively harmful. Requires both caster and victim to stand still for duration of cast time. Upon success, target is stunned and muted for a short time (roughly enough time to strip a headset if you're near them when you cast.) Has long CD on success, but no blood cost. Additionally, wearing flash protection blocks the visible message for the vampire, but roughly doubles cast time New hypnotize allows vampire to play more into the roll of subtle dissident in the early game for the first kill or two before people wise up to their shenanigans. Note that this ability can't be used on moving targets or while stunned or blindfolded. It's also not particularly effective if you can't make people stop to do something like talking, for instance. Get out there and RP your victim into an early grave. Blood counts for abilities focus on deception and stealth early with aggressive abilities unlocking later. Additionally, two perfect kills or three imperfect kills are now needed to mist which should reinforce the stealth aspect of the vampire in the early to midgame while not fully denying a wellplayed set of kills granting higher powers. Full power now requires about three perfect kills. This is due to the inability to accurately test a full power vamp short of spacing. Overall, this should be more representative of the intent for the vamp to ramp up in power and thus aggression over time. It still punishes poor play early, but vampires have always had the weakness of being a tator without gear in the early game. If played right, this would mean a vampire is capable of being self sufficient against isolated targets that it can convince to stop running around. The actual stun time here is also important, perhaps scaling inversely with range, or even scaling cast time with range so that being closer results in faster casts at the cost of subtlety.1 point

This has probably been brought up in the past and is probably a pain in the ass code wise, but I figure I'd ask. Is it possible to make a preference option that makes it so your character can be randomized if you spawn as an antag? Kind of like how you are a completely different person a nuke op? Im literally only asking because I don't like when my snowflake is an antag, but enjoy antagging. Is this something I could ask an admin for at round start? Also asking because anyone who knows my toon KNOWS I only work sec and medbay, so when I randomly spawn as a bartender or engineer, some people will know something is up lol It's okay if the only response is "suck it up" lol1 point

I totally feel that about seeing people even if you don't interact. Just noticing some people regularly and sometimes being noticed by other people is rad. It feels like I'm actually part of a crew of people working on a station together. Every shift another work day. Every time I dont see someone I normally play with, they took a vacation or sick day. Thinking of things like that help add to my immersion and stuff.1 point

I should be working right now, but I want to give my two cents as a security player. Vampires are very underpowered, but excel in movement. Maybe we could push that aspect even further? Oh, and make vampires actually burn in space. The burn damage right now is laughable.1 point
