Players who play as hard as they can constantly, are super chesty about it, then complain endlessly when others do the same to them. When they get beat by something they cry is "unfair" despite the fact that they'd claim it to be a viable strategy if they were to do the same thing. Antags who spare certain players cuz they are familiar with them, murder the hell out of randoms, then the player they spared preaches on comms about how harmless the antag is despite them killing many others. Especially with vampires who decide who they will thrall/ignore and who they will drain based on meta friendship/knowledge (like oooh...so and so is a good antag, I should thrall them cuz they'll be useful. Oh look, random nobody, drain and dispose of body ending thier round cuz F%&* people who don't play the game constantly or are new). I suppose also the people who are on the receiving end of these "favors" from antags cuz they know they will get them (and totally don't seek it out...right? ?). People who constantly bend the rules as much as possible without breaking them. Y'all know who you are.2 points

I've noticed Public Defenders tend to shirk many of their IA duties because they feel it's 'not their job'. I've also noticed that Public Defenders always think its 'their job' to argue with sec about everything. EVERYTHING.1 point

I want the leg shading back. The one thing that really distinguishes the Tajaran feet and makes them look like not-a-reskinned-human was the shading that implies (in this low res game) that the feet are a different shape. In fact, in general, I really dislike the overall removal of shading that you've done. With such a low-res game, you need that shading to give it some depth (of course, keeping in mind that we're not looking at your blown-up examples, we're looking at a much smaller sprite, the shading is important to make it look more detailed) What I really, really don't understand, is, to what end do these updates really matter? I don't think you're fixing any glaring bugs, and in fact in your older threads (which you've deleted instead of updated for some reason?) it was pointed out that some of the things you had changed before were actually breaking the game (for instance, not showing both hands so people can confirm you're unarmed) I believe in fixing bugs, I don't believe in changes for the sake of your personal tastes. I honestly feel like you don't understand a lot of what you're changing, most of the time. That seems to be a prevailing theme throughout this whole process you've taken it upon yourself to go through. You've changed a lot of shading without understanding why it's there.1 point

Name: Rivals Access: Syndicate Additional Access: Syndicate Command for the commander Supervisors: The Syndicate Duties: Kidnap crew. Max RND. Sabotage Nanotrasen. Congratulations, you have been selected by one of the many Syndicate corporations to join the crew of a new station directly orbiting the NSS Cyberiad! Ensure that you complete your tasks at all costs. Stealth is not mandatory, but recommended while possible. Your objectives In general you will have the following tasks: · Ensure that at least 5 Nanotrasen personnel (command worth 2) is jailed on the Syndicate Station. They must survive. Experimenting permitted. · Reach maximum research levels. You don’t have everything on-site for this. It is mandatory that you steal machinery from the Cyberiad to scan. · At least 3 of you must survive (syndicate commander worth two). The Syndicate Station Command Office: There is a long-range fax machine and an uplink of 30TC inside. Only the commander has access to this room. Atmospherics: There is a hardsuit, and all tools, including insulated gloves. Chemistry: Basic chemistry equipment included. Medbay: Cryotubes and necessary tools for surgery are provided. The operating theatre is easily accessible from RND. Interrogation: Including a lot of non-lethal but painful weaponry to deal with whatever you have to. Also has several straightjackets and muzzles. The jail opens from here, and targets put in here also count for the objective. Kitchen: Even corrupt corporate agents must eat too. Radio Station: Equipped with several intercoms with access to all Nanotrasen channels. The Syndicate t-comms array is also put here. Note that the “syndicate encryption key” which can be bought from the uplink works on a completely different channel. The frequency for your headsets will be randomized each round. Research and Development: Equipped with all machinery required for RND and robotics including an autolathe. It should be a priority to finish tech levels for your objective – and also for better tools. While certain things still come out as lockboxes, remember your commander’s uplink and all the emags he can order. Construction: An empty area made for personal projects. Use it well. Solars: Where all your power comes from. Turret array: There is a turret array around the Syndicate Station to prevent intruders. They should not shoot at you while you have your ID. Podbay: You start with a military armored spacepod with laser weaponry. Attack Shuttle: You start with a shuttle designed for breaking though the Cyberiad’s hull. It can dock at numerous areas. Ensure this does not get captured by the enemy. Escape Shuttle: The console only activates when all objectives are done. It makes a worldwide announcement saying that the syndicate shuttle has been activated. If the shuttle docks at syndicate command with at least 3 of you alive, the prisoners are in the shuttle brig, and having the RND server on max (which is on the shuttle) then you win. You can make numerous improvements thanks to your RND lab. Making your own AI. Teleporters. An autocloner. The possibilities are endless. But I am Nanotrasen! Worry not! Obviously first you must identify that the round type is rivals. For this you must have one of the following to be completely sure: A screaming mechanic. A screaming pod pilot. Mysterious people dragging your colleagues (or you, whoops) into dark shuttles. Morons who run around with ID cards saying “Syndicate.” Or ultimately the announcement which comes. You have multiple ways to deal with the threat. Building a BSA tends to help. Making the mechanic build security a fleet and storming the area is an option also. Still, beware of the turrets!1 point

Traitors who kill their objectives (me) 2 minutes into the round Botanists who refuse to grow literally anything for the chef CMOs who try and micromanage the medbay but can't be bothered stocking the fridge when there's no chemists HOS whose alter ego is Rambo and will try and single handedly try and take on the cultists by themselves without alerting anyone. The only notification you hear is the death alarm that follows. Just....public defenders KIKIKIKIKIKIKIKIKIKIKIKIKIKIKI *vox screech*1 point

Well, i figure the belt could get some description that it uses the energy from an EMP to power some small bots to repair the IPC, so the belt does have an emp_act() that calls rejuvenate onto the IPC after a short time. Hacky workaround i guess. About the general idea, i did actually make a PR about it, i'll quote why the framework for species specific was turned down: While more depth for species sure is nice, how can it get reached with a nice implementation? Smaller things, like the veils Tajarans did get, are easily added, but don't have much impact unless you RP around it. More mechanical things, like the colorblindness, do get controversial quite quickly. What might be a better idea is to give every cloneable, and with that, any species that can be turned into as changeling, such an ability, that the changeling can buy in pack as "racial ability". While being a Tajaran, the changeling would be able to extend and retract sharp claws, cheaper, more covert, but bit weaker than the armblade, while being a Unathi, they could get a tail sweep, or something like that. Would make people not getting locked out of tools directly, because they usually don't play/have that race, but it sure does still leave the racial balance issue.1 point

DNA Vault requires A) Engineers to be competant B) Command to give a shit C) R&D to be up to snuff D) Xenobiology manned by someone competant and compliant and E) Botanists to be growing a wide variety of plants. F) The Station to be intact and alive enough to get all the samples instead of patching holes/shooting nuke ops/swamping cloning and surgery. So yeah. DNA Vault rarely gets done. Some custom station goals were done by admins recently which were: 'ship 1000 units of food to centcomm'. That one didn't really get done because the shift ended early, and nobody actually transported the chef's food to cargo (and xenobio had shit luck with slimes). The 'Create 3 supersoldiers' one was pretty involved in that it used Hydro, Genetics, R&D, Xenobio, Robotics, Viro and Cargo however the onus was entirely on the Research Director to co-ordinate and acquire everything; and extra super-soldiers need to be made incase one or more of them die or go to cryostorage. Which leaves for one really, really salty RD when one of his super soldiers dies in the escape shuttle and the station goal is failed. A REALLY. SALTY. RD.1 point

If the cargo point cost of delivery gets cut down, the parts can be ordered much sooner and thus be constructed a lot faster. In the case of the meteor shield, Centcom (read: an admin) may release a forecast of meteor waves and expected bombardment location to provide an incentive for the construction of meteor shields. Something like "Our meteorological heh scans indicate an incoming wave of meteors at roughly 13:00 station time and ending at 13:30. They are expected to be near: Arrivals, AI satellite, and Permabrig. Please install station shields at the following locations and be ready in case of a hull breach."1 point

Characters who's sole personality trait is being exceedingly toxic to absolutely everyone and everything over comms. People who kill animals, then smear their blood absolutely everywhere. People who've unlocked like, fuckin' Plasmamen acting like obnoxious greytiders. How the fuck did they ever earn that much karma? Greytiding Slime People. Maybe it's just me, but like 90% of the Slimes I see do nothing but wordlessly fuck with shit and spam the *squish emote. People who come in and disassemble the library shelves while I'm clearly trying to stock them. Is it that hard to pester the botanist for wood? Chefs who stock the counter with nothing but wish soup and burnt messes. Chemists who happily hand out things like space lube.1 point

Adding onto this, officers who refuse to answer your inquiries about the offending person's crimes over comms, then get mad when you cut them loose to keep processing from being clogged up.1 point

Although this is an art thread, I'd like to share this space-themed EP I produced last year. I'm by no means a professional, and I did all of it for fun.1 point

There were a couple players who had nothing better to do with their time than stand outside the brig spamming scream for two hours. I told them to get a life IC but kinda really meant it OOC. . But oh wait...the gods answered my prayers... Needless to say, they became mutes. Captain didn't entirely understand what was going on.1 point

So in theory this is true, but with how many people join and leave security (as well as Chaplains that just stand in processing to force feed water), the simple truth is it's going to keep happening. And when it happens and that person gets ahelped/bwoinked (and learns their lesson for next time), the vampire's round is still ruined even if they were careful in not using their powers or being discovered. First thought: I'm totally on board for brain damage, if it's high enough to cause some of my favorite hilarious effects. (I will never forget the first time I saw someone bucklecuffed in processing being forcefed holy water and screaming "CAN U GIVE ME HALK?!") Secondly: I was thinking on this, and I feel like it should be a numbers adjustment, so that using holywater should be a careful process, as opposed to CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG. Holy Water should be just toxic enough that 50u kills someone. 30u/40u should deconvert and put them at death's door, but not kill them. I mean this also gives the opportunity for smart security to keep carefully measured stock of 40u holy water pills on hand.1 point
