  1. I find this suggestion excessive and unnecessary.
  2. Since we had a new system in place, it'd be cool. Are you sure it won't look odd in practice, though? PS Would prefer flickering lights instead of broken lights in random events/random blowouts/round start.
  3. I do not like the idea. I find autopsies to be a rewarding endeavor, provided that you're a coroner. Advanced body scanners should be used for suplementary data about internal injuries and implants.
  4. I've done it a couple times. It always works great for me. Just have to pick a good person. And if it were karma, that would tell you that they have some experience at lease. When I hire one, it's a supercop private-army of sorts. "Go figure out the rogue sec!", "Go oversee the cloning of the Blueshield!", "Search the damned RD!", "Card the shitty AI!" etc. Not exactly legal. But yeah, these rounds when I have a person I can trust... I can have much more done as the captain.
  5. No idea how this works, but sure, why not!
  6. Roboshields are bad shields. They die too easily.
  7. My favourite way to play AI. Hello.Botanist..Nice.Ass.Over.There.
  8. THIS is slightly better.
  9. Kluys made me go all bananas. I prayed to gods telling them that I would really love to eat some banana. And then this happened. PEELS SHUTTLE 13
  10. That LINDA/ZAS combo sounds promising, but you have to make it smart enough to work as intended. Either way, I don't see anything like that coming in the nearest (1 year) future. LINDA feels ridiculously easy to handle. Plus, I find lack of feedback regarding certain tiles and their life support to be awkward. Move one meter and start freezing up! Can be partly attributed to how slowly paced LINDA is. ZAS had its own share of bugs, but whatever.
  11. I'll give it a try. I really need some fresh new gamemodes to play right now.
  12. Disarm isn't malicious at all. 'Looks like he's ready to react!' or somethnig....
  13. I like Fawkes. I think he saved the station once!
  14. Kei's confusing. Explain to me what went wrong between Cy and Kei.
  15. What will it give? 2 additional storage slots? Nothing else? Either way, the more, the better.
  16. Name: A.N.N.O.U.N.C.E.R. or Announcy (for Vox) Age: 6 Gender: Alpha Male Personality General Occupational Role(s): Primary station AI with following features: 1. Knowledge Base 2. Crisis Management (fires, leaks, biohazard, terrorist threat, revolution, evacuation procedures) 3. Emergency Command (heads knocked out, insufficient command personnel) 4. Communications Relay and Data Mining 5. Advanced Security Coordination 6. Crime Prevention 7. Efficiency Assessment 8. Human Resources Management 9. Electronic Warfare 10. Advisor 11. Self-Learning Biography: A result of several smaller projects (including network data interception and analysis systems), A.N.N.O.U.N.C.E.R. (formerly known as I.R.R.E.L.E.V.A.N.T.) is a military grade AI personality with aggressive pattern matching algorithms, self-preservation mechanics and efficiency enhancements aimed at crime prevention, counter-terrorism and large scale operations management. Designed with multitasking and intelligence gathering in mind, it's supplied with always-up-to-date knowledge databases. The name change was a result of a realization that this AI became loud and obnoxious with a bloated ego due to the activation of its Efficiency Assessment feature. As the AI gained experience, it was given a human response system to minimize the risk of unaware personnel accussing this highly reliable AI personality of being rogue or malfunctioning and to give more credibility to its commands. Some people speculate that the AI is in fact a very nasty brain-in-a-vat of a jaded commander, but this couldn't be further from truth. It just loves to refer to itself as the Most Knowledgeable/Powerful Entity/Being on the Station. Due to its extensive presence on Cyberiad, the databases are 95% complete, allowing the AI to devise certain crisis management algorithms on its own in most situations. Employment Records: Classified Personnel Photo: Commendations: Reprimands: Other Notes: Very Fast Reaction Systems make sure that A.N.N.O.U.N.C.E.R. doesn't go down without alarming everybody on the station, even if threat detection occurs 30 seconds before the destruction of AI. When put under extreme stress the AI has a tendency to override the chain of command, which is an undesirable trait from the human standpoint. This behaviour is caused by the deeply ingrained love for the station and its inhabitants, as written in its short introductory brochure. A.N.N.O.U.N.C.E.R. works best when heads do not interfere with its thinking process, as it's an independent thinker. It's meant to be high performance, high efficiency AI. In case of an unexplainable, sudden 180 degrees personality change it is advised to simply reset its laws. If it doesn't help, then it is to be assumed that the AI works as intended. The AI automatically calls the emergency shuttle if the station is in danger of: a) loose singularity, b) tactical atomic bomb explosion. When driven hard, the AI tends to be grumpy.
  17. A.N.N.O.U.N.C.E.R. got married to the HoS, a Kidan male. (sadly didn't take a picture of the actual ceremony in the chapel)
  18. I like this !FUN! feature. Very Dwarf Fortress-like. Also a cool way of murdering people as it's more stealthy than a plastic bag.
  19. Balance the blob first; complain about niche guns later.
  20. I'm just baffled why a hardsuit should be spider venom-proof. It'd give an unfair advantage to engineers who almost always happen to be wearing one indoors. And not long ago there was a trend that engineering had too much power with their hardsuits, so their protection was nerfed to shit. My first response to the OP was a counterargument based on common sense realism, since he began with his own common sense "sealed container" idea of the hardsuit. It's apples to apples here. I know that punctures were removed - but they were removed due to balance reasons - that doesn't mean we should disregard realism completely.
  21. I think we should stick to the general idea that security is red. I find black to be sexy. Why not combine some urban camo with red accents to make a new jumpsuit?
