    Cargo Revamp

Maybe allow cargo to blacklist certain items from autobuying as well.

    Cargo Revamp

Replace cargo points with an actual budget. It can encourage the crew to use their own bank accounts which are hardly ever touched saved for the detective buying a laptop on occasion as well as random snacks when the chef is't doing their job or is non-existent in the first place. The department funds would actually gain a use for requisitioning supplies as well. Another idea I had was for cargo able to fulfill various contracts by shipping good off station. I.e "Planet X requires 4 Grey Slime Extracts for Reason $1500". to help encourage crew members to do their job and earn cash for there accounts which could be used for purchasing goods or even just a personal score at the end of the round and encouraging the crew to interact with cargo outside of random wants. Any other proposals and criticism would be encouraged as this is a very rough idea.

  4. I do like these changes. The inability to block lasers and tasers plus No Drop should hopefully make it so the crew actually runs from a chainsaw now while keeping it in line with its niche as a crowd control melee weapon.
  5. I dont really like that idea. I like the idea of person without adviser. Would be more fun for me at least. I don't think the PI should have the ability to deal with antags or you end up with supercop detectives we sometimes get.
  6. Svejs idea of having it as an Alternate IAA title would probably be the best idea at this point.
  7. Private Investigator: Support Role- Starts in their own office with a Service Headset, Universal Recorder, Detectives Camera, Photo Album, Hand Labeller, folders, pens, duct tape, Trenchcoat, Brown hat and flashlight. Recommended to have an understanding of space law. Does NOT have the authority to make arrests or searches. They are treated as a crew member in accordance with space law. Futher emphasized by their lack of weaponry, flashes and use of a service headset as opposed to security. May help assist security by doing basic evidence gathering through the use of camera, recordings and documentation. May also take cases from crew members when security seems less willing, such as tailing crew members who they believe are acting suspicious, tracking down missing items or other roleplay reasons. Noting and documenting all investigative work is encouraged. Criticism and suggestions HIGHLY ENCOURAGED.

  9. Well I wasn't really going for game changing abilities. Just an interesting race idea that could provide some interesting lore or interactions.
  10. I'll get back to you on that tomorrow. It's 1am at the moment and I still have some half baked ideas in mind.
  11. I understand that and this isn't something to be expected in a few weeks time. I just think having a discussion about new races and having a good consensus on what we're looking for would be a good start. For instance you dislike the slow speed idea of basically being a cripple diona. What would you recommend in your opinion to make it seem a more viable choice? This is something thought up in 15 minutes and there is definitely room for improvement.
  12. Is missing lower torsos replaced by a anti-gravity device not a different enough idea? A true fusion of flesh and technology pushing the boundaries of species throughout the universe. Or something.
  13. Centaur had crossed my mind but I thought four legs was silly. However another random idea was having a race that could regrow lost appengies outside of decapitation. Might include willing shedding injured limbs in an emergency to regrow at a later time.
  14. The echolocation isn't a bad idea actually. My main concern was avoiding yet another humanoid race and try to go for something truly alien.
  15. I wouldn't say no to it being posted here but it having its own thread may be beneficial.
  16. You could name many different alien races. It's not exactly an uncommon trope. The prophets from the Halo series also come to mind but I think they were still able to use there legs but preferred their nifty hover throne things.
  17. Reading the thread on the vulpakin complaining about how the races are just seeming to be humanoid reskins I've spent about 15 minutes brewing up some ideas for a new race addition. Best idea I think I had in my mini brainstorming session is a race that has their lower body replaced by a device that allow them to float and as a result ignore gravity changes and be treated as having magboots enabled at all times. Trade offs might include having a reduced movement speed due to stabilisation devices, toxins being more effective due to lack of a functioning liver and emps outright cutting them in twain. Early days but i thought might as well put my ideas here before going to sleep.

  20. Blob was just given as an example. You could have "Spiders have been breeding in atmospherics." As an example to to have crew move toward engineering. Alternatively you could sound off a meteors event as you detonate C4 charges across the station. I think there's a lot f potential for it. The idea wasn't to use it during preplanning I would imagine nukeops would already be on the station z-level when using it for maximum effect.
  21. Appears as a station bounced radio. One use. Allows the user to select a CentComm announcement for the station from all potential events. Nuke Ops could use it to divert attention from areas they are breaching or even to throw the station into panic causing the crew to prepare for something that isn't even happening such as blob or spiders. It could also be used for fake Ion anomaly reports to throw suspicion on the AI. This would only create an announcement for the station. It wouldn't spawn any events or cause AI laws to change ect. I figure it could be useful for many sort of ops teams.

  23. Hi I'm Wisp, WispX on BYOND. I've been playing for about three months now and I don't really do introductions.
  24. Today was the second time in surgery where I have been accidentally killed via amputating body parts. I was thinking that during amputations the word should be highlighted in red to help make sure that whoever is performing the surgery is aware of what is about to happen. It should help cut down on accidental malpractice with the surgery update.
