There used to be a museum on the station which had some empty armor displays and display cases, which would be ideal for xenoarch finds, but it was removed to make way for map changes because it wasn't ever used except to dump bodies because it didnt have any cameras.

I believe its fine with non lethals. The Gygax is a security robot and is ment for either hit and run missions or riot suppression, which nonlethals work fine with. If some heavy duty killing is truly needed, a Durand is not only stronger, but easier to find materials for and make.

Seems to be a few interesting features with a mishmash from other races (I even recognize my own writing in there). Seems to obviously be a setup for some sort of alien vs predator thing. The invisibility and thermal vison are neat, and seem to have fair downsides. Still, it'd have to be a decently high cost to ensure not everyone is running around with such things.

Updated with machine people nerfs and language..

I actually like this idea. Give the shrink an actual job to do, implement a new RP job and karma output, as well as give some unique opportunities.

A Mentor, actually, but yeah, I'd still need admin support to do anything.

Currently the event is still in the idea process, and is extremely ambitious compared to past events. It may not even happen at all, depending on various factors. Stay tuned I guess.

Being the one who literally wrote the book on machine people (as seen on the wiki page), I have argued vehemently among the staff about this very topic. The most common responses are that they are 'tools' and 'properties of Nanotrasen'. Such is common as in the admin team there isn't much respect for IPCs as a sentient race, sometimes not even being allowed to be called a 'race' at all. I was told IPCs simply have no government, despite how Dionaea and Slime People both get embassies, even though both never had much resembling a 'government'. Nonetheless, I was told that if I wanted to give Machine People a government, i would have to change their status via ingame events, sort of like a story arc, event rounds that keep a continual theme, in between normal ones, and I for one think that is a fantastic idea, that I'm currently brainstorming for.

The Syndicate now has a page about basic history and lore.

I'll be working on various lores and backstories. Right now I'm creating a page for the Syndicate, such as origins, operations, etc.

I think that, unless its fixed, due to to it being the Genetic power, Greys suffer from clone damage.

The thing is, most wizards get objectives such as "escape alive on an emergency shuttle or escape pod" and such an objective cannot be confirmed until the round ends. Some wizards even get the job to "hijack the shuttle by escaping alone", another example of the wizard shuttle not being able to work. Additionally, it seems most crew try to call the shuttle as soon as the wizard becomes a problem that cannot be controlled, meaning if the wizard wins, there wont be time to do much before the shuttle is called and the round eventually ends. We also used to have a mode called Ragin Mages, which added in a new wizard with new objectives every 10 minutes or so. This turned out to be chaotic and frankly I myself cant see it working that much better if it was one at a time. I believe that wizards rounds are currently fine as-is.

I checked the other day and obviously, MP can no longer self heal. I find this unfair. Not only is there always a roboticist to help you out, but if you are a less-reputable person (Wizard, Deathsquad, Nuke ops, other known and wanted-dead antag or something to that sort), you cannot get any healing whatsoever, while even an antag with a medkit could at least preform basic health work on themselves. As it stands, unless someone is willing to help you, you can take damage and never ever get it healed up.

Updated!

Howdy. Over time I've noticed fine suggestions regarding race balance and even thought up some of my own. Let me know what you think about the ideas below. Vox: - Change the Nitrogen tank they spawn with to be emergency-sized (able to stuff in pocket). That way Vox can still wear back-worn items without needing a pressure suit's storage. - On the topic of pressure suits, include more or make a "Vox hardsuit modification kit" in the kit dispenser in EVA which automatically changes the suit to that of the Breacher. - Allow Vox to write their own names on the character select screen instead of being forced to use a different one every round. Grey: - Upgrade their telepathy or give them Telekinesis, or some other mind power. Currently the grey's telepathy has limited use. - Change the colour of the telepathic message text to something easily seen, like purple or green. - (not sure if still broken) Fix the grey's sulfuric acid immunity, last time it's been checked it does not work. Machine People - Allow robotics to make Machine People parts, so you can take a deceased MP's posibrain and place it in a new frame. - Allow machine people to re-attach limbs that weren't EMPd. - Increase karma cost if it appears that MP are becoming too OP for their cheap cost. - Make machine people unclonable. - Give machine people the ability to use *beep, *ping, and *buzz! Skrell - Give them disease immunity to at least make a difference between Skrell and Humans, as currently the only difference between the two is that Skrells cannot wear human hardsuits and have a special language. Might be updated if new ideas pop up. -

I discovered this after hopelessly wasting an entire fire extinguisher on my beloved flag as the mime.

I can confirm that machine people can heal themselves. If you suffer brute damage, you must use a lit welder on the damaged part. If you get the OH and S note, it means that the limb's damage is fully repaired, same if it notes there is nothing left to fix. If you suffer burns, you must use a cable coil on the affected part until you get the same notice. A note that depending on the severity of your wounds, you may be unable to repair the body part because it's been fucked up so badly that a few extra cables or haphazardly welding yourself back together will hardly suffice. Machine people, for the note, are immune to and therefore cannot take damage from, Oxy (loss), Toxins, Clone, or Rad sources. Clone damage isn't to be confused with genetic defects after cloning (which CAN be done) which cannot be cured. But I digress. All limbs can be repaired with some tools provided that the limb in question isn't FUBAR.

You'd need to remove Mechanic from the Karma list, as being able to build mechs and borgs and such is a necessity for a functional station. If you ever noticed, all karma jobs are not NEEDED to keep a station going but always supplement it. (Besides customs which exists solely to piss people off).

The Greys are the only race I say is almost completely useless. Their weaknesses greatly outweigh their one power, which as of now is currently, as noted, difficult to use and difficult to see. I'd suggest either keeping the telepathy power as is and add Telekinesis, or adding those various types of telepathy as suggested in the original post. Either way, the telepathy text should indeed be made a more visible colour.

Should Machine People + Diseases be changed?
Scrat replied to Streaky Haddock's topic in Suggestions
Machine people do not have blood and are completely unaffected by ANY reagents added to the body, the machine person's body mostly just being a giant beaker. As an example, if you injected yourself with water and drew from your body at any time afterwards, you'd get water. That being said, Machine People can be infected with and show symptoms of viruses, but cannot be cured as the cure will not process. Therefore if you have a machine person with gibbing syndrome, they WILL die. And speaking of lethal factors, if a machine person dies, they can be cloned but will stuck with clone damage and defects (IE: Lisp, weak arms/legs, etc) and have no means at all of undoing them. Back on topic, I like this idea. Machine people SHOULD be 'carriers', but not themselves be affected. -
Yeah, karma-required ERT would stem ERT retardedness. Mech pilot ERT would also be useful, but either using a weak combat mech (Gygax?) or a civilian mech (Odysseus or Firefighter ripley) should be done.

A few new places to explore in space would be neat, to offer more to those willing to waste time and air floating through nothingness. Besides that, there should be some more uses for the science outpost, which, while equipped with a fair amount of things, is almost never used save for the odd person trying Xenoarch for the first time (and never again afterward).

Limiting the number of assistants to curb the Grey Tide
Scrat replied to GhostAA12's topic in Suggestions
Actually, the number of greyshirts that can be played is directly tied to the number of active Sec. So if there's a full sec team, there can be many greytides. If there isnt many sec, not so much.
