Absolutely true that it's infinite, but at the result of oversight. The contents of the machine is counted at machine-level, not inside the clothes box whatever modules you put in the machine during construction

Nothing drives me from the server faster than a xeno round, lmao. Fun screenshots though, I'm sure.

Reference TGstation Lizmen, their markings, etc + facial details are on point. Easy sprite rip.

I would absolutely love to see this implemented. RP and quality of rounds have booth been skyrocketing and I feel that this would be a good next step to keep the train rolling. Gives people something to work for, as silly as that sounds sometimes.

Lmao, your new avatar is great. Got me grinning. You've been getting much better! I'd love to see how you'll be drawing organic nonhumans a year or so from now.

I was one of them :^). I really do think this would be a welcome change.

The short of this suggestion is that 'vocal chords' should sustain brute damage if you scream excessively (read as: too frequently), so if you scream repeatedly before a certain time passes, you take some brute damage. In excessively HOT ATMOSPHERE, your vocal chords should sustain burn damage as you breathe. For burn damage, the message would be 'you feel your throat searing from the heat!' For brute, 'Screaming begins to make your voice raw and throat sore!' Severe damage, Burn > 'Your throat feels insanely dry, and you find yourself unable to speak!' > Triggers mute. Brute > 'You feel your throat swell and make a strange squeaking noise, unable to form words!' > Triggers mute. Both repairable by throat surgery and trauma kit.

All for the sake of a good story, haha. If anything, hella convenient!

Excellent work, absolute pleasure to read your stories. You really can knock these out of the park. Real writing prowess, I look forward to reading others from you! Your talent is greatly appreciated.

That's why I explicitly mentioned that the 100kp tag would severely limit the number of players gaining access to the species so, if it were to be implemented without much more thought into balancing, it wouldn't be too much of a job to squash those abusing it because there just wouldn't be that many of them. Price for the sake of limiting the number of problem cases, not balancing argument, although rarity does have an effect Also why I went on about various additional balancing factors and a lore reference that already has a bunch more quirks that could be used to potentially cripple the species if desired Jeez this threat got buried hardcore. A real shame.

There's a real wealth of information on this species outside of Bay (thankfully) if anything needs expanding on or if there needs to be another balancing factor. Trawling through the whole Avali wiki was pretty interesting.

100kp race. Enough said. I think gimping it with a 100kp price tag will be more than enough to keep abuse managable. I would much prefer this implemented as an additional species. It'd be EASY mode since resizing is a thing, and it comes with a boatload of sprites. As for another debuff.. Since Resomi are so damn small, how about dwarfism outright killing them? "Your bones crunch and shatter as your body shrinks too far beyond even unnatural capacity!" Or if I'm misunderstanding, and these guys would spawn in with the halfling trait already-- if they were to grow, maybe it would be such that... "Your bones creak and splinter under the strain of sudden unnatural growth!" ..Or you could just resize them to be bigger and ditch that idea. Can dwarfs currently walk through flaps? Low HP, super low unarmed damage gimps these guys pretty hard. I figure higher susceptibility to bone fractures would be a good idea. But reading through this thread, I found a pretty golden post If that were coded in copypasta from thermal vision with different sprites (the grey outline that overlays OVER darkness and such), with things like 'examining' (looking at IDs and clothing and such) gutted or disabled to represent advanced hearing, and have a trait that makes it operate based on a variable or something for TILE DISTANCE so it could be managed on a per-species basis via a flag called 'HEARING_DIST or something. That'd make it so this feature could (possibly) be implemented in other races with heightened sense of hearing. Maybe even humans, although the distance would be very small. It would definitely have to have a check to see if the person you're 'hearing' is obscured by something or not, or if you're blind or not. If blind, it should show the grey outlines all over. An interim solution for the grey outline could be just greyscaling the 'heat' outline from the heat resistance genetic power. Or just a muted soft blurry blob-shape, but that'd take all of 1 minute to sprite anyway. Other than that I feel it's managable as a high-$$$ KP race. I'd be more than willing to foot the bill. Also, as a sidenote, I'm pretty sure anything on the Avali Wiki is up for use since this species is pretty much a slightly modified version of that. From the wiki; "However, because Avali lack a true iris, they often cannot see at all in bright daylight since their eyes cannot adjust much if at all to increased or decreased light levels." If you really really want to nerf these guys, you don't have to look past your nose for ideas. A blindness overlay system reactive to light-level could work quite well-- where in BRIGHT light they get a blind or blurry+welding overlay, in dim light they get welding or blurry (or welding+blurry if blind overlay is used for the brightest stage) overlay, and in darkness they get blurry overlay and that's it. But this would go in conjunction with the whole 'grey outline' business to simulate hearing I'm quite ecstatic that this species was brought up on this forum. I can only dream of getting the chance to help develop/eventually use it.

Or they can just get a GPS from science, as it's one of the lowest-level bluespace items. Many miners forego the GPS, I've found, anyway-- and I've never heard a complaint about there being not enough GPSs to go around

Personally, I support the opinion that the codebase could use yet MORE memes.

TG drunkspeak's hilarious. A pretty great example-- but without the wierd text formatting

What's it rate? At the VERY MOST I get 3MB/s down and I forget what my upload is Bell Sympatico is absolute garbageeeeeee

I figure you'd be able to make a garotte EASILY out of a wire coil. That wire's industrial strength bro, wrap it around either hand and that's some damn lethal $#!%. I figure constructing it, to be fair, would entail 'braiding two cable coils together' and 'tying them off at the ends'. Progression: Wire coil + wire coil = braided wire coil > tying off the ends via right-click > braided wire garotte I figure equipping them for use'd trigger a message saying ' wraps the braided wire garotte around their hands!', which would then occupy them both (much like using a spear). Attacking from any direction but behind' trigger a message saying ' struggles to get the braided wire garotte around !', doing whatever is balanced afterward. Attacking with the garotte in only one hand (not prepared) and attacking'd trigger a message like ' whips with the braided wire garotte!' If you successfully choke someone, depending on whether they resist or not, it'd cause them to either stammer, be mute, or 'make a loud noise' when speaking much like a mute person screaming would do in the current iteration of the code. However, even if it's braided industrial-strength wire, there should still be a chance to break it by resisting. Breaking'd split it back into 2 separate wire coils. But otherwise, I fear this'd be incredibly OP either way.

That beats the living hell out of the Renault sprite we have right now. I'm more than game for a swap

Lmfao, that round with the clown statue I tried to take out one of them as a shadowperson but despite looking directly at it the statue went HAM and ashed me. Science made a corgimachine and at the end of the round some guy ran up to me and exploded, taking off all but my left thigh and robotic right leg. I feel like an idiot for forgetting their name but the IPC infront of me saved my ass and made sure I got a seat on the shuttle <3. Thanks, mysterious hero! I wish I had a picture of this scene, too, but that same day (a couple shifts later) I ended up getting ambushed by a xeno queen in arrivals maint. She spamtackled and stripped me bare, devouring me alive-- (also as paramedic) though apparently you can still live AND TALK inside a xenoqueen. So I screamed like a maniac-- the only thing I could do, really. She puked me up and put me in a nest thing while she grew a facehugger egg a single square away when just moments later Luigi Belducci, saviour that he is, walked up in his DURAND and beat the alium to death. I died as he dragged me to med but was revived and was able to escape in perfect health thanks to him . gr8 m8.

The steampunk series looks absolutely excellent. The miner and doctor are wicked, I LOVE the design. However, I propose a challenge. I'd love to see your take on the Vox Always great seeing your stuff, pleasant surprise to see SO MUCH MORE STUFF on this thread after only like, what, a week? 10/10

Lmfao, what happens in genetics.. Can't even count the number of times I've been accidentally gibbed. Always fun

Woah, looks pretty wicked! C'est bon! Definitely looking forward to seeing more. Awesome stuff.
