keep the ic rules on excessive force and ooc rule on validhunting, but don't bwoink people for dunking antags who start shit, make hostile antags valid oocly for sec even if non lethal options are there (ic punishments still apply) this takes all the "will i get banned" guesswork out of antag dealings, reduces admin workload, and lets situations go in more directions than the current rules allow

gamemodes can be objectively observed as more or less mechanically dynamic and variant which as a rule of thumb correlates to enjoyment in an emergent multiplayer game

https://github.com/ParadiseSS13/Paradise/pull/8926 not the overhaul the mode needs, but this is an alright bandaid imo

getting thralled should ghost you in favour of a ghost taking your body go that getting thralled intentionally isn't a thing, it's evident beyond a doubt the issue will never be solved at a player level slings have too many get out of jail free cards, they can't die unless they fuck up. remove some of them reconsider being able to thrall through mindshields, slings are already the strongest conversion antag without it. maybe make it a limited ability ascension is fine

Make it So You can't Resist grabs while Stunned
Coldflame replied to SkeletalElite's topic in Suggestions
neckgrab is a free kill, most forms of stun are long enough to secure a neckgrab this just makes combat even more stun focused tbh -
I think this has some balance implications worth considering but that aside: It'd probably be more intuitive and enjoyable were this role an officer with access to tools/sec hardsuit/materials rather than an engineer based in security (a la brig phys). Giving them the dual role of brig improvements and that of a field engi (tactical breaches and such) would make it a dynamic and interesting role. I can't forsee this having great powergaming potential honestly outside of making the brig more secure than it already is. 'Security Technician' might be a better idea for the name. An engineer in security brig-phys style wouldn't be a very interesting role to play longer term tbh, it would likely involve doing the same constructions every round. Rolling it into pilot could be a decent idea but I'm unsure what this would bring to the table in that case outside of buffing a role that's already officer+.

sleeping carp and several other uplink items were never meant to meet, hence it being traitor-only and expensive

cons outweigh the pros here in my book

actual armour is already next-to-cosmetic, makeshift armour wouldn't be worth using

i've been told by admins killing people for absorbs is completely valid, though that might not be official policy (?) lings should either be clearly defined to be a traitor style 'do your objectives' or a wizard style 'do whatever' antag, they're at an awkward point in the middle right now
-
antag tokens should only given out if the round was ruined for the antags in a reasonably preventable way introducing upwards of six antag tokens every time the server crashes will create an 'economy' that doesn't need to exist and inflate antag numbers, especially during peak- as well as creating an administrative nightmare for the staff involved

>commit various crimes using tools >security take your tools so you can't

honestly the only real downside to this is incorporated into them having secHUDs letting them update records might mean records actually get updated and gives IA something to do other than stir shit i'll stick a PR for this up after the feature freeze

safe cracking isn't a skill people should be expected to learn tbh, and even when you know how you can be there upwards of five minutes

I tested an uplink's worth of C4 on both the safe and the tile the safe was on and got the exact opposite result, but my copy of the code is somewhat out of date, so i assume the X-4 PR made the safe destructable. In that case this isn't *too much* of an issue though it's still a way to force ops to reset the disk and potentially still brickwall them if they happen to not have any C4. Vault safe being an invalid disk location (after the freeze) might be the best solution here, since there's no real reason to put the disk in there aside from cockblocking otherwise successful nuke teams.

the safe is impenetrable short of something on the tier of the singularity

rev is better

NT could still have constructed the station/constructed most equipment and software onboard, perhaps? It's as good an excuse as any to keep the logo plastered everywhere. A major change like this could be as good way to freshen up the server and provide a reason for some of the older players who've left over the last few months to come back.

the xeno gamemode literally does not function regardless, as a gamemode xeno would be a complete stomp one way or the other
-
people would 'accidentally' get hugged every other round

as a rule of thumb, unless one of the people involved in a situation is an antagonist, nobody should die

Suggestion for rules regarding search of SSD players
Coldflame replied to Angelo85's topic in Suggestions
If there are situations where admins will give the OK consistently then they should be noted in the rules as acceptable actions.
