The Second Community Meeting! [Concluded]
Psyentific replied to FreeStylaLT's topic in Announcements
To heads of staff: What are your plans for the next month, three months, and year? With regards to Paradise, what do you want to accomplish by the end of the year, and what do you want to do next year? To senior staff members: If you could change one thing about Paradise, what would it be? What do you like the most, and what do you dislike the most? -
:1 We must secure the existence of our species and a future for Human children. :1 We must pursue a final solution to the Vulpkanin problem. :1 The victor will never be asked if he told the truth. It is not truth that matters, but victory. :1 In order to find out who rules this server, you must first find out who you are not allowed to argue with. :1 When Vulpkania sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not artists, doctors, engineers and lawyers. They are, in many cases, ERPers, furries, and autists. :1 We must dismiss this notion that Vulpkanin are our equals. This latest species is nothing more than a sham to hide their degenerate fetishes, dressed up in cringy German and the barest trace of effort. They contribute nothing to our space station that we did not already have. :1 We must never forget Sol Common, our noble tongue. This is our heritage as the master race, as Humanity.

basically this i can say with total confidence that i can do any job outside of surgeon, chemist and science. but really, sometimes i just want to muck about in space and do w/e without having to drop my pet project to fix some snipped wires or something trivial like that. that's basically what assistant is for. sometimes i just want to be a shit disturber. a miscreant. rip up floor tiles, spread blood, get arrested, do it all over again. that, too, is nice every once in a while.
-
so basically it's vigilante assistant but you can brig people for <5m
-
this tbh

"Welcome to Paradise station, where the rules are made up and the griff doesn't matter"
-
man, sometimes i just want to fuck around

Hazard vest is more of an Assistant/Cargo thing tbh. More often than not Engineers are better off wearing the hardsuits unless you want ~style~. I'd like to see an Engineering Tool Vest though, that'd be really good.

'Concubine' as alternate title for Assistant

But muh intellectual lusts No really, imagine actual geishas playing the lute and serving tea in pure and perfect chastity without any innuendo whatsoever. Good clean family friendly fun, pls code. captain sitting with a harem on the bridge lol. combat harem with full access and guns. Why we need blueshield then? blueshield is Head of Harem -
i feel bad for the admins who have to take your bad thread seriously
-
Bring it back. This is one of those bugs that was secretly a feature.
-
this is a bad thread and you should feel bad for making it

Which means that on a Nanotrasen station you will be fired (out of a mass driver) if you even think the U-word. Central Command had quite enough of that nonsense in the Cargonian revolts thank you very much > Basically though, this gives people an avenue to be shit disturbers without actually, y'know, griefing and breaking and fighting. And that's good, I want more ways to be a professional shit disturber.

That's the idea, yes. And pro-union posters in contraband crate. Quartemaster should have a hidden stash behind his office wall(smuggler satchel would be OP) containing some posters and trade union leader outfit. And IAAs would have more job which is good. Its sad that they are de facto limited to security only. A closet with: Cargonian Kingpin uniform (for QM), Cargonian Goon uniform (x3 for cargo techs), a contraband poster called 'Cargonian Declaration of Independence' (already an atmosian one in code), and four foam-force shotguns. Heck, just use the hidden room in cargo maint, the one with the glove balloons and the ian shirt. That already doubles as an emitter room sometimes, so.
-
Just to see how many people take 'Concubine' as a job title. E: 'Consort' works just as well
-
Wal-Mart has closed stores because of union rumors before. Nanotrasen is more evil than Wal-Mart, right? So...
-
For fun. Spacelaw is sorely lacking in flavour.
-
I'll say the same thing I said in Discord >People fighting over air tanks >Cargo, Atmos and Toxins lording over the breathless plebes >Voxy not seeings the problems yaya Fund it

Add "Attempting to form a labour union" as a capital crime and "Being a member of a labour union" as a major crime. In addition, mentioning the 'U-word' is a minor crime. So-called 'Nations' such as Cargonia, Atmosia, Engistan, Janitopia, and Securistan also count as labour unions for purposes of space law. A labour union is defined as an organization of workers who have come together to achieve common goals such as protecting the integrity of their jobs, improving safety standards, achieving higher pay and benefits such as health care and retirement, and better working conditions. Remember - Nanotrasen works towards galactic prosperity for all species. Do not oppose this wonderful goal.

making Ablative Armor Vest more Useful
Psyentific replied to Lokirofrorikstead's topic in Suggestions
It's still *really* good for fighting Sec. Functionally, it reduce's Sec's options to flashbang or baton charge. Don't think of it as a coinflip to get tased, think of it as a coinflip to *not* get tased. It's in about the same state as the ballistic vest - I agree that it could use more coverage (at least groin), and it'd be nice to have a matching helmet, but as-is it fills its niche quite nicely. -
making Ablative Armor Vest more Useful
Psyentific replied to Lokirofrorikstead's topic in Suggestions
Unless they changed the ablative, it has a high chance to reflect energy shots. Tasers, disablers, lasers, basically security's main weapons are hard-countered by ablative. -
remodel bantasia on the top is what bantasia is, on the bottom is what i was expecting it to be

Aw man, I'm not in the screenshot. Actually, I think you took this just after I got pulled out. That's the multitool I was using to check the power output. The grid started around the 600kW mark from the engine SMES alone. After I wired the collectors right into the grid, we wound up sitting around the 1.05MW mark. I know for a fact that Baycode supermatters usually start destabilizing around 16-20 emitter blasts and they only need about ten to pump out main engine juice, but that supermatter shard never actually went hot. We wound up just leaving the emitter on, all the way to the end, and the waste gas still never went above the -80C mark.
