Their voxxy, Giki! I’ll be updating this thread over the next few days with everything else I’ve drawn of spess8 points

Name: HelpBot2000 Age: 85? [Note: Specific age of this unit is uncertain, as the HelpBot line has been out of production for quite a while.] Gender: Male? [Note: HelpBot doesn't care about its gender, and only identifies as a male for simplicity.] Race: IPC Blood Type: AB+ [Note: IPCs have blood?] General Occupational Role(s): Assistant, Helper, Station Engineer, Detective Biography: The HelpBot line of robotic servants were briefly a wild hit and many households across the stars had them. Due to poor business decisions and severely cut corners the company that introduced them went under and the HelpBot license was sold to a group known for making knock-off robots. In short time HelpBot production ceased entirely as catastrophic breakdowns, along with grossly obsolete hardware and software, completely destroyed most credibility for the models. Hobbyists who remembered the good old days of having top-of-the-line HelpBots decided to buy the rights at a spectacularly cheap price. For a brief duration they were pumping out even better HelpBot models who were granted enough intelligence to classify as sentient beings. This, unfortunately, did not last as the hobbyists had terrible business sense and quickly fell bankrupt. Once more the HelpBot rights have been up for sale and the line as a whole has been mostly forgotten, especially as modern robots of any variety are usually much more effective in any task. HelpBot2000 is one of, if not the last of the HelpBots created by the Hobbyists. At its creation model 2000 was the best of the best in its line. That was a long time ago. Nowadays its parts are under dubious condition at best, and its operating system is so old that it can not update firmware. Despite being comparably slower, weaker, and dumber than modern IPCs this unit really wants to do what it loves: helping people. Qualifications: Helping People Employment Records: Helping People Security Records: Helping People Medical Records: Helping People Personnel Photo (Appearance text): Helping People Commendations [only to be added by admin]: Reprimands [only to be added by admin]: Other Notes: OOC stuff is going to go here. Initial inspiration for HelpBot2000 was something like a mix between Yes Man (Fallout: New Vegas) and C3P0 (Star Wars). The 2000 bit of his name is just there to sound like he'd fit in one of those old corny sci-fi movies.3 points

Character Voice: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Story (WIP) N.A.T.H.A.N used to be a rich Canadian doing Canadian things, including but not limited to: Being a bit too nice to everyone, sharing his snacks with classmates and having a weak spot for long-term grudges. After a few months of reaching the 15 age landmark, Nathan decided it would be a good idea to find a job. His parents reccomended to go to a place they've always been working in. NanoTrasen. The job had quite the paycheck, but also quite the risks. Nathan decided to accept, despite many warnings from the local media. After signing the contract, Nathan got the job. His career had started in the Goon sector aboard NSV Destiny. A science vessel. Things that happened "there" had been quite rough. Nathan experienced bad things to say the least, and yet he kept going. There were even a few times where Nathan had died, and yet he kept on going. A few years later, after an incident that managed to destroy the whole vessel, Nathan was reassigned to the Paradise sector, aboard NSS Cyberiad. A place where work is a luxury. Nathan always had bit of a passion for technology and robotic things. He sometimes even dreamed of going robotic himself. Not long ago after reassignment Nathan discovered the glory of an Integrated Positronic Chassis. By simply placing his brain within one, he could become one with toaster-kind. An appointment at NBS Anansi, the madlad had done it. Nathan may now switch between organic and positronic freerly in-between shifts. He had favored his new chassis, almost always using it if possible. His chassis is well equipped, containing many expensive modules to assist survival, however NanoTrasen's standards prohibit many of theese. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gallery (Click Spoilers to View) Appearance 1 (Old-gen): Appearance 2 (Armored): Appearance 3 (New-Gen Departmental): Appearance 4 (New-Gen Blue): Security ID (Old): ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Timeline (Very WIP) 7.9.2542 - Nathan Sanford is born somewhere in Canada. Death timer doesn't matter. Cloning exists. And like cloning, after 20+ minutes of being dead the player may not be interested in returning to the round if they are still there. IPCs are no easier to repair than any organic is to heal. In fact, it takes much more effort to heal IPCs than it does to heal organics even without considerations for things like NewCrit. BS You say? Oh I argue strongly. Welders heal 15 damage max and a cable coil heals 3 per length with a max of 24 burn heals, compare to brute and burn kits healing 25 each. Chemistry patches can heal much more than this, with styptic, silver sulf and synthflesh all capable of healing 100+ damage across the entire body instantly. But welders and cabling are common! They say, but round start a very generous estimate puts there to be maybe 10-15 complete sets of tools in public access, with 30+ assistants in a round if you don't grab them immediately they won't be available to an IPC hoping to repair themselves after the first 5 minutes of a round. But Cargo and Science can make more tools! And Medical and Science can make more healing patches. Far easier and without reliance on Mining to do a thing. Botany can make healing plants and anything with nutrition will heal the organic that eats, so the Chef's food, the donuts in security to the junk food in vendors will all heal an organic based upon how much nutrition, protein and vitamins are in the plant. But IPC surgery can be done anywhere! So can organic surgery. IPC limbs break faster and break from more sources. Burns don't break organic limbs, but IPCs need surgery after eating a few lasers. Going into crit doesn't cause an organic's ribcage to suddenly implode. But an IPC takes constant brute while in crit across their whole body, meaning a single person trying to repair 200~ damage may find themselves repairing over 400 because of how asinine the repair goes. IPCs also bleed from less damage dealt to them compared to organics, and do not regenerate their oil blood at all, where as organics can regenerate blood from food, saline and iron intake. TL;DR Easy to Damage, Easy to Repair is a myth. Only the easy to damage part is true. In every other sense organics have advantage when it comes to reliable means to heal and return to a round if their body can be found. If IPC buffs were nearly as potent as people made them out to be, how come nobody uses Prosthetic limbs, which are available to literally everyone and carry all the same pros and cons as IPC self repair. Because IPC healing is inconvenient at best and a time and effort time sink in its worst cases where the tools available to heal robotic crew are laughably underpowered compared to anything a competent medical bay can accomplish.1 point
