This suggestion is for a possible new midround or event that fires during a round, that would keep the crew on their toes, without fully disrupting them unless the Antag decides to go full loud.
Another boring day on the station, when suddenly an automated announcement occurs.
"Attention, a rogue pathed escape pod is on a collision course with the station, please seek shelter in the interior of the station immediately."
A pod randomly hits an exterior part of the station, and there is an assortment antag chances to spawn and be controlled by Deadchat through a candidate event. (possibly coded by scripting tiles in its path being deleted and spawning the pod/shuttle on top of it)
The pod would serve as a good interruption to boring shifts without being too easy to be handled immediately, or too difficult to stretch out for a while even with massive crew effort.
= Possible Antagonist spawns in the pod =
- Swarmer Beacon (Swarmers will gradually spawn, having the Lavaland variants, but they are unable to replicate, on beacon destruction, no more Swarmers spawn, swarmers must defend the beacon in the pod, and continue to use the materials around the pods initial site to do so, gradually having to expand further out.)
- Xenomorphs (A pod with 3-4 xenomorphs, and a few Facehuggers inside, they have no queen, but will be able to try and form a nest and survive from crew attacks through escaping and rebuilding hideouts.)
- Syndicate Greens (Two Syndicate agents from another station who completed their objectives, will spawn with a standard kit, blood-red hardsuit, pistol , belt, etc. As well as random objective items they stole from the other station let it be useless, or a weapon, such as a case of medals, SM sliver box, Multiphase or CC Pistol , Nanotrasen documents. their only objective is to escape the station at round end, or survive until the end of round.)
- Unstable A.I (A malfunctioning A.I core and two Cyborgs linked to it, one engineer one random, the AI has randomized module laws and ion laws, except for a 0 law which states, 'Survive at all costs.' The A.I could do anything really, but staying at the pods initial site is a bad idea, their borgs can pull them out when they unbolt.)
- Honk/Mime squads (Two pods hit the station this time, one with 4 mime revolutionaries, one with 3 Clown soldiers and an officer, both have only one objective, to take out any of their opposites on the station, this includes the Stations local Clown/Mimes, the crew can choose to let them fight it out and damage a lot of property in the process, or try to stop them.)
- Haunted Pod (Spawns a Revenant and two skeletons tasked with spooking the stations inhabitants and surviving.)
- Rod Pod (Apon someone opening the pod door, a rod ejects from the pod in the direction outwards of the door.)
These are antag possibilities for the pod, but not all of them need to be chosen, while it would take time to code, I think it's very possible to do, anyone willing to code or work on this can, I just think we need a few more interesting events or midrounds.
