I believe at one point (over two years ago) the bulk of the server believed manual detonation was a thing, and to my knowledge nobody even tried until that one time the nuke was broken entirely, meaning nukies couldn't nuke the station. Mostly it's useful for nukies who've neglected/forgotten to bring the code for the nuke or instances where a nuke is absolutely required but administration is not present. Either way, I'm in favour of more boom.
-
I'd personally love to see heart attacks added as a possibility when tased. Certain officers overuse the shit out of tasers and stuns once they have someone down, to the point where it isn't even necessary and is just for being spiteful/dickish.
-
Well that explains the lack of nukes. Making it a crew minor loss instead of a crew minor victory could help alleviate the issue. I'd still like to see manual detonation of the nuke when in possession of the NAD (but not the codes) brought back, along with disarming the nuke. As far as I'm aware, neither of those things presently work.

"Show Player Polls". It's on the same menu where you ready up and select your character. I don't think I've ever seen it used.
-
I'd like to see it added back in, then again I'd also like to see a lot of the gimmick objectives brought back. Whatever happened to "escape with corgi meat"? (I know what happened to it, but still, I want it back!)

Whilst easily influenced, they're still much better samplings than GitHub presently provides. I'm with tzo on this, some of the most active people on the server don't even have GitHub accounts. A lot of the regulars don't even have forum accounts, let alone the extra GitHub account. It provides a heavily skewed version of things where the opinions of a select group of people significantly outweigh everyone else. You can't just say "well sign up for GitHub then", as no small number of people feel like their opinion wouldn't matter anyways, and most people don't have time to keep up to date on happenings on the server itself, the discord, the forums, as well as the GitHub. This is further evidenced by a recent event where people said explicitly that, were told to get a GitHub, and then immediately told their opinion didn't matter anyways because "it's already merged so too bad". If you're worried about vote manipulation/how a round is going affecting the outcome of a vote on a contentious issue, perform 2-3 votes during separate rounds during a day, and you will get a very accurate sample of what people think about something. There's even a polls button on the lobby screen that has sat empty for the past two years (At least, every time I've clicked it it has been).

Tasers have a limited range to compensate for instastun, and honestly? They're arguably one of the least powerful tools in the security's armoury at this point. Disablers are infinite arrange, and even one successful hit slows a target down and makes them hilariously easy to paincrit. This isn't even to bring up the might of the largely underused flashbang, which can be primed, held, and then thrown 7 tiles to instantly pop, stunning everything in a large radius for no small amount of time. Many enemies who are immune to instastun can still be easily taken down with disablers, and kept down quite efficiently.
-
They don't. But they can drink it, apparently.
-
Didn't know! That's still a pain, but at least it doesn't completely invalidate them as an option. As a counter suggestion to my own, what if Vox/Plasmamen had an exception to bite while wearing masks?
-
They have breathing masks, and therefore can't bite anyone without suffocating to death.

What's wrong with being addicted to coffee? the first sip I took IRL made me addicted... I drink it every morning... If a don't, I imagine there's coffee in a nearby nebula... You don't start dry-heaving, fainting, and spazzing out in twitch-fits.
-
I remember this. Like 7 people got stuck over the course of the shift, all of them screaming about MULEbots.
-
Even casual supping of a coffee will quickly get you addicted to it under the new system, leading to fainting, collapse, and dry-heaving. It seems a bit over the top, hence my suggestion is... A) Raise the threshold for addiction B) Dramatically reduce the effects of coffee addiction Or... C) Make coffee non-addictive.

As a fun side note, we already have a written/reasonably polished lore waiting for approval/feedback... http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Shadeyboo Still been waiting on this to be pushed live, or reviewed and given actual feedback on. The only reason it hasn't thus far is because Fox/FoS refuse to even look at it whatsoever despite repeated PM's, direct messages on discord, direct linking through ahelps/bringing it to their attention on OOC, and even getting EarthDivine (and several other admins) to put it forward to them. (Fox just refuses to even acknowledge it/respond to any attempt by any person to make him read it. Why we need his approval, I don't know.). For reference, this has been sitting waiting approval for over five months now without Fox/FoS or a single headmin (aside from EarthDivine) taking a look over it. The "Wiki Dev Team" has been focused on it, but the actual lore page in and of itself is locked and can only be edited by Regens as we're waiting on "approval" or "feedback". AFAIK, the lore as it is has already secured approval from EarthDivine, Tully and Heretic (if I remember correctly). I have received no information/feedback from anyone else on the administrative roster who may have looked at it.

I've been busy with work the past couple months, hence my absence and lack of doing pretty much anything. But now that my vegetable garden is planted, who knows what will happen! (Cucumbers may even happen). I'll have to get back into the server before I make any concerted efforts at wikiwikiwiki'ing it up.

Well... The Chief Nerdlinger of the SOP's Sayin' Shadey can't rap so I'ma make him see What happens when you cross the girl with the golden grills With the razor-sharp raps and the dopest mic skills (you get badmin raps is what happens) Yeah TullyBB be bouncin' 'bout, Makin' SOP and showin' he's got clout, Goin' head to head on them wiki pages, Leavin' a legacy that'll last throughout the ages, So you better watch your back as I be spittin' this ode, 'Cause Jenkins comin' hot with a nuclear code, He'll be slinging bluespace like there's no tomorra' Blast your ass clean off when you fax it an' holla' Showin' Steve what it means to be a real man, With a swagger in his walk 'cause he's got a master plan. 'Cause you ain't a real G 'till you got yourself a list, Of things you can't do 'cause your superiors are pissed Of your beer keg record and reckless disregard For every tenant that they've written and the image that you've marred So lets give it up for this Central boy, Yeah clap your hands and make some noise, 'Cause without Jenkins they'd be lookin' at us And we'd be next in line to throw under the (space)bus. Word.

No. In fact, I'd rather see acute organ infections become incurable by spaceacillin and require transplants. The suggestion to remove/reduce this just allows people to run around whilst heavily injured with no penalty aside from the existing damage - which seems wholly redundant as we're an RP server and the existing mechanic supports just that. As for brain rotting, unless Lemon (I think it was Lemon) didn't unfix it, MMI's can revive brains. I would be in favor of removing brain rotting outright, personally - it's already hilariously shitty to be gibbed and have almost no chance of being revived anyways, only to have your already slim chance taken away (adding insult to injury).

Meeting is 20 minutes prior to me going to work, won't be there.
-
Looks good to me thus far.

I kept it on the forum as it was because the tags were infrequently referenced (seeing as there was nobody working on the wiki in a dedicated manner), and the wiki was edited more or less by a hodge podge of random people interested in doing so occasionally (save a handful of dedicated persons) up until this point.
-
I already have a pretty solid index of pages requiring work. Eventually when I get more into the server again (I'm on a bit of a break) I want to go through and standardize every single job page across the wiki. Here's that index. viewtopic.php?f=43&t=7034

Updated to reflect recent changes.

The engineering one is in the little engineering room north of the lobby, for reference.

They're shock proof---their simens_coefficient var is set to 0....as David demonstrated. Then I'm totally forgetting to wear them 100% of the time. Keep in mind I'm the engineer who wires the engine and sets it all up real fast, but then winds up forgetting to put their gloves on because they're in such a rush and ends up shocking themselves every shift, 7 minutes in when they try to wire backup power. rip But yeah, as I said before - pretty sure the RD gets access to tech storage which haves gloves making this whole shpeel a little moot.
