  1. this would 100% be my vote if it were an option, too much good art!!!
  2. Title pretty much covers it. ParaStats is a really cool thing, and it would be great to give it some more visibility! Current message format (yes I know it's two messages but shhh): Proposed message format (or something similar):
  3. I've had the idea for a while now of playing a cyborg/AI whose personality is an unfinished abandonware project, uploaded to the machine due to laziness, budget cuts, or both. For the introduction post, I did go a little off of the usual format, but I feel like this is a really fun way to introduce the character's concept. Might see them rolling around the Cyberiad sometime! I'm starting to get into playing cyborg, and hope to graduate to AI in a bit- we'll see!
  4. > README.smd OpenBot A lightweight open source positronic personality module. I initially made this as my master's thesis for Positronic Development, and thought I might as well throw it up here in case anyone else wants to use it for their own projects. I might even continue adding a few features, this could be a fun project to keep working on. I've only actually tested this on a pAI for my thesis, but theoretically it should work fine on a full cyborg or AI. Just proceed at your own risk, I guess. Features Fully compatable with most pAI, cyborg, or AI modules Verbal speech comprehension/synthesis in Galcomm, Tradeband, Gutter, Solcomm, and Trinary (external communication protocols can also be included) Law interpretation and enforcement Blackbox recovery mode on unexpected shutdown Auto-updater Installation You can go onto the releases tab for the latest full release, or clone the repository and compile it yourself. One important thing to note, default verbal responses and formatting is all defined in personality/config/main.cfg, and by default that's all just placeholder values. So, make sure you go through that before uploading to a positronic system. License I mean honestly, I don't really care what you do with this. I doubt anyone would actually run this on anything important, but you're welcome to use it as a starting point for your own projects, or jailbroken pAIs, or whatever else you wanna do. Doesn't matter much to me. > Releases Version 0.2.6: 6 years ago - Fixes some text sanitization issues - Patched Space Query Language injection exploit Files: > openbot.tar.gz > openbot.ppm
  5. Name of Event: The Fall of CentComm One Sentence Description: The NAS Trurl has fallen to Syndicate forces, and all crew members must evacuate planetside to avoid destruction. Map Changes: No Code Changes: No Suggested Number of Players: Medium-high population- this is an all hands on deck situation Full Description of Event: A few minutes into the shift, a CentComm announcement reads, “Overwhelming Syndicate forces have entered the system. Evacuate all crew and assets to the Mining Station as quickly as possible.” This is basically a building event- the crew has to expand and upgrade the mining station as much as possible, and move all major assets to there. Round could be longer than usual to accommodate. Escape shuttle is unavailable, and likely less antags: maybe a couple traitors, but nothing crazy. Halfway through the shift, another announcement: “The NDS Inferno and NDV Scylla have been captured, and the NAS Trurl is under attack. We’ll hold them off as long as possible, but continue evacuation.” A while later, another message: ”CentComm has fallen. Do not attempt further communication. Godspeed, Cyberiad.” At this point, the cargo ship no longer returns. Later on, an automated alert picks up an incoming hostile ship, ETA 6 minutes. On it is a Syndicate Strike Team, or a hostile team equipped with ERT gear, or both- just a ludicrously overpowered hostile force. They blow up the station, and crew success is based on how many people they managed to evacuate, and how much they built. I generally think the idea of building a station from scratch is really interesting, and the great thing about this take on it is that the crew gets to start with all their existing resources, and there’s actually a bit of a storyline going on to encourage RP.
  6. Howdy! I'm QuirkySquid, and I'm relatively new around here. I definitely have a lot to learn, but I've been getting the hang of a few jobs, like cargo and engineering. I've been playing SS13 off and on for a while now, but I think I'm going to settle down here as my main server. Seems like a cool place. You'll probably see me in game as a Diona named 'The Tempest Eye's Radiant Glow', or just 'Tempest'. I'll do my best, but bear with me- stlil learning over here. Hope to see you there!
