Mannitol (10 units) ---> Mannitol (10u) "units" contracts to the listed number, and simply becomes "u". It writes cleaner, and takes up less space allowing for chemists to tag prefixes on without having to do full rewrites. For instance, one could write BRAIN - as a prefix, which would parse as... BRAIN - Mannitol (10u) Whereas BRAIN - Mannitol (10 units) is too long, and will default to Mannitol pill. Change provides utility, and looks cleaner and more professional.

* Established index of pages that require work. * Updated Guide to Cadavers for new changes to NO_SCAN. * Updated main guides page, resized icons (all 32x32 now), changed some icons, and fixed some formatting consistency/capitalization issues. * Reformatted Security Items page, added sectioning, changed some descriptions, removed 50px formatting, uploaded new icons. * Uploaded new icons for main guides page, so there isn't a bunch of guides that all use the paper icon now.

This here is for any pages that are outdated, make references to irrelevant/no longer present content or are simply unfinished/incomplete. The idea here is that any requests for reworks on guides or presently outdated pages are posted here, where I'll make an index of any and all pages requiring work so that anyone can catch a quick glance at this index and move from there. The end goal is to make sure the wiki is complete and polished with up to date information (which honestly, should be a top priority). I'd ask that you post a link to any page that's not up here that needs work (I'll add it to the index), and that you do the same for any page you edit and polish up to completion (so I can mark it as complete). *note: updates to lore pages beyond simple things like formatting/typos/etc (actual content) require approval from headmins, and won't be listed here. if you're interested in working on lore pages, please post here and make a copy of the lore page on your userpage, and edit it there (then provide it so it can be passed on to the headmins). viewtopic.php?f=43&t=7033 ==PAGES REQUIRING UPDATES== http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Wizard (New spell content is not present on the page) http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Shadowling (Inconsistent formatting compared to other antag pages) http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Xenomorph (Inconsistent formatting compared to other antag pages, irrelevant referencing) http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Nuclear_Agent (Requires updating for war content, along with general polish and not Baystation content) http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Changeling (Inconsistent formatting compared to other antag pages) http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Shaft_Miner (Could stand to be condensed, and have most of the information ported to a "Guide to Mining") http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Gui ... enobiology (This is linked from the "Xenobiologist" in the job pages. Xenobiologist lacks a job page. Also has needless strikethroughs. Could stand to have a rewrite) http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php?title=Starter_Guide (Looks outdated, and still references Baystation 12, could do with a touch up, or maybe a overhaul.)

Just putting this up to get feelers more than anything, after perusing some of the other wikis that are out there and the lore that's available on other servers, there's a lot of extra little details that really builds the world and makes it feel like an actual entity, whilst ours seems to be a hodge-podge of (mostly Bay) other people's lore. Any thoughts on how to flesh out the actual backstory/grounding a bit more? I imagine working on "Competing Corporations" a bit more would be a solid start, but Nanotrasen in and of itself could use a hit of extra lore. What's the corporate structure, for instance? How does it compartmentalize itself? Bay has great little segments on things like this, as well as pages that tell us exactly how the galaxy is governed, what sort of third parties there are, so on and so forth. If we're serious about pulling the server back to medium (because whilst it's doing better, it's still very much on the low end of the spectrum) the lore is the best place to start, since it'd allow people to actually build relevant backstory, reference current galactic politics/players, and so on and so forth. Reading through the lore should be a fun and engaging experience, I feel like ours is a bit dry. I know Tully is presently working on SoP which ties into this somewhat, too (as it allows us to catch a glimpse into the expectations of the corporation itself). http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Earth http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php?tit ... &redlink=1 http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php?tit ... &redlink=1 http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php?tit ... &redlink=1 http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Tau_ceti A couple examples of pages completely lacking in lore, and have been for several years now. http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Epsilon_Eridani An example of a page that could use more lore. http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Epsilon_Indi And an example of a page with some interesting, well-fleshed out lore. Discuss.

I have to seriously wonder whether or not Jonah is actually into Zeke, or whether this is all fanfic. Everything I know about Tully is being brought into question.

* Updated the job guide for Chef. Cleaned it up and added in a bunch of referencing, clarification, and some useful tips regarding animals.
-
* Fixed the Guide to Food and Drinks listings for different food related recipes. Unified formatting and capitalization, changed inconsistent unit measurements, made unit measurements obvious, removed duplicates in microwave section. Didn't touch the Candy Maker section, I have no idea what the hell the numbers refer to (measurements of 5? Exact measurements??), but I can never get it to work. RIP. Someone who knows how the hell to make candy can edit that section. Hopefully new chefs can spend less time scratching their head and wondering what the hell the actual measurements are.

As it stands, the Tesla engine is a no-brainer when it comes to engine choices. Provides just as much power, and is far safer than the singularity. Requires no maintenance either. I think a decent way to balance it out would be to dramatically drop it's power output to below levels required to fully power the station, so that it requires solar array hookups in order to power everything. This would mean the Tesla would still be the SAFER option, but also require a bit more work. Whilst the Singularity would be a more DANGEROUS option, but be capable of powering the station on it's own. Thoughts?

Succesful stealthops round, nobody even knew we were on station and we didn't fire a single bullet in getting the disk. We started off by getting DNA scramblers, chameleon jumpsuits, ditching our gloves and boots, and taking the encryption keys out of our headsets. We all silenced our pistols, got some adrenaline implants/thermals and a few emags, and away we went! We stole a teleporter board, moved the shuttle north and teleported to arrivals which resulted in five random ass civs/engineers teleporting on top of the chef who was holding the beacon for some reason. The chef had no fucking clue what was going on. We then proceeded to rush to the locker room, get new headsets and slot encryption keys into plain radios. We poked around a bit on the station, ascertained that the disk was somewhere in security - I broke into tech storage, stole a camera monitor board and set it up to verify that the disk was most likely in a box under the custody of the warden. Another operative hacked their way into the airlock in sec maint and made a hidden cubby in the atmospherics room where we all met up, and we decided it'd be best to set a bomb up near the bar to distract security while we rushed for the disk. Bomb went off, we gave it 10-15 seconds and every last security officer (including the warden) left sec. We just popped adrenaline implants, emagged our way in and gotdatfukkendisk. Went back to the ship, one of the ops forgot his suit so we brought it back for him and set the nuke in the atmospherics cubby in sec maint. A swarmer at this point was tearing down the walls, got halfway to tearing down the walls and saw a full ops team standing infront of a live nuke. The swarmer just paused for a good five seconds before going "lolnope" and ran the hell away. Twenty seconds to the nuke going off I turned on the intercom radio in the shuttle and we all started yelling "YOU JUST GOT DONKED"

Glare works better, provides relatively the same stun, has a lower cooldown, and doesn't cost blood.

Now I only need to arrest Kei, dress him up as a maid, pet him, and feed him catnip. Good kitty.

+1. I don't see any downsides to this suggestion.

So! First time I've actually ever gotten to play Vampire, and this ability leaves a lot to be desired. It takes two seconds to pop, costs twenty blood annnd... Provides a stun that lasts for about 4 seconds. If you're able to hold a person for two seconds, chances are you're trying to use this ability to incapacitate them and stop them from screaming so you can drain them. It's functionally useless, since glare or a stunprod provides basically the same length of stun and neither of those require a person to hold still for two seconds. My proposal is to either lengthen the stun time or turn it into a muting ability so it's got a solid use. Ideally it should be mean you get slightly less usable blood from a victim (since you use some) in exchange for keeping them from screaming.

* Made some serious edits to the vampire page, as much of it was outdated, poorly formatted, and had some interesting language/poor strategies on how to actually be successful as this antagonist.

He already has that in here, I think. -

10u of Whiskey is enough to make you start slurring, which is two sips. -
Yeah, this. Though I suppose the satchel potentially negates this? Either way, the suggestion was to get people to stop putting everything in a pill bottle, then putting the pill bottle in the fridge (which helps nobody).

Everyone typically uses the beds right near the sleepers. The beds are mostly used by SSD doctors.

An exit checkpoint more or less guarantees that any traitor with a theft objective gets caught, and gives a great opportunity for last-minute validing. You're literally proposing that traitors who are discreet and make their way to the shuttle without being arrested should be caught, and forfeit their objectives for the implementation of something that just wastes people's time and frustrates them so a infinitesimally small (but seemingly vocal) minority of players can have fun at everyone else expense. Why would you want this?
-
Detains needs to be changed to either retains, or maintains.
-
Everyone already hates tcomms scripts, adding on a swear filter is insult to injury.
-
Uh. No. This wasn't removed because the administration/maintainers arbitrarily decided to remove it. This was removed because everyone hated it and petitioned specifically to have it removed. Customs basically allows someone who's spent a bit of karma to arbitrarily deny you from taking part in the round simply because you didn't join prior to the round starting. It's over the top and completely unnecessary.
-
This isn't a rule, by any stretch; if people want to be antags and not do much of anything, then they reserve that right to. I know a good many people actively refuse to do specific types of objectives---and some will only antag if they get a particular objective, as well. Likewise, people change their minds; maybe they weren't initially interested in going for their particular objective, but changed their mind, later on. 6. Play antagonists responsibly: If you’re selected for an antagonist role, then treat it as an interesting challenge...[etc] In the first line of Rule #6. It goes on to state... Keep to your objectives, they’re there for a reason. It is heavily implied that if you're an antag, then you should probably be an antag. If you don't want to be an antag/are averse to antagonist objectives, there's really no good reason to have the preference enabled. If you don't like your objectives and don't want to be an antag that round, you can ahelp it. There's literally no reason not to ahelp it, in this instance - there's tons of other people who would be more than happy to do your objectives and get a shot at being an antagonist. IRRESPECTIVE OF THAT, THIS IS TO ADDRESS PEOPLE WHO SEEM TO BE UNAWARE THEY GOT ANTAG (MISSED THE MESSAGE, ETC), NOT PEOPLE WHO GET ANTAG BUT DON'T WANT TO PLAY AS ONE.

This is pretty simple, and QOL. Nobody likes pill cases being shoved into the fridge, like ever. They already pick up everything with a click, but to empty them into the fridge you need to click & drag. Modify the behaviour to be the opposite. To put the pillbottle in the fridge, click & drag, to empty it simply click on the fridge. This will keep new chemists from putting pillbottles in the fridge (which is a pain), and let old chemists stock the fridge with 50% less carpal tunnel.
