Name: Tauka Usanake Age: 23 Gender: Male Race: Human Blood Type: -O General Occupational Role(s): Roboticist, Xenobiologist, Botanical Researcher, Captain (Condom) Biography: At a young age Tauka was fascinated by technology. Robotics was amazing and he put it to himself to one day make a living out of it. Until he realized there was more to his desires. He didn't just want to make machinery and set it off to work. He wanted to bend things to his will. Make whatever he has work in his favor. Science just seems like that kind of area that gets work done. Robotics was his major growing up but he also went into biology and plant life studies. Upon completing his degree Tauka applied for a job at Nanotrasen and was stationed at the NSS Cyberiad. Qualifications: Robotics and bio-genetics in plant life. Employment Records: He is best stationed in scientific roles, mainly in Robotics and Xenobiology. In robotics he is almost at home. I mean almost because he knows everything there is to know about mech construction and cyborgs. However, his studies back in college did not go over IPCs. As of such he knows almost nothing of them and has had repeated trouble maintaining them. [spoiler2]So please go to someone else who knows how to reattach your head[/spoiler2] When he is place in the Science department Tauka can be seen hard at work tending to the slimes and fighting monkeys to submit to their slow and painful death. He feels this job a little less in the research area and finds a type of kinship with the slimes. More than likely they're not out to murder him, at least not after feeding them. He doesn't really enjoy killing the slimes but knows that it's a task that must be done or they will overpopulate. Plus they have the special slime cores which brings him back to his desire to make the world work his way. If things go well then he will rarely leave the isolated Xenobiology chamber, more than happy with the company of his slime friends. He has been known to be sent in as Hydroponics sometimes when Botanists are in low supply. He doesn't tend to farm much for the chef as much as he does wish to study and mutate plants. He will readily send new species to Cargo to forward to CentCom as soon as he can, granted he doesn't have to hand deliver it all the way from Hydroponics. He hates Chemistry. Don't ever ask him to work in that department. He does however have a simple understanding of most chemicals due to his plant life studies. He'll be more than happy to send reagents to Medical, for a generous exchange of advance mutagen or course. Due to some sick nature of the universe, either CentCom was desperate/wanting a laugh or the Great Honkmother pulling a prank, Tauka has been sent to the NSS Cyberiad ranked as Captain. He has no idea why nor was given an explanation. Just handed the gear and the ID stuck to his shirt and thrown on to the arrivals shuttle. Normally upon arrival the station is halfway to hell and more than likely he'll end up dying to some manner of disappointment. He doesn't COMPLETELY MIND however. It's a great honor to be selected as captain but he knows he is not qualified enough for it. Tauka tries to take it easy until shit gets eaten by the singularity and the shuttle has to be called. [spoiler2]By then though he's probably dead so no worries![/spoiler2] Security Records: None Medical Records: None Personnel Photo (Appearance text): Commendations [only to be added by admin]: Reprimands [only to be added by admin]: Other Notes: None yet

I guess it technically means more snowflaked races, yeah. At least it would be things already stuck into the code though. Other than the plant people most hybrid races would just be appearance. Otherwise it would basically give a more fleshy weak diona human. Again mainly for character sake. In fact the plant people could be a special spawn from just replicant pods as they were before. Hmmm. To make them a little more nicer I'd make it so that they can't be cloned, but rather on death they shrivel up and leave behind a seed packet that when planted lets them respawn. That would make them a little more viable to use. They would have a long regrow time. Like diona basically.

This is going to get a lot of hate. And I mean A LOT. Please don't hurt me. So this is something from way back. Before dionas. Dionaea? Meh. Anyways before when you could actually potato clone people. There was a chance that they would sometimes come out not fully human but as a "potato person". So they were part plant and I kind of liked it. You could have a few extra bonuses to being not completely human and if not then you at least looked different. Special even. Seeing that there is already the OP diona tank I would propose a kind of mix to the diona and human powers for lack of a better word. Like instead of being the tanky walking tree you'd still be as weak as a human, maybe more even as you'd be more plant-like. Like a delicate flower. Otherwise you get healed in light and die without it like a normal diona. You're not space or radiation proof and will feel pain. Basically a human with some benefits from diona but not all of them. Now here's the hate part... It would be nice to see just plant people be a thing, but I'd want to see it applied to other races too. See that the only other races are the *cough* furry kind, I would not be surprised to see this idea be nuked from a bluespace cannon strike. Spammed even. Such destruction would be devastating, but justly so. I don't understand the code enough to make this a thing myself. If I did then I'd be doing it without mention or bluespace strikes. I do however think it wouldn't be a bad thing if put behind a mildly expensive karma price. And I wouldn't use ERP possibilities as an excuse to not at least consider this. Or members of the furry community and their common actions. I'd just like to see people being able to play as what they want without having to sacrifice headgear for a pair of cat ears. Besides, the banhammer exists for most reasons if they did abuse being such a person. I see no problem in enforcing the rules that way. After warnings at least. [spoiler2]hides inside the nuke proof lockers around the station[/spoiler2]

Two minor edits lately. Added the Water reaction to the gray slime core in http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Gui ... y#Formulas as it was in the game code.[spoiler2]You can tell where I've been spending my time lately...[/spoiler2] Changed the Service headset key/letter to the correct used letter. It was listed as 'v' when in practice it is 'z'. Am I doing good?

Garoon gets a point from me, and I don't even like Mass Effect
-
Awww, it's cute. ^.^ EVERYTHING ELSE!
-
I am quite curious. Link plz? So everyone can see it too! :3

GREATNESS
-
First thing to my mind and the the page after it
-
^ This. All of this

STOP FLIRTING THAT'S ERP
-
Funny, but I still think most simple mobs should be rideable. It would be a nice addition
-
I was just thinking recently, but imagined it would be hilarious if they poured fertilizer on themselves, like the ones you use in Hydro, to replenish them or something. Else just give them a message. They are basically plants after all
-
Not only does the station's lights burn them but so does the light of their own body flames
-
I think I like the aesthetic effect, but gibbing is fun. That mess, the body parts everywhere. What if we have both? Like some minor gibs fly but with the body hole too? That's my vote

I can't imagine how a diona could give birth to a xeno. They don't have any fleshy bits to grant DNA from. Unless you count all the blood they swiped from everyone on the station. I guess that can be made the argument but they're also not a natural growing ground for xenos I would imagine. I would also think the could heal up (after a LONG TIME) from getting chest bursted. Either that or walking around with a large hole in their chest and talking about that's how their baby was made. ... Why do I want this as a feature now?
-
Yes, I didn't know what geneticists were like before joining this station. The bastard children of Science and Medical
-
I always thought a competent Geneticist would have everyone go in for DNA backups and then keep said backups someplace safe. I've never seen that as the case
-
I like it because I can imagine how the person is actually sounding when they speak. How would /tg/ be any less annoying than that? The bigger font sizes make me want to turn away and the bold/italics just don't add anything to it
-
The second one is even better bcs lamp. Can we get an icon for that lamp?
-
Please no. That hurts to look at. Can't we just keep what we have? It makes me feel like the person is actually high
-
A lone operative sounds like fun, but I can't help but to want it to have more benefits as being the only one. More access to traitor gear, maybe more telecrystals. At least the means to make more interesting traitoring that a bunch of organized members can do. Sure it also depends on their ability (toxins anyone?) but being alone might give some feelings of uselessness. Eh. I think I'm still wanting a "murderbone everyone on the station" objective for a traitor. Maybe a lone murderer psychopath might be fun
-
Might be a little OP, even as a karma race maybe. Depends how it gets implemented but might be something interesting to look into

Reduce the number of memes in the codebase.
Tauka Usanake replied to Mrs Dobbins's topic in Suggestions
I don't think there is anything wrong with the memes we have currently. Besides, he's a fox. You're practically handing out that one. I think the server has a healthy amount of memes in it currently. Not so little that they aren't interesting but not a lot that you want to set everything in a plasma fire -
No idea what that is but it looks nice. Also feminine so not something my characters would wear
