-1 Got to be honest, the 'spin up' of Science and Mining shuttle being gone is a blessing. It was super annoying and didn't always work, at least once I know of a bug that would happen if the shuttle was canceled and forced at almost the same time that would duplicate the shuttle making it impossible to move them. If you want to stop the shuttle from being used, remove the console at the other end.

I think it's been discussed but never implamented, there is a bonus points for station being fully powered, though I'd hardly say wiring all the solars should be a requirement for 'did their job', especially when all it takes is a single meteor to catastrophically break an entire array. Engineering 'doing' there job is difficult to fairly judge, as bombers and other various events poke holes in the station and ruin things, and note very engineer knows how to properly fix and return an area back round start conditions (see: every time MedChem, SciChem or Toxins blows up.)
-
Mmmm, this is good news indeed. Hopefully abductors are somewhat uncommon so they happed on occasion but not every round. Looking at you admins who adminbus'd yourself in as blobs after the blob update. Five rounds in a row.

Lots of people don't know how to play the game, I've seen shifts where Captain and HoS freaked the fuck out over a 'blue' APC and went to red alert and were about to purge the AI when the CE finally made his way over and pointed out it was charging, not a BSOD APC. Besides, first thing any good player should do when they see a BSOD APC is examine it, if the functions are unlocked then its an emag, if its just BSOD with the locks still in place its malf.
-
I'm pretty neutral on the idea but it could be like fake insuls where there is a 'it doesn't look x' message at the end of the shift examine window. And upon actually being physicall interacted (viewed with a left click open hand, or ID swiped, hit with any item) the decal would pop off and APC return to normal.

Honestly I'd just want the QM office moved back behind the cargo office, similar to how Warden's office isn't exposed to lobby. Mining could be rotated to trade some places for the office or something else could be placed there.

Vox page not written from perspective of Vox. -5/10 skrekurity meats make you bruisie.

Singuloth is just the easiest to work with, it's also the easiest to sabotage. The rule against releasing singulo, while sensible and shouldn't be removed, does somewhat undercut that con and Singuloth should have had it's effectiveness reduces because of this, but we've apparently decided to just remove 1 of the downsides without a kicker.

Remove the Die a Glorious Death objective.
davidchan replied to FlattestGuitar's topic in Suggestions
Eh, I'd rather not go to RP/Open objective traitors. Aurora had those and stuff got snowflakey real fast when obvious tators got caught and then started freaking out in looc/forums that who ever caught them was meta/powergaming. If you're a traitor and your objectives are boring/not something your interested in, you can always try praying or ahelping to get a new set of objectives. Your mileage may vary but expect something rather silly if you do get an admin to play along. Otherwise just ignore them. It's not like green or red text gets tracked or gives you karma. Greentexting traitors rarely get karma unless they do something spectacular with their time in my experience. -
+1 For making engineering a fun job again and not just a routine checklist. Would also approve of random events (or not so random accidents) of the power and atmos grid requiring periodic maintenance as stuff breaks down. Ya ya ya, more work, but maybe giving Engineers more than 5 minutes worth of work would mean they wouldn't go SSD if they weren't antag.

The only place that would even be remotely balanced would be to put telescience in the bridge teleporter room or nearby (shunting gravity back to engineering maybe?) Make it a Bridge/Command access room, So Captain, Heads of Staff, Blueshield and NT Rep (And Magistrate?) would all have access to it. Protocol would be much how gateway is now, Captain's permission should be sought before fiddling with it, but if someone wants to fiddle with it they can request access to the room. Would make for a very interesting play if a Blueshield knew how to work it (or had someone show them) so they could recall heads to them as needed (so long as they don't have the disk) It's not terribly hard to hack into teleporter or gravity generator as it stands right now, so an antag that wanted to use it could easily bust their way in, but the close proximity to the bridge and tell tale sound of the telescience gear working would make it likely HoP, Captain or anyone on the bridge would hear and be able to investigate.
-
Telescience is still in the code, the starter equipment was removed because people were abusing it to steal anything not bolted down/accelerate antag objectives without using any antag resources (teleport a murder target to your pad, promise to send them back because accident then shunt them into deep space, ect...) Telescience right now requires RnD to be completed to at least bluespace 6 as well as miners bringing back diamonds and/or 5+ bluespace crystals to build the machinery. Also, giving Science their own teleporter on the network is a terrible idea, you'd have people gunning right for voidsuits and the hand tele at round start regardless of antag status or not.

Remove research console access requirement
davidchan replied to GelatinousGlob's topic in Suggestions
Don't forget the HoS. It never ceases to amaze me how many shitler HoS's will use RnD as their own personal armory and restock. HoS has more control over RnD than the RD. If this seems okay to you, I don't understand this game anymore. -
I've always wondered why there isn't a 'public' Science division disposal bin/outlet in the main hallway that would allow Cargo to deliver items directly to science and allow them to sort/fight over materials as needed. Bonus points if the chute could recognize the materials being sent and ping the science consoles accordingly. Also, why the hell would xenobio's need materials? Chem lab prints plasma.

Did we really just port these abominations? Ugh...

There is one improvement for nations that could go into effect immediatly and make life better for everyone. Delete nations code and never speak of it again.

On what server do you play on that the skipjack is difficult to raid? Any one with a space suit can get to it. Anyone can push the button on the airlock. Anyone can waltz right in, steal all their ship and then flood the entire thing with the plasma canister to flood the place with toxins. And yes, on more than a few occasions the shuttle has been moved or sent away from the station for keks. The suggestion isn't asking for the skipjack to be able to do strafing runs on the station and kill people. All that is being asked is something more effective than a 'Private Property, Keep out skreks" sign to stop the valid salads from grabbing a softsuit and breaking out a window so they can 'explore' space and metagame of the 5 possible spots the skipjack can park. 2 (possibly 3) parts of the Involate even support Vox defenses on the ship. Waste as little as necessary.Preserve materials. and to a lesser extent Adapt and expand to all circumstances. you expect me to believe the greedy species that will do anything and everything they can to get fleece, steal and acquire all the shinies they can get would leave their ship parked practically next to their current target without locking the door or leaving a guard dog of some sorts behind to protect all their other loot?

I've always wished that some version of Nibbles(Worm) or Tetris could be played on the PDAs to pass the time. As for laptops, detective can get decent use out of them, nobody else really needs them.
-
That doesn't make sense, if you weren't supposed to board it they'd just have teleporters. The Pod Pilot at the very fucking least should be able to get within line of sight of the nuke ship and not get his pod blown to hell in a matter of seconds.

Most of the racial pages are out of date or just plain wrong. Cyborg page could use a pass as well (miner borg still states it has a jackhammer, it uses a drill now, probably a few other things on the page I'm not aware of)

Make the Clown's Shoes immune to banana peel slipping
davidchan replied to Edd's topic in Suggestions
-1. Clown is supposed to be funny, entertaining and self-humiliating at times if need be. Allowing the clown to set up a bunch of bananas in the escape hall and just run past them is nonsense, at least golashes can be somewhat replicated by the walk intent. -
While I appreciate atmos techs trying to do something useful and making the turbine do somethign other than burn off extra plasma. Stop asking for diamond tier parts 5 minutes into a round when there are no miners active Four or Five rounds straight I've had atmosia harassing me for parts I simply did not have the resources to gather. If you want shiney Quad lasers, Bluespace bins and quantom capacitors, get mining out on the rock gathering 20 gold, silver, uranium and plasma as well as 5-20 diamonds and some sand and iron ore for glass, metal and plasteel.
-
This guide is suspect. Next your gonna say science's job is to max research and upgrade the station, not blow everything up and flood the escape hallway with plasma.

Just checked it, definitely does not unbuckle you if you aren't cuffed/restrained. IE stand on chair, drag sprite onto chair, click resist and you don't unbuckle until you click the chair again.
