Realistically, even on Code Green you can laser the shit out of a hulk if it's bashing walls down. This is primarily because someone who has hulked has provided you with literally no other options for containing them whatsoever.

Missing a few important things here. Platform and method, primarily. Straight text, or VC? Roll20, Skype, or some other platform?

To clarify on the matter of biological waste. If there is a virus around, blood, bile, mucus, and other such substances can in fact aid the spread of the virus by providing alternative means to spread.

Once I have some time off work and my internet is working again (my modem exploded), if you don't mind I'll work with you and go through and edit up the page a bit, format it and so on and so forth. I was thinking we could personally utilize the existing SoP page, and have a departmental section that links to seperate departmental pages listing SoP sorted by job, and have the job pages (rather than list SoP) link to the pertinent section of the SoP wiki page. Also interested in changing the numerics to bulletpoints. Would look a lot cleaner, just let me know.

Issue with your layout is it requires bodies to be placed directly infront of a doorway, and you need to block a door to effectively use the console, David. I also believe the nerf to one cloner/one cloning tube was deliberate and won't be changing any time soon.

Should synthflesh slow/stop IB in place of styptic powder?
Shadeykins replied to Crazylemon's topic in Suggestions
You can already counteract the effects of IB's by using a combination of two chems. 1 - Perfluo will generally buy you enough time to perform surgery by halting oxyloss. 2 - Iron will buy you time by replenishing blood as it's lost, and combined with an IV works quickly enough to fully counteract IB's (and buy you even more time). -
I played Texas Hold'Em as a Wiznerd a week ago. I swear I wasn't using magic to cheat! *wheeze*

The tubes need to be directly adjacent to the console AFAIK, so you could 'techincally' have six and the scanner though it'd be heavily clustered. I prefer clone shunting, personally (which is toggling the APC to force a clone early, then shove them in cryo to finish them).
-
The doors to the cloner are tagged as requiring basic medical access. If you have front door access, you currently have cloner access. You may be thinking of the detective/chaplain/roboticist, who have morgue access but not basic access (and therefore can't access the cloner).
-
To be perfectly honest with you, if you've gotten past the first set of doors someone has responded to you asking to be let in, be it a person or the AI. You exclusively play IPC's in my experience, and you seem to be talking about bodies that either require defribs (something that many doctor's don't seem to know how to work), or cloning, not bodies that require cryo - even the worst doctor's will shove people in cryo immediately, even if they're dead - it's sort of one of the hallmarks of a greytidey doctor to exclusively use cryotubes. If you got in without asking, it's because you have tools or access - and if you have tools or access, the second set of doors aren't going to hinder you even remotely (it takes all of .5 to 1.5 seconds to hack a door open). @Knightedskull During an emergency without a doctor, you're already screwed. A rogue AI will enable medbay lockdown and disable power, making the second set of doors irrelevant anyways, and your argument moot. Bomb? Cloner and cryo are already taken out in one go. You severely overestimate how much protection a non-reinforced wall provides against a bomb, they're basically butter to explosives. As for the light, keep in mind this is a mock up, and not an actually mapped thing - this is me playing with layers in a photo editor. I'll reiterate that if anything, this should make geneticists (which is the primary goal here) more solidly responsible for the well being of medbay.

As an aside, and I'm not sure if you've done it or not - but you should have a full compendium of Science's SoP on a single page and not merely scattered throughout the job pages. From my observations security is lacking one, and it makes it hard to locate. If you make a full page listing Science SoP, and one for Security SoP I'll take the time to edit the main SoP page to reference both of those, and further references to the individual job pages within each SoP segment. I'm also personally in favour of removing SoP from job pages entirely, and having job pages instead link to the pertinent part of a page with a full list of Standard Operating Procedure for that department. Food for thought.

For reference, where is the Security SOP on the wiki located? It's got to be labeled poorly, as I can't find it and it's not referenced in any pages that I know of.

Updated once again. Removed the excess alarm/APC (so it's a singular room), and added in a chem fridge. My point about those Western doors still firmly stands.

Make it require bone gel. Problem solved.

Not really a big thing, but as a lot of AI players like to use it at the start of almost every round and it's very much out of place... Remove the .ogg for the string that says "Hello, the automatic diagnostics announcement system would like to welcome you to Space Station 13, blahblahblah". I'm posting this suggestion on the basis that we're intended to be medium RP, not zero/low RP and that a clear cut reference to the game is not only out of place, but makes no sense whatsoever for an AI to even speak of (since again, this is supposed to be a roleplay server). It's also lead very much to the misidentification of the station's name, and I've personally seen a definite rise in people referring to the station as "Space Station 13" rather than the "NSS Cyberiad" as the line sees more and more use.

It would also allow for people to steal identities in a very basic fashion without being completely op, as things such as bloodtype, DNA and fingerprints would not change (and could easily be verified). dont want it to be too basic, we dont want random people with the right ghetto tools forcibly renaming other people into inappropriate names and voices. i want to stick with the ID with the desired name on it to be required, it still lets traitors do it since they can have a renameable ID. or just use the spare captains ID and literally be named the captain Then don't allow it to be ghetto'd. Should be as easy as checking which tool is being used to finish the surgery.

Not only this, but sometimes medical is overwhelmed, but the person that brought them in can at least get them into cryo; this would prevent that and likely increase the amount of deaths. Not a fan of locking out the entirety of cryo. If people can get past the front doors in an emergency, they can easily get past the second set of doors. This makes the sealed doors argument moot. You already have to come through a set of doors to get into medical, and if you can get through that set, you have the means to get through the second set. In an emergency, the AI or any borg (or anyone with tools) is easily capable of bolting the doors open, or throwing them into emergency access. What the doors do is keep the cryo area blissfully free of greytide, keeps clones from running off before you give them mannitol, keeps people from looting the belongings of cloned bodies, and stops people from patient stealing. As for the every second counts argument, defibs take a very small amount of time to use, and if the person has died before you get there it's because they're either taking toxin, or respiratory damage - both of which you can defib a person from. It's also standard practice to stabilize a critical patient prior to cryo (namely because a patient with another drug + cryoxadone heals a hell of a lot faster), and I know of no competent doctors who don't carry some basic chems on them (such as salbut, and charcoal) to do just that.
-
Not really. This could be as simple as a surgery that opens a text prompt on the finishing step, allowing you to write in a name. It could also be as simple as checking the ID card presently equipped on the person, which should not be hard to do.
-
this would literally make the disabler useless.
-
Pretty much that, yeah - there's an extra set of doors on the west end between the tubes and the cloners. If anything this makes the area feel more or less seperate from the rest of medbay and should incentivize geneticists to help out. If I recall prior to redoing the medical, cloning and genetics guides handling cryo was also part of the geneticist's job as it tied into cloning.

Different antag preference selections for Nuke Ops.
Shadeykins replied to Scrat's topic in Suggestions
I can potentially see an issue where a group of people don't have prefs enabled for commander, but have prefs for nukies and the round type isn't selected because there's no eligible players for commander. Otherwise I support this. -
Since the tubes run off of cold gas and that gas being cooled by a freezer, the issue at hand would be the freezer turning off. The tubes would still work, you'd just need to reactivate the freezer every time you shunted a clone. @Dumbdumn5 Which you have to do already if the AI doesn't open the doors.
