  2. I know the admins have talked about this in the past, so I figured I would throw out my own thoughts: With the advent of augmentations being added to the game after already being overburdened as the medbay for a portion of the crew (See: IPCs, Silicons and people with prosthetic.) It's time for a division: Roboticst: Bots like Beepskys and Cleanbots Mechs Silicons Management, repair. (Borging) Cyberneticist: Prosthetic limb installation and Maintenance Augmentation Installation All Implant management IPC Maintenance and recovery With these in mind, here's what a cyberneticist needs: A Protolathe with research console to print implants. (Robotics can have access to this one, instead of having to build their own or requiring extra access for R&D's) An Exosuit Fabricator to print limbs and implants (Remove one of them from robotics) A Cyborg Analyzer and Medical Scanner A Surgery Table with computer, anesthetic, spray cleaner, gloves. A bag of surgery tools A standard stocked toolbelt A welding fuel tank and lots of cable coil Standard Operating Procedure: Repair IPCs that are placed before you. Triage based on damage if overwhelmed. "Do they actually need my help (Component damage?), or are they just being lazy?" Give prosthetic replacements for anyone missing a limb that needs one. If it's an optional surgery (CUT MY ARM OFF AND REPLACE IT) then take stock of resources first. Use anesthetic for anything more in depth than prosthetic application. Augmentations and implants are serious. Augmented Limbs for Security, Command, and Mining only. Implants are doled out based on appropriate usage. Engineers get Welding Shield and Toolset arms. Security gets SecHud and Xray. Assistants have no appropriate usage for anything. Do not give implants or augmentations to Assistants. Additional notes: Though the shop would, like most other science departments, benefit from an Autolathe and chem boards, they can build that themselves. A YouTool machine would probably do some good to be added in Robotics or Cybernetics. In times of crisis, Robotics and Cybernetics obviously have some cross pollination. Are there a bunch of borgs needing repair and replacement components? Are there a lot of dead IPCs? Distribute the work. Access between the roles would be identical. There is one item I'd like to be made available to traitor cyberneticists, and that would be the cyber-implanted E-sword or Combat Module (that contains Esword, stunbaton, flash, and Medibeam.). The problem with this however is you would have to have someone else implant it. Which is.. questionable. The hardlight blade can also acts as an emag and can break down non-reinforced walls.

  4. Name: Jebediah Age: 30 years since reactivation (true age unknown). Gender: Male. Race: IPC. Blood Type: Oil. General Occupational Role(s): Roboticist, Scientist, Research Director, Engineer, Janitor, and Shaft Miner. Biography: In 2537, an explorer and scavenger named Zeke Davis found a crashed ship on an unknown desert planet. In the wreckage, he discovered a severely damaged and non-functional IPC. Zeke, tired of traveling alone, used his knowledge in robotics and engineering to get the Positronic Brain functioning again, and he was even able to create a spiderbot body for it. He decided to name the brain "Jebediah," after his favorite uncle who had died decades ago. Jebediah spent the next 15 years exploring with Zeke, meanwhile learning the basics of robotics and engineering. Over the first 7 years, the duo were able to gather enough parts to give Jeb a new body, although almost none of his parts matched. In their 12th year together, Jeb decided to adopt his current purple paint job and rainbow monitor. Zeke protested slightly, saying that the colors were a little too gaudy, but Jeb stood by his choice. At the end of their time together, Jeb thanked Zeke for all he had done for him and told Zeke that he wanted to visit New Canaan alone. After a tearful goodbye, the pair parted ways. Jebediah spent 10 years on New Canaan working in shipyards and spaceports as an engineer, mechanic, and roboticist. He refined the skills that Zeke taught him and lived well among other IPCs, but he could feel the stars calling out to him. He discovered a NanoTrasen office while on New Canaan and decided to work for them as a Roboticist. After 4 years, he was stationed on the Cyberiad, where he has made a few friends and learned a lot of new skills. Qualifications: Decades of first-hand experience with engineering and robotics. A year of science training and mining on the NSS Cyberiad. Employment Records: Engineer and roboticist for 10 years on New Canaan. Engineer, roboticist, scientist, and shaft miner on NSS Cyberiad. Security Records: He was once arrested for crime committed by a human named Jebidiah (note the alternate spelling). Medical Records: None. He is an IPC. 8. Sleeping Carp is a tator item that makes you unable to use guns, but unable to be hit by them, do more punch damage and get some robust ass melee combos Edit: and if someone shoots you with a laser tag gun while you have it, it says in red letters "X Deflects the laser, ranged weapons do not work on them" or something along those lines
