  1. You may not have been their objective, but you may have been impeding it in some fashion. For instance, if you have the "Steal a Hypospray" objective and there's someone endlessly puppydogging the CMO, it's pretty well-accepted that you can take them out. As for Changelings/Vampires they always have and pretty much always will have the clear to go after their objective in whatever fashion they like so long as it doesn't cause massive station destruction. If you want clarification, PM Regens about the situation and I'm sure he'll explain it to you.
  2. The arguments here about the chaos from dropping a rule for one day are pretty silly. A certain rule is dropped on a certain day every year as a terrible Regens-esque joke.
  3. The issue with xenos is their strength is directly proportional to how proactive the crew decides to be. I'll say what I've always been saying. Even in a heavily infested station, if the crew plays it smart they can cleanse the xenomorphs. If the crew initially didn't even bother to do something as simple as weld vents and wear helmets, they will get rolled.
  4. Mechanics have been on Goonstation a decent while, so I imagine a slightly older version would be in the released code. Goon is still closed (correct me if I'm wrong) and there's only an open version because someone leaked it at one point.
  5. -1. If I'm understanding correctly, you ahelped this, and an admin said "Yeah, they cleared it with me in advance it's cool". There's literally nothing wrong with this scenario. If you're even remotely impeding an antagonist's objective in any form they've pretty much got the all-clear.
  6. + an entire lore rewrite, which is already happening I mean, but. NT is referenced pretty heavily both thematically and within the new lore that's been written so far. Not to mention massive wiki edits.
  7. I've seen them used legitimately. Here's an easy solution. Limit a chatroom to 6-8 participants.
  8. Seems like a great idea to me.
  9. On the potassium/water thing, we already have explosive lances. But a big no to this idea, the one hypospray on station we have already is powerful enough on its own. There shouldn't be more things like it.
  10. Strikes me as odd you got deleted when admins can change player race.
  11. Y'know. Once a person is in crit, they're not fighting anymore. It takes a conscious effort, against a now non-retaliating person to murder anyone.
  12. I'm just going to repeat myself here. It's an oversight. The Tesla was added in after plasmamen and the engineering version of the plasmaman suit was never updated for it. Also, nobody can go into the sing when it's active because no suit provides 100 radiation resistance, on top of being space proof. Tesla was added in after plasmamen were, the suit was never looked at. Plasmamen already have a myriad of cons, and this isn't even remotely a "global buff". It's literally adding tesla immunity to two variants of the suit, suits which can't be obtained from anything other than spawning in at the start of the round. No, it isn't. But nice strawman.
  13. Its was removed because security webbing was removed. So no department have webbing currently. And from antags only vox (t)raiders have webbings. Nukies lack webbings here. It was actually available in atmospherics for at least a month after security webbing was removed, but I think that was an oversight. I remember Engineering ERT members used to get webbing, too.
  14. We used to have webbing. It got removed from engineering at some point, and then later removed from atmospherics too.
  15. I'm just going to repeat myself here. It's an oversight. The Tesla was added in after plasmamen and the engineering version of the plasmaman suit was never updated for it.
  16. I agree with everything but the RCD. You should only be able to fit pocketslot items in it.
  17. Maybe I'm mis-remembering from another server... I swear I've seen it.
  18. Being teslaproof is mandatory for engine maintenance, in the case of emitters being turned off. In the suggestion even, the engine got loose *because* they didn't have tesla immunity.
  19. It used to be in, it got removed when changelings were revamped.
  20. I'd like to see this return, myself.
  21. *Points at Tully* :3c But seriously, I don't think we need this or what it encourages.
  22. Yep. As someone who's worked both in unions and out of, pretty much every workplace (including the unionized ones!) have an overt policy about this. In the unionized workplaces, management isn't unionized and bringing up union matters is going to make the managers make your job hell to try and get rid of you as a pro-union employee who makes heavy use of their union rights/contract is an employee who is a major pain in the ass who creates extra work for you. In a non-union workplace there's pretty much always an agreement somewhere in your hiring package, and failing that there's always at least one document posted up somewhere that specifies the policy on that. A better way to think of it is, having a union seriously impacts the revenue and productivity of a workplace. Therefore a company/corporation always has it in its interest to prevent the formation of one, because once you have a union in place it's almost impossible to get rid of. The cost of firing and replacing one or two employees or creating a union-hostile workplace is infinitely cheaper than allowing a union to form. During recessions, companies will even deliberately lay off far more people than they have to to try and oust unions. They'll shrink a unionized department from fourty to five or so employees (they typically can't get rid of everyone), and make the workload unbearable so the unionized employees have a strong pressure to leave. Once they do, they hire private again. Another tactic is to wait out your union contract until it expires (this generally takes 8 years, 5 years, +3 after expiration is how most contracts work) and stall on negotiations. As long as the contract is fully expired and you're stalling on negotiations, you can hire staff in as non-union and slowly phase out the union this way. tl;dr a union is always bad for a business. A little union is fine and honestly a good thing, the problem is that there's never just a "little union". So yes, you will be fired at most workplaces if you sneeze the word union.
  23. Restrict it to diona. You can explain it away by "I had a flashlight".
  24. Then you have issues with every sprite ever when they inevitably put things in their chest slot. You also now have the issue of "I have no exosuit slot, but have a plasma tank that only fits in the exosuit slot.". And you also remove the one thing that makes the race stand out, which is its iconic suit.
  25. Golden complaining admin. I almost died. Make it so putting them in a gibber gives you a special named gold bar (IE: Jayfeather gold bar).
