Additional storage slots. Greetings Sherlock Holmes. What brings you here?

Yes please. Implement this.

The fact that fumbling through a utility belt and your pockets take just as long to click and to equip to your hand, take just as long as it does when you click on your backpack to get out the item you want, it makes me wonder, what's the point of these pockets and utility belts if they're not a faster alternative of equipping items than fumbling through a container or backpack? What I'm saying is, I want a quick item slot mechanic where whenever you assign the item that's in one of your pockets or a belt that can hold items in, you quickly equip that item into your selected hand. For example, if I wanted to get out my stun baton real quick from my utility belt, I assign the baton to a key like "1". Then I press the 1 key to quickly equip my baton or put my baton back into my belt. The same for the two pocket slots on the HUD. Assign the item in the pocket to a key, then press that key to quickly equip that item or put the item back in the pocket. Some people would call this a "quick draw" mechanic. Since if you're able to store a gun or a weapon in your belt, suit inventory or pockets, then you can quickly draw out your weapon from either one with a simple key press. However this will not work with backpacks and containers. Since just like in real life, you can't just quickly pull something out from a container or your backpack and then be ready to use that item immediately. Because that's not how it works. You're going through the backpack or container first to find the item you want, then you pick out the item you want. However for the suit inventory slot, utility belts or pockets, you don't need to fumble around to find the item you want because, the item you need is in plain view and is within an arm's reach to equip or put back. Please implement this as it will help out a lot for security officers. Since I don't like having to click over and over for a few precious seconds just to put away or equip my stun baton. Not to mention this can be very annoying if you're trying to arrest someone since you don't have a quicker way of equipping the right items immediately when you spot a suspect.

Oh I'll bet.

I think OoT's version of the shop theme would fit in a bit nicer, personally. Also, I might mention, Byond is completely random and sometimes requires you to redownload resources. This could happen at any time. So, for example, in the middle of a game, you crash. You attempt to log back in, and Byond flips you the double bird and requires you to redownload the resources. The more you have to download, the more a player is going to be pissed off in these situations. Well you got a solid point. But this only happens once in a while. It's not like we have to redownload "every single time" we start up BYOND. Also yeah, I think OoT's version would fit a little bit more. But the Twilight Princess version can work too in case everyone doesn't want to hear the same song over and over.

I'm not really sure what you mean. Can you explain that a bit more? So imagine that every new music that is to be included is around the same size as another already in-game (let's say the largest one just for tests sake). Copy/paste renamed versions of those files and associate them with the areas you want to have new music for. You'll have to download multiple files then because they are all separate different named. It's a thought and I can't see why it wouldn't work for a test Well that's true. But the only songs that I'd think would fit for different situations are just songs I hear from video games. Since that's pretty much the only kind of music I listen to. Other than 70s and 80s rock music from bands such as Ozzy, KISS or Queen. Few songs come to mind in certain situations. Walking around: Horror and/or Suspense: Sitting and drinking or eating at the bar:

Well I still fail to see the point how extra download time and size would matter whether a player would join or not. Again, I don't have a problem with downloading things. I do it all the time in multiplayer games when I join servers with custom content. So why should BYOND and Paradise Station be any different?
-
Well that's their problem if they choose not to follow the "patience" virtue. Not the server's problem.
-
Well I'm okay with that because, I'm patient enough to download said resources.

I was wondering if we could actually have music coded and playing that play out according to what the player is doing. Examples like when you're drinking at a bar, you hear music that would play in cantinas or bars. Say like the cantina song in Star Wars When you're in the hallways, you hear average but, slightly soothing music as you walk around the station. Like the UNATCO HQ theme from Deus Ex. When you're in darkness or places that will or can cause fear and suspense into the character, you hear suspenseful and horrific music. Kind of like the Resident Evil 1 Basement theme. When you're in a dire situation that could result in losing your life (examples like escaping a station that's about to explode or you're fighting someone), you hear suspenseful music again as you try to live and not die. When you're doing your job or doing something that requires a lot of work, you hear music that would encourage you more to continue working. Like some of the building songs in the Bob the Builder shows. Sorry for that poor example. Don't know what other example to say. I hope I'm not sounding too dumb with this, but I just want some more music in Paradise Station instead of the piano playing in the bar and it's more fun to listen to music that play according to what your character is doing since it's more fun that way in my opinion. Ambient noises around the station can only make me play the game for only a little bit.

I wouldn't really say it's hard to deal with since it only works if you eat or drink enough. You can pretty much walk around without worrying about it until you see that burger icon and to be honest, there's really not a thirst system. Yet people drink anyway for RP reasons.
-
Sigh. . .okay fine. I get it that a lot of people get very annoyed of poop jokes but me on the other hand, I just completely ignore it.
-
Well that's cool and all. But those are not "primary" functions of a bathroom and that's only helpful if you're an antag. A bathroom is for people that need to do their business of emptying the food and drink they have digested in privacy. I know the bathroom can be useful of hiding stuff like bodies and such, but that's only for antags and you obviously can't go around committing crimes like that at will since it's against server rules to do so. Unless it's supposed to be like that in "RP" matters or again, if you're an antag.
-
I know this may seem rather pointless to implement to most. But do you want to know what's also pointless? The bathrooms. I mean yeah, I get it that you can go to the bathroom and role play yourself peeing in the urinal or pooping in the toilet. But that's just laziness to me and I still don't see the point of going to the bathrooms. So I really want a bladder mechanic that fills up the more you eat food and the more drink liquids that's not displayed in the HUD. Instead, you get a warning in text stating the following: For a peeing warning it says "You start squeezing your legs together and grit your teeth as you try to hold the need to go. . .like you know. . .go." For a pooping warning it says "You start farting uncontrollably. You really need to go. . .like go you know?" If anyone doesn't want to implement the bladder system, then at least remove the bathrooms. I just don't see much point in leaving the rooms there in Paradise Station, other than washing your hands and your clothes on the sink.

Crawling while having no legs/on the ground.
GuardianStriker replied to kylejen's topic in Suggestions
Well now this makes me want to be able to fit into the vents and crawl in them. Like some sort of secret agent infiltrating a building through the vents. -
Yeah and when you get yelled at when someone yells "OBJECTION", "HOLD IT", or "TAKE THAT", you take fatigue damage. When you take enough, you faint into unconsciousness. Which simulates the person having a breakdown. Similar to the Ace Attorney games. It's an okay and funny idea, but I doubt it will get implemented.

I don't really see the point in removing it. Why would you want to remove it just because it's a legit beginner's "aimbot?" Whenever you say "skill", I can't help but think that you think Space Station 13 has some sort of "shooting" game elements in it. Which it doesn't. It has guns sure but, the guns and the "target mechanic" are put in the game in an "RP" kind of way and not in a "shooter" kind of way. Targeted mode like a few people say, is supposed to give someone the idea that "you mean business" and that they should "cooperate" unless they want a bullet or a stun shock in them. It's not a cheap aimbot because Space Station 13 is not supposed to be treated like it's some sort of "shooter." It's supposed to be treated as a game to role play on a station in space. Hence the title and the goal and purpose of the game. If you want to tweak and fix it a little to where you have slightly more chances of missing, that's fine. But removing it seems a little dumb in my opinion.

Good point. I once heard a character say that Nanotransen supports free trade with employees on the station. Which means stuff like drinks from the bartender or food from the chef are always free to people who work in the station. Civilians though I think have to pay. Anyway, I edited the post a bit where I say that a PSI implant is needed to cast such abilities. Kind of like the PSI implant from System Shock 2. Everyone is either given one by R&D or Genetics at the start of a round or are given the choice to receive one from either science, R&D and/or Genetics. It's my way of bringing some balance on the PSI abilities if they ever get implemented since you also run the risk of getting your implant taken away or disarmed from you. Which means you can't cast any PSI abilities without it.

I was thinking what if we all had the ability to cast psychic powers with an implant that you hold in your hand that would either aid or harm people and/or objects. Kind of like in Bioshock, System Shock and Mass Effect. Example being a botanist being able to speed up the growth speed or being able to make wheat grow again after harvest. A security officer being able to put criminals in a temporary stasis with their mind to stun them in order to bring them into custody. If they can prevent the criminal from getting away with his own PSI abilities too. It may seem like a big and pointless thing to some of you but, I'm really anxious to know how it would effect the gameplay of Paradise Station. Players are also given the choice to get more PSI abilities from genetics. However, be prepared to pay top dollar as they would cost a lot of credits to purchase a single PSI power. Though of course when using PSI too much, you end up getting terrible headaches since you're literally using the psychic fuel of your brain. Using PSI then will literally damage your head and may cause your head to explode by abusing your PSI abilities too much if your not careful. Too much of a good thing can be bad for you of course. What do you guys think about it?
