  1. I suggest that certain jobs be given slightly more access to areas than they currently have. As an example: You are a paramedic. There is a scientist dying in toxins. You rush to the scene to save him, but you don't have access to science. "AI, open door!", you say. The door remains closed. You ask the roboticist to open the door, but he doesn't even glance your way as he's assembling a Ripley. You run to the other side and ask a researcher to open the door to no avail. Finally, you hear the HoP state that his/her desk is now open. You run over and ask for basic entry into some departments and common areas. The HoP replies, "Just ask the AI to open it for you". You run to your paramedic room and check your crew monitoring console. The scientist is long dead, their body still in toxins. You insert yourself neatly into your wardrobe locker and go SSD. The moral of the story? Insufficient access to certain areas renders some jobs obtuse and sometimes downright annoying. In the context of roleplaying, it makes little sense that a paramedic or security officer couldn't at least access certain department lobbies. The argument against additional access on these jobs might be due to concerns regarding traitors and/or griefers, but it does not fit within the RP perspective to plan against those, since they should not be normally occurring. Thoughts? I may be biased because I dislike being at the AI's mercy for the ability to do my job, so it's possible I'm in the minority.
