Hey there, Toko/Octus has a couple new pieces for people to enjoy (Disclaimer: All art below drawn by Tokorizo/Octus, please do comment and share your thoughts and feelings) Koik the Kingpin: Picture I did for a good friend of mine in game and I love their Dynamic with Toko. This picture I sorta experimented with brush uses and different types of shading, a used like 30 brushes and mixed them all around to really add the vibrancies to Koik, with after effects being the cherry on top. Overall I really like how this came out, really has that POP and character to it, something I like to see as improvement, and its my first Unathi drawing. Expect more from the more recognized lizards in game as I have ambitions to expand my species pallet. Jailbird: Wanted to do something with a bit more dread as I really like concepts of isolation or just emptiness. There is a sort of quiet ambience I picture in my mind when I see this picture and its rather unsettling. Overall I tried to stick to using the color blue as its good to represent a feeling of loneliness, sadness, or just a aloofness feeling. I added a bit of lighting as it really fits well with a picture of darkness and really shows emotion that the viewer can understand, also this picture was really big, like REALLY big for my scale. I usually work 1024x1024, this one was 4096x4096 so it was a big step up for me and I got to work on my background painting too. Overall not a bad start for practicing my more moody pictures.

Hiya all! After a month.. there is another drawing from me! Wanted to draw this character for quite a long while so it is finally here. V.I.V.I. 7, your lovely IPC Blueshield ^^ Cannot say that am exactly satisfied with the results, especially the revolver was giving me headaches.. but here it is, could tell me what you think ^^ Love ya'all, hopefully will draw some other blep a tiny bit sooner.

Welcome, authorised personnel, please select a file. JIM TATE, NSS CYBERIAD Loading file… Biography: Jim Tate started off in humble beginnings, in the rural outskirts of Earth, Northern Ireland. His hometown wasn’t particularly fancy or anywhere near the cityscape, though Jim could not complain. His parents, two bright entrepreneurs, owned a modest company in the region supplying BioTech solutions. And for some time, Jim even had an accompanying grandfather whom he loved dearly. Life was well. The grandfather, also from the entrepreneurial roots, was now retired, wasting his hours in his workshop. Jim was fond of that place. He could stare with ardent interest on his grandfather messing with machines and the sort. Eventually, Jim got the gist of the thing too. That childhood curiosity sparked an interest that would last a lifetime. Years passed, life was not so exciting any longer, but instead became more and more routine. Jim could not tolerate living such a petty life. He started to gaze outwards. In this period of teenage rebelhood, Jim befriended an amazing friend, Eamon. They did everything together. They had the same ardent passions. The two could’ve fallen off a cliff to save the other. Jim considered him a brother. Once they reached adulthood, Jim and Eamon finally set foot in the real world. Although they were rurals, they were still in TSF lands. They both agreed it would be ideal to fulfil their military service early on, and thus get full citizenship before entering some form of workforce. However the plan changed when their jaws dropped from excitement. They drafted into the marine engineers - It was everything a bored, engineer wannabe rural could’ve ever hoped for. So instead they stuck around with the TSF marines, climbing the ranks, performing ever more fierce missions. It reached a point of them being in the CX5-Battalion, one of the highly prestigious divisions. Requesting military records from SolGov database. Connection established. The 2020 PAASC! As teased in the Discord, I'm proud to announce the start of 2020 Paradise Art And Spriting Competition! The goal of this competition is for the staff to be able to see a whole bunch of different styles of spriting, the the aim in mind of getting the chosen style spread throughout many of our sprites. The winner will be chosen by a vote of the Heads and Maints, and chosen on the mixed grounds of subjective personal taste, how identifiable items are, and how they mesh with the current look of the station sprites. The Prize, Details and Disclaimers: The intent of this competition is for us to see a whole bunch of sprite styles, and hopefully select one to use as an overall style for the server. The prize will be limited, as we don't want people trying extra hard for the competition. We want the work to be reflective of what you'd do if given the chance to redesign the sprites on the server - not what you'd do to show off your best art on a few pieces. Given that, the prizes will be limited to accolades and bragging rights, with winner(s) seeing their sprites used in game and as a guide for future design. We're also going to be using this process to help us select a Sprite Team, including an Art Lead. The winner will not necessarily be in charge of the team - great spriting ability =/= great leading ability. But we're going to use this as an opportunity to see the portfolios of people and help make our selection. Competition End Date: 14 days from time of this post appearing in announcements. The Actual Competition: The following room has 27 sprites to redesign. You are not expected to necessarily redesign them all! Part of what we'll be looking for is people who know when not to redesign a sprite, either because it already works well or due to time constraints. We're looking for people who are going to be good at many of the practical aspects of sprite design in ss13. Number 20 can be any form of poster that NT would allow. Number 6, Monitor 1, Can be any monitor. Number 10, Monitor 2, must be an operation computer. You'll have to find those sprites in the game files yourself - that's a qualification you'll absolutely need! Once you've recreated it, send me (necaladun#4908 on discord) all the seperate files in a zip or something, and a screenshot of the whole room together. I'll place them in this thread so everyone can see. Disclaimer Parts: Any sprites submitted to us for this competition are for Paradise to use, with attribution and credit - we might really like your jetpack sprite, but the rest of it might not work. In the rare likelihood we don't like any of the designs, we reserve the right to declare no winner. Best of luck to all entrants!

Coffee Break This took longer than it should have... after multiple redraws, fixes, color edits... and learning tricks in art. I present you this piece with some of my favorite Vox on station, @SlimeBird as Chikitita, the Caffineoholic, @BlackDog as Kar-Ski, the Maestro, and myself as Toko, the Vicious.
