  1. This suggestion is entirely because you became frustrated that a Captain chose to remove you from the Bridge after the Head of Personnel gave you the 'bridge entertainer' or similar job title during a round today. Not only is this extremely specific, but loyalty implants do nothing to prevent illegal behavior anymore - and for just 30 karma, bridge clown would be an immediate pick for anyone who wants to dick around and be annoying to the heads because 'it's my jorb'. Lastly, Honkshield, etc. Implies that the entertainer is some sort of bodyguard like the blue shield is, which is also dumb and contrary to the intended purpose of the role. You want bridge entertainment? Respawn as Ian or Renault and be entertaining that way. You don't need a special snowflake bridge clown for that.
  2. Everyone with an ID able to access the Bridge has a telebaton, except the NT rep, who has the vastly superior fancy cane. Make the telegavel a reskinned telebaton with funnier hit text. Or even just leave the hit text alone. Seriously, magistrates are high-ranking officials - they should have some means of self defense, and a reskinned telebaton as a gavel is equivalent to what every other Command-level role has at their disposal. Yes, this might 'encourage' Dredd behavior - but if they're going to try to take on syndies and lings and the like armed solely with a telebaton, well, they deserve their horrible death.
  3. That's because you don't need to do anything special at all. Reattach the head and limbs, weld and cable it a bunch, and it's done.
  4. Many Traitor objectives are acquirable without using the uplink at all - evidenced easily by the fact that most autotater rounds involve at least one balloon. The only one that you can't do without risking detection is the document trade, since it spawns in your backpack. Vampires only have blood draining as an objective that might give them away, though they can easily just murder two people in maint and slurp them up without more risk of discovery than a traitor. Changelings have absorption objectives, which are effectively just like the blood drain - very easily obtained by a shopping trip to the morgue - but unlike others, they have impersonation objectives, which are often very, very difficult to accomplish, because if the other person loses their ID somewhere, or gets spaced and dies, you're just plainly screwed. While this is often the case as well for certain theft objectives (CE boots when the CE jumps in an uncalibrated teleporter and dies somewhere), it's much more likely than others, since an ID with the person's name on it doesn't work - it has to be their round start Id.
  5. SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK HONK SQUEAK SQUEAK HONK SQUEAK HONK SQUEAK HONK SQUEAK SQUEAK HONK SQUEAK SQUEAK
  6. Just reuse the teleporter tracking beacon sprite and recolor a pinpointer.
  7. For that matter, why isn't the RD doing his job and maxing research 20 minutes into the shift so he can upgrade medbay by thirty minutes in so that cloning doesn't cause brain damage and only causes around ten cloning damage and virtually no genetic mutations? Why isn't Xenobotany producing Rezadone to skip cloning cryo altogether? Don't upgraded sleepers produce alkysine too? Science can make medbay run much, much smoother with minimal effort. Frankly, and I hate to say this, but most of the time, you simply cannot rely on anyone besides yourself to be competent - and there is almost always someone more competent than you who is busy elsewhere. Rather than make cloning faster (and thus a bigger antag target), people should learn to avoid careless death methods and be suspicious of unknowns in masks stalking maintenance.
  8. Cleaver best.
  9. Changelings and vampires can be best friends - changeling stasis regenerates blood to full, and vampire shapeshift generates entirely new randomized genomes, so they could easily go back and forth absorbing each other so to speak.
  10. I am okay with this, as long as it doesn't happen too frequently - the mixed antagonist rounds are a massive nightmare for security, as it's hard to tell what the hell they should be looking for, even once an antagonist I caught. Also, add cult to that list. Lastly, make the antag types have a high tendency to oppose one another. That way the station is both faces antagonist threats but also has to deal with being caught in the crossfire between rival factions. Maybe traitors and lings could tend to work together, vamps and cult could tend to work together, and both sides tend to antagonize each other.
  11. It also isn't needed for anything but what, meat cutlets and that's it? I think you can move that to the kitchen knife and everything will be fine.
  12. Besides the hat, I think the mechanic's workshop should have tables and racks to hold the stuff. Putting metal and rods in a locker is weird. Also, give them goggles. All the cool welders use goggles.
  13. The mime locker should make no sound when opened or closed. The clown locker should squeak (like their shoes) when opened or closed instead of clicking.
  14. If it was, they would either A. Be banned for doing so, which they are not, or B. Not have the ability to do so. Slashing the apc is a rather snowflake ability that only xenos have. That is not, however, the topic of this thread.
  15. Hilariously abused and terribly impractical. We already have a thread discussing an overhaul of the brig timers that will easily do this, but in a much better fashion, because multiple sentences that stack up to more than an hour of brigtime become permanent sentences instead.
  16. While I like Alice as a character and Arthur as a person (regardless of their insistence that I shouldn't), I cannot support this - mostly because it's preferential treatment by admins to specific players, and can in no way be interpreted as fair, as there is no specific criteria or condition required to obtain a drink named after you. Could we allow donations, or a hefty karma cost for this sort of thing? Possibly. Just because someone asks for it? No, because then other people will question why THEIR character (deservedly or not) doesn't get one for free too. I am fully willing to ply my meager coding and sprinting abilities to making custom drinks for people who donate ten bucks or pay a hundred karma or something.
  17. The current detective with his revolver is quite literally the only noir element in the entirety of the game, and frankly, it's painfully disconnected with the themes of the rest of the game. If they MUST keep the revolver, replace the so-called 'rubber' bullets (that are JUST like regular bullets, except they cannot embed, meaning the Detective, who is not a security officer whatsoever, begins with and now ONLY gets a lethal weapon to carry during Blue, when it is illegal to carry a lethal weapon) with the same projectile as in the Stun Shells, which stun targets but ignore ablative armor and energy shields because they're still a solid projectile. Then put a box of lethal bullets in the secure armory with the rest of the lethal weapons, because that's where they belong. Don't insist they keep a weapon that breaks SOP with something as flimsy as justifying it as an option in ONE gametype, especially not one where the secure armory combat shotguns would serve far better. If the Detective puts on the blue coat, takes off the brown hat, and puts on a security jumpsuit, there is no longer anything vaguely noirlike about them - and the fact that their alternative job title is 'forensics technician', which describes their ACTUAL role much more accurately than 'detective' anyway - puts a lid on the Dick Tracey gumshoe nonsense that seems to possess every shitty detective who I see walking around with revolver drawn, and not carrying evidence bags, police tape, a camera, or a recorder. And a telebaton now, for whatever fucking reason. Personal defense my ass, they shouldn't ever be in a situation that's more dangerous than anything a Civilian gets into. If you aren't going to turn the Forensic Technician into something more than a pure evidence-gathering role, take away their equipment unrelated to evidence gathering, and let the security officers handle protecting them like they do the rest of the station. If their job is to scan crime scenes, take pictures, record witness statements, process dna and fingerprints, and catalogue physical evidence and store it, they don't need a baton and a gun. In all honesty, IRL detectives are far more like the special agents mentioned above, while the current detective is more like a CSI with a taste for Call of Cthulhu. In IRL police forces, detectives often hold the rank of Lieutenant, which puts them multiple pay grades above your run of the mill beat cop. But a guy in the forensics lab, running prints and dna samples? Or the coroner? Those have no authority to arrest whatsoever and are basically civilian support personnel. Tl;dr: You get one or the other, not both.
  18. The title very clearly says 'dangerous subdepartments', not 'every subdepartment and room'. So unless the xenos were in Virology, Xenobiology, or Permabrig, it wouldn't have potential for abuse. Secondly, this is very clearly a last resort option - it requires swiping, which is a hassle, and even has a restriction requiring the office of the subdepartment being ejected's head to be used, which makes it more of a hassle. I also want to point out that without lots of snowflake code, shooting a blob core to z level 2 would do absolutely nothing useful if the blob player was looking at a tile on station, because ejecting the core doesn't inherently kill it. Finally, it would be rather easy to disable it, and the argument that xenos smashing the ejection bolts would be meta is nonsense, because it isn't meta for them to smash apcs or run from crew carrying lasers. And we all know the blob gamemode only functions with any amount of sense if the blob gets to know what it's host knew before it popped as well as what the other blob cores in the hivemind know, so that's not even worth bringing up in the first place.
  19. I am fully behind this. Especially if the prisoner can read what crimes he's in for. Seriously, there is nothing wrong with this.
  20. I honestly don't care enough to change this sort of thing. Then again, I typically play roles that involve high levels of stress/business/necessity of speed, or ones where I don't interact much with others, so I don't have much of a reason to.
  21. Demotions shouldn't be solely head discretion. You end up with "you're fired because I don't like you" which is completely unacceptable.
  22. I'd honestly think that it's an IA issue if a person refuses to hand over the Id and be fired.
  23. Excessive disrespect needs to not be punishable, because seriously, that only empowers comdoms. We recently had an incident in which a person was fired for calling their head a 'nerd'. That needs to stay gone. For good.
  24. I don't recall any rounds I have been in where more than one of the 11tc bombs have gone off. That doesn't mean it hasn't happened, only that it hasn't happened in a round I have been in, so perhaps you keep a schedule that is the inverse of mine, or perhaps I didn't notice them all. I honestly think they're a giant waste of tc, and this who abuse them are quickly antag banned. I've used them a couple times to force shuttle calls or distract security. Really about it.
  25. Around the station? All one of them. They cost 11 tc. Syndies get 20tc to work with.
