  1. G'day prospective reppys, and experienced reppys alike, this guide aims to outline the NTRs job, their equipment, faxes, and how to roleplay as an NTR in order to find more work and be a respected member of command. NTR has the potential to be a very difficult role, and shouldn't be taken lightly. Requires a huge amount of proactiveness in your approach, and solid experience as command, and as an IAA. NTR is locked behind a whopping THIRTY karma, making it the most expensive job unlock, alongside blueshield on paradise station, and should not be taken lightly. Because of the karma requirement, your ability to roleplay as reppy is important and you will be held to a higher standard than others on the station. Before playing NTR, an EXTENSIVE knowledge of SOP, and a decent knowledge of space law is REQUIRED. I STRONGLY recommend that before unlocking NTR, you have a good few rounds logged as an IAA before beginning your journey. NTR has the potential to be EXTREMELY busy, or not busy at all, depending on the current situation of the station, and has a high potential for getting dragged into all sorts of strange shit that you get to form an opinion on. Your Home: Your """Equipment""": The Actual Job: Your own SOP, a simple breakdown: The cats you herd: Regarding acting heads: Actually ADVISING command, because you know.... you're an advisor: Inspecting a department: I found a no-no, what now? a step-by-step guide: Your pride and joy; The humble fax machine: Oh god! Roleplay tips Helpful resources to use: I recommend that all of these be read and understood, especially SOP and the guide to faxes. 2. Hey everyone! Solid work this month. Little bit quiet this month with edits. To be fair most of us are busy with schooling however I do encourage everyone to atleast take a stab at something every 1-2 weeks. I took a trip to Boston, USA and was dealing with midterms so I didn't get to as much as I wanted to. That's not to say that things didn't get done. I'd also encourage everyone to review this post on discord that I made a month or two back. It's important to understand the type of community that we should be fostering as a wiki contributors. I like to praise wiki contributors for their selfless contribution to our server but I hope people don't take it as a ticket to consider oneself higher in status than another player. It's about making the server better and if you consider someone pointing out a wiki-mistake as a problem rather than a contribution I think you should reevaluate what it means to contribute to our wiki. That being said, onto the meat of our update. What needs to be done on the Wiki: Apparel needs to be rewritten(in progress, please help) Special Event Roles needs to be rewritten (details on the page) it also needs some kind of Gif Icon uploaded Starters Guide to Admin Tools needs to be updated (more admin stuff) Containers needs to have the tables styled and a few things cleaned up Cyborg should have more explanation regarding cyborg UI and have a mention of the diagnostic menu. Random Events has lots of outdated info and its styling needs to be brought up to speed Telecommunications images need a once-over/fix Detective is lackluster as a page and should be rewritten EMP effects could use stylistic improvements Guide for beginners needs a once-over Guide to Regex needs to be expanded upon Singularity Engine is missing images and could do with a rewrite Guide to Construction is missing quite a few mineral constructions, there's currently a WIP rewrite of this Guide to Robotics is missing info about the Cyborg Analyzer These Pages need to be written: Guide to Cleaning Guide to Command/Leadership Service Items Derelict Researcher Courtroom needs to be filled out Electrical Maintenance Needs to be filled out Meta and Delta location need to filled out and added(image files that is) other shit I can't be bothered to add or has been added since time of writing, see: Maintenance Panel October Change Log: Containers has been seriously expanded and explanatory info added to it Template:Species has been redone visually (it's hot now) Vendors has had departmental vendors added to it thanks to @Threes Nuclear Agent images have been uploaded for this page Vampire/Testmerge has been created thanks the help of @Threes and @Charliminator MediaWiki:Sidebar has been updated to include the maintenance panel Most job pages now have some wacky and zany antag section header names thanks to @Imic Guide to Robotics has had multiple corrections made to it thanks to @Mightykitty All references to space pods/mechanic have been removed or archived. Karma page updated to reflect this as well New song added to Video Games thanks to @Mitchs98 New songs added to Songs/Cartoons thanks to @DatKoyote Engineering Items has been updated thanks to @Agatasa and @Krossarn Mining shuttle board added to Research Items thank to @PacifistDalek Syndicate Items bundles have been updated/corrected + info about new items Updates have been made to AI/Cyborg regarding malf stuff thanks @Qwertytoforty Crafting now includes colored carpets Keyboard Shortcuts has been updated thanks to @EmilitiaEnnehrt Bunny crate has been added to Supply Crates Significant fixes have been made to most engineering pages thanks to @LtGerbal Guide to Medical and Medical Items has been updated thanks to @Woje This Months Contributors that I haven't recognized yet: @Quacks Keep knocking out those revision requests y'all. if you were @'d on this post it means that you contributed meaningfully to our wiki in some aspect and I'd hope you are willing to stay around another month to keep doing so. If you want to get involved with editing the wiki and don't know how, @ me on the discord and I'll happily sit down and teach you stuff when I get the chance. I hope to continue doing this every month. Here is a syntax guide for those who are curious As always, thanks for the hard work everyone!

  4. The compact sniper rifle is probably the least used syndicate weapon right next to the dehydrated carp, and for good reason. The compact sniper rifle: 1. does 70 brute damage 2. is a large item 3. only has 4 shots 4. is extremely recognizable while the .357 magnum, it’s direct competitor: 1. only does 10 less brute damage 2. can have more ammo printed 3. costs 3 less TC 4. Is a normal sized item 5. looks like any other handgun / dart pistol and 6. Can fit in a holster I’d consider that no contest, which really destroys any reason to buy this thing to begin with. With this TC decrease i purpose then you could combo it with something like adrenals, making it way more viable for a loud assassin.

  5. I think people greatly misunderstand how powerful this spell kinda is. It's a touch spell that means you can then ignore the person and they'll just be killed off because Cluwnes are valid. Some one never rolling wizard doesn't mean they can't add to a conversation in a positive, constructive way. Experience as a specific antag isn't entirely a make or break when you have a lot of time on the server. What I've seen a lot of wizards win or lose on isn't not knowing what the right spells to take it's getting outplayed. I've seen absolute monster wizards get taken down because they didn't know some mechanic or they made a mistake that got capitalized on by a more advanced player.

  7. We used to have wizards w/ objectives before. It ended up creating incredibly tame rounds that dragged on for hours on end with no satisfying conclusion. Wizard shows up, pretends to be friendly, completes their objective silently, then farts around w/ Command for 1:45. Their current objectiveless schema is very intentional.

  8. Yeah currently the only other way to find ammo is by random space occurrence where there’s a random room with a single magazine. Otherwise you can’t even find them in the syndicate depot unless a sniper rifle spawns in the armory. Overall really unviable.

  9. I mean im not even sure you read the suggestion here, im not suggesting wiz as a midround, i am suggesting a toned down midround which uses wizard stuff while builds being geared around avoiding permakilling, lootable gear and potential for widespread disruption. And i will agree that wiz rounds generally should not continue after the wiz is gone, and this also with that more toned down nature makes it so its much less needed for mass ungaing. Though the kits may need to be adjusted more as they are just examples i thought up late at night especially ones like the wand one as that definetly could fuck shit up for other antags. Well you dont got much of a thing to say here never being a wiz, making this kind of just speculation but i do see your point. Experience gets you better at any antag and wiz is no exception though from personal experience of having rolled it many times it really helps to have experience of it specifically so you know quite a bit of what to do. Though that still isnt the main point of this just being an added bonus, the main point is letting more people experience wizard items and spells and adding another midround to look forward to.

  10. playing as wizard, isn't how people get better at wizard. I have never rolled wizard in 2000+ hours. would I be a more robust wizard than 80% of them? yes. general playtime and experience gets you better at wizard. IMO, wizard should be timelocked behind antagonist playtime. that way, wizard cannot be your first antag experience, and you need atleast 2-3 antag rounds before you can even sign up for wizard.

  11. As the title implies, I am resigning from Maintainer, as I need to focus more on IRL things, hosting, and my own mental health. I wont go into too many details, but this is the way forward for me to preserve what remains of my sanity. FAQ Are you staying as Host? Yes. I dont plan to resign from Host any time soon. Believe it or not, its a lot calmer than Maintainer for a fair few reasons. Do you have a successor? No. Nobody at the moment has the required skills or etiquette to be a Maintainer. Can we ping you yet? No.
