as a frequent cargo tech and scientist, the ore redemption spam is actually pretty helpful since its obnoxious nature gets your attention. we get very tired of being asked "do you have minerals yet" when you have a perfectly good ore announcement system in your request consoles. as much as i agree with this it would be hard to implement due to how shitty the display consoles are. they're small and can barely display one word at a time. you can grow it in the public garden at arrivals or just make your own dirt plots in cargo. pretty sure the standard seed crate has tower spores. pretty sure that would be spammable but hey it's not a terrible idea otherwise agreed for the most part plant bags, trash bags and ore bags do this. the ore redemption machine and slime processor suck up things nearby too. im not sure where else it would be necessary. yes it is. if not a fully lit one then the butt and burnt matches at the very least can go in there for a fact.

But it won't. It's as simple as a joining announcement, like the spooky Halloween one, allowing these names. Using it as an excuse to use names after Halloween is like saying 'because we used nations last round i can murderbone' It then goes back to normal enforcement, and it isn't especially hard to enforce. youre applying reasoning to a player base that largely lacks it due to the quantity over quality policy we have currently. trust me, just ask to spawn costume vendors or something. or do some dumb vampires vs wizards shit.

they aren't talking about it being a gamemode, they're referring to the Cyberiad / Paradise's interpretation itself being an independent station with lore and game mechanics.

maybe not scientist specific. people will always use memechems when given the chance. or they'll use it in conjunction with memechems. it can be sorta like the hungry toolbox, maybe. that much damage needs a very heavy con minus it being unconcealed.

this sort of lore really is character-dependent, every story is different and cant really be pointed to at a wiki article tho to be fair we havent had decent rp in months

maybe make this more of a medical-related job and have them fuck around primarily with organs and animals. they can use cores if the xenobiologist/RD feels like sharing, but they dont run out of things to do if they dont get science materials. that way nobody feels like science is being buffed, and medical gets a well-needed interesting feature. i imagine the benefits'll be sorta like when the virologist or geneticists feel like sharing their hard work. maybe genetic instability can play a part in it too just to keep it from going too off the rails. maybe those horrifying multi-species-limbed creatures can have a use now.

I have actually been fucking around with making maps and whatnot - or more accurately, fiddling with the map maker to edit maps. I'm pretty much 100% down to building from the ground up if a team is ever patched together.

Here's a list of all the languages, including keys used to talk in them and a brief explaination of what to expect when you hear someone speaking in it over Common. Siik'Tajr - :j - Often used to discuss home life or plans on-board the station. Tajarans speak this. Canilunzt - :7 - Always used to discuss drama on-board the station between other Vulpkanin and/or crewmembers in general. The infamous Vulpkanin speak this. Sinta'Unathi - - Used to complain about their personal lives, or how few Unathi there actually are on-station nowadays. Skrellian - :k - You will never fucking hear this. There are never enough Skrell players on one shift to justify them using their own language. Rootspeak - :q - Used between Diona as a way to express their disgust at the world around them, and also to bitch about how slow they are. Chittin - :4 - "Are there any other Kidan on-board?" Vox Pidgin - :v - Always used to discuss nefarious deeds or to shit-talk dustlungs. Get the AI to translate it ASAP. You never know what they might be up to. Bubblish - :f - Slimes use their own language to discuss what flavour they are. That's literally it. Don't even worry about it. If the AI translates it, chances are it comes up as nonsense. Psionic Communication - :^ - You will never hear this over common, nor will you hear it in person, because it isn't a spoken language. If there's a group of Grey sitting around in total silence (unlikely), be very afraid. Trinary - :5 - Walk around with EMP grenades or the ion rifle just to strike fear into the hearts of the IPC crewmembers, because Trinary is almost always used to talk about some form of Synthetic Revolution. Orluum - :% - You'll never hear this, because Drask died out about as quickly as they arrived.
