  1. I agree with everything else you said, but this isn't true in my experience. By the time you have night vision, it's really cheap and easy to make. Additionally, few people actually come and ask for it. Finally, I play exclusively science and I have never once seen a scientist in R&D deny anyone of anything except guns and sometimes bluespace bags of holding (back when they were easier to create a singulo with).
  2. I've tried to upgrade every machine I've seen, and as far as I remember, the gibber doesn't have parts and can't be upgraded. The monkey recycler can, but not the kitchen gibber.
  3. What even are they? Amphibians, fungal, reptilian? Something else entirely? That would help with lore and sounds (neither of which I know how to do but I'm just curious).
  4. I don't think it's big enough for this, but it would be neat as hell to make it a holodeck room. My school has this giant outdoor chess set where the pieces are about a meter tall - I've never played it, but it looks like fun. You have to move pieces with two hands and walk across the board. Then, when you capture someone's piece, you can kick or punch it down or something cool like that.
  5. Yeah and many of them are human reskins with one or two stats changed. If we have too many races, I think this should replace Skrell. All they have is a language, the ability to breath underwater (perfect for fighting off aquatic foes IN SPACE), and the inability to wear some headgear.
  6. inb4 this cult comprises only of IPCs. No toxin damage is the best toxin damage.
  7. The Eternal Flame you say...
  8. Or, could the small grenade casings made of metal be made to be unable to contain a large beaker? The large casings from the protolathe, I'm not too sure about, because allowing only them to have large beakers would give science traitors more of an edge. What is even the difference between the two casings if they both can contain the same stuff?
  9. While this should be a thing, can't you just use a Handheld Labeler?
  10. I don't have much of an opinion on the other points, because I play SciChem instead of MedChem (where you're not in a rush at all), but this is so perfect. 120 is divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 (as well as some other numbers that matter less), making it able to use essentially any ratio of reagents.
  11. Nanopaste? I don't know exactly how it works, but isn't this basically most of nanopaste? And what Toroic said. I say nay.
  12. I'm not sure about the implications or fun of having the antags fight each other, but - as far as wiz/malf/blob goes - shouldn't it be possible to make it so that once all of them die, the round ends? Instead of having the game check the death of one antag, it would just check all three. Or maybe it doesn't work how I expect.
  13. I said I was willing to make this happen in my drone PR, so I'll try it out. Shouldn't be too hard - it's probably some copying and pasting from other deconstructable objects, and maybe a little changing of values. EDIT: For anyone wondering. https://github.com/ParadiseSS13/Paradise/pull/4037
  14. Why did you put it like "(de)constructable?" Operating tables can be made out of plasteel. Unless you're talking about something else.
  15. It'd be interesting if we could port a few maps over and cycle them on a weekly basis. I feel like it could be automatic, but it could be manual too. Maybe every two or three weeks if it's manual.
  16. WE WANT ME-TA WE WANT ME-TA I want metastation again almost as much as I want 510.
  17. I'm reviving this because it still hasn't happened and I've encountered situations where this is necessary. It's unnecessarily hard to fix a breach because of the lack of magboots. I also made a small addition to the original post. EDIT: Wow I didn't realize I only posted this a couple weeks ago. Still. It probably would take 10 minutes to code by someone who knows how.
  18. Nobody thought you were implying that, but it's what will happen.
  19. Merging or not merging makes little difference. R&D will always print a mech component when robotics asks for it, so robotics already almost has access to those. Robotics can easily make a protolathe using the circuit board in tech storage and the parts in R&D that are sitting on the desk, allowing them to make mech parts. R&D can't produce uber powerful stuff by itself - anything actually dangerous is in a lockbox. Implants are the only freely powerful object R&D can make, and they should not be in the protolathe (but they should be in the exosuit fabricator). Robotics can make powerful mechs, yes, but they do not go around shooting the shit out of everyone because they don't want to be banned. Additionally, mechs are easily defeated by an ion rifle and can be locked by the Research Director from his office (and maybe the AI? Not sure on this). It always irks me when people talk about "the power of science" because this power only comes into play if you're an antagonist. No normal player is going to abuse the power of science because they don't want to be banned. If somebody does decide to self-antag enough to disrupt the round, they get banned and only one round was slightly less fun than the coming rounds without that player.
  20. According to Fox in this suggestion, implants are not part of the domain of Medical. :^)
  21. Does "shock resistant" mean less damage from shock, or are they walking insulated gloves? I assume less damage. Those sprites look incredibly bizarre from the side. Their legs are bent backwards, but their bodies are as stiff as a board. Maybe give them a bit of a hunch and a thinner belly/chest.
  22. Here's a petty change. Remove the blood types from IPCs and any other applicable races.
  23. How the heck do people change their HUD color? I keep seeing screenshots of colors other than mine - I didn't even know there was more than one color.
  24. The same thread existed under General Discussions, but this is more fleshed out and an actual suggestion. If you saw the same thing also in Suggestions, then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  25. I love love love this idea, but I forsee it getting some flak. The room should be as wide as Robotics and R&D (or maybe 75% as wide as both rooms combined), and have an enormous window along the north side so people can see in. It should keep the safety shutters though. Additionally, the entrance to science would have to be moved - I propose scrapping that tiny maint room between the mech bay and morgue, then after combining R&D and Robotics, shifting the mega room to fill that space, and finally putting the entrance on the far right. Maybe there could even be a window there as well, or the entrance to the Technology room. Then the north and south sides could be windows for civilians and scientists to view happenings. My favorite aspect, by far, is this
