  1. If anything, feels like the Hologram ability might make an interesting Malf AI ability?
  2. Probably would've wrote one of these sooner if I knew that the forums existed. and also at that point i was a much shyer player so i probably wouldnt have wrote one anyway
  3. changing out Callback Ping (this one was an ability that emagged nearby mini-bots, and were friendly to you) because it feels too situational to be used for a passive ability that serves as the ability you unlock at stage 3 of the tree that lets you eat organic limbs to regain health called High Temperature (arguably more situational, but your claw/sword arm augmentation are going to be very good at delimbing people, and has usability in combat) just think it would be cool and more zombie drone-ish.
  4. i thought project discussion was only for stuff you intended on making yourself? i posted this here specifically because i know i dont have the motivation to code it, but i would like to see this as something on paradise, im open for tweaking and such to make it easier on coders also yeah, this took a fairly big inspiration from changeling/hemomancer, hemomancer mostly the manipulation/usage of blood/organic material (claw arm/some of the stuff for the solver ability), changeling for escape route, drone form, and the sword arm being a better armblade at max level i can TRY to make more original themed stuff but i dont want to get too crazy, i made most of the stuff with 'how hard would it be to code' in mind, i intended for some stuff to be able to be re-used to implement into this, but as i said, i can make it original if it is requested also some of the potentially unoriginal stuff may just be coincidences as most of the stuff here is based off the source material (murder drones), i can give specific references to abilities if youre interested
  5. Randomly felt like writing one of these. I'm TravisAngels, more commonly known on discord as General. I have around 2000 crew hours? Somewhere around there, probably a bunch more on ghost. Characters I'm known for, I'm not suuuper popular but I figure a few people know me: Old main, Nickolas Sholl. (around like, 1500 crew hours?) Current main, Sols Ekko. (around like 200 crew hours at this point? rest of the hours go into throwaway characters or AI ) You may also know me under a few AI names. Mechanical Bird, KittKatt, Xiao, SD-H (current name). I really enjoy playing AI. There's probably more but I forget most of them as sometimes I pick random names. I started playing back in August 2021, got introduced to the game because of being bored during COVID. I try to say I attempt roleplay, but I'm not the best at it, I've always been better at the combat/antag-focused sections of the game. I'm not a perfect person, I do make mistakes, I do fuck up, but I never do it on purpose. Thanks for having me.
  6. Might change some stuff up to make the Solver work more like Telekinesis? The rest of the kit is already pretty strong and if you combine it with stuff from the other trees it could get really strong Either that, or force you into the Solver tree if you take the Solver (but that kinda defeats the purpose of being able to multi-spec, and also would have to account for people multi-speccing and then taking it) Not sure why I bother, given the likelihood of this getting in is very low due to the sheer size of the subclass.   7. It's really hard to do stealthy/gimmicky abilities when more often than not you NEED abilities can help you in a fight, mindflayers aren't super duper strong because of how IPCs are Glad people are at the very least reading it, though (or just clicking on the page lol)
  8. I'm no member of the balance team, the costs may be too expensive and the weapons might be too strong, but it is open to tweaking. I hope this gains atleast a little bit of traction.

Design Document I made for an idea I had for an entirely new Mindflayer Subclass, Solver, a direct inspiration from the Murder Drones series on YouTube, intended to be for people who want a decent mix of combat and stealth abilities that both other trees may force you to pick one, with a fairly big focus on survivability. Not expecting this to get implemented because it feels like it would be complex to code, but I can damn sure dream.   10. So, I'm thinking pens could have a 'use' function where they do the little 'click' thing they do that people get addicted to sometimes and a pen won't write if it's not clicked? I see this as a QoL because it's a little niche thing that people might like the noise of. If this is written incorrectly, apologies.
  11. i've been having an unusual amount of FPS lag since widescreen was added it's not present on other servers and my BYOND is fully up to date, not sure why i would be lagging though.

I was asked to talk about things I like about changelings by mista generaldonuffin cuz I do like them as an antag I like changelings because they have interesting gimmicks with the game you don't normally see, and I'm a huge fan of The Thing. Things I like about changeling is that they are REALLY good at impersonating people they kill given the proper preparations, like talking to your victim before you kill them, so you know how they talk and act without the last 5 lines for you being ";HELP CLING" and "HELP PLEASE" "PLEASE DONT KILL ME". There's also specific abilities that are rarely seen and sometimes good for RP (changeling hivemind interrogation ability). Along with things like landing a really nice stealth kill, I get satisfaction from changeling by deceiving people. Like impersonating a security officer, and sabotaging security from the inside, and I really like to think of my final goal as a changeling is to impersonate the Captain without being caught out immediately. Something else I enjoy as a changeling is the self-resurrection ability, being able to come back from the dead and avenge yourself is really satisfying to get off after losing a fight, often times because I end up getting salty at the loss. I personally think changelings would do pretty well if they worked like tg changelings, from what I've seen tg changelings work in the way that you are killing people to actually impersonate them, instead of just using them to re-roll your abilities or advance your main objective by a singular tally, resulting in a coinflip between the victim staying dead the entire round or actually being found by some random crewmember in maintenance. Summing up my previous statements (AKA TL;DR): Basically what I'm saying is: I like changelings due to their impersonation abilities and roleplay potential, and kind wish that people used absorbing people as a way to prevent themselves from being caught out, and not just being used to re-roll their abilities.
  13. I like the floors, but the reinforced walls I'm just not a fan of. The new normal wall sprites are just fine, though.
  14. Seems like this is going to be a pretty fun event.
