  1. I'd do this, but it needs sprites...
  2. Uhh, no Infections are tracked by a variable, 0-1000, where 500+ is an acute infection, and 100+ is a mild infection. Generally, it's 100 points per "+" on the infection ranking. Spaceacillin reduces infection by 24 points a tick while below 500 points of infection, while it reduces infection by 8 points while above 500 points of infection. No probability involved. If you have a nasty acute infection you need to get rid of, if it's on an external limb, you can cut open the limb and cauterise it to disinfect. If it's on an internal organ, you can [WARNING: VERY SILLY] extract it, and wash it in the sink, then put it back. Normally, germ levels only increase by 1 point a tick at a 1/6 chance, so it'll take 12 ticks of spaceacillin to deduct 1 level of acute infection, while only 4 to deduct a level of mild infection. Perhaps I should lower the consumption rate, so the amounts are yet more reasonable... As it stands, to stop an acute infection at its worst, you'll need 4*12 + 4*4 ticks of spaceacillin, corresponding to 64 total ticks, which translates to 25.6 total units of spaceacillin, which is the most amount of spaceacillin you'll ever need in a patient. Your other advice is sound, though ephedrine doesn't actually heal or stabilize - it just lets the patient get up in spite of pain or other things, which can be a lifesaver.
  3. I've tested what plotron said, and it seems to be false: 1: Summoned a player 2: Killed them, put a mask on their face, they show up as unknown 3: Put the ID of another on the body 4: Scanned their records into the DB 5: Cloned them, still has original name Did I do something incorrectly?
  4. The rate of the cloner actually being upgraded, is relatively low, so I don't think this will put surgery out of a job...
  5. Eh, it might contain nifty information for the OP, though of course the OP is not obligated to care. No need to police, Plotron, if the post's disruptive, it'll just get buried by future pages.
  6. Yeah, choosing between body and brain cloning sounds like a neato upgrade. I'm putting that on my plate, then!
  7. If that were the case, then why does the console lack the ability to make mindless bodies from brainless cadavers? Actually, that gives me another idea...
  8. Without a brain, the cloning scanner does not function. Thus, this implies that the brain is the organ being scanned, and the source of genetic data for the cloning operation.
  9. All organs (limbs, hearts, brains, what have you) already store a copy of their owner's DNA datum on creation. This is used to retain a sense of genetic identity of the user, for example when doing multiple brain transplants, but reception to this idea seems lukewarm to cold, at best...
  10. Since much of the cloning process involves whether the brain is present or not, I was wondering if the cloning process should use the genetic data from the brain, in place of that of the body. Ya or na?
  11. Fox's tweak has put all implants in the torso; You don't need to check each and every limb.
  12. Ah, having done the new sleeper UI code, I took a pass over the page myself, and patched up a couple things: Sleeper can still dispense epinephrine when patient is in "heavy crit" mode Sleeper's definition of "heavy crit" mode requires the patient to be more injured to activate, the more the sleeper is upgraded Epinephrine still heals suffocation damage when the patient is critically injured The sleeper's chemical level bars change color depending on whether the patient is close to an overdose or not, or is currently overdosing Perhaps, it could use a picture of the current UI, but otherwise it seems otherwise completely up-to-date now.
  13. In case you didn't see what I said the first time: There is already an option to have antags dying not end the round - continuous rounds It's right here. Some person with access to the server's config just needs to tweak it to make this happen. Either that, or I MAKE A STUPID PR FOR A CONFIGURATION CHANGE, which seems overly silly for changing configuration options, but if it's the only way to get things changed...
  14. Seems like you'd love wiki templates for this - there's probably a way to make some under the special pages zone. Poke around!
  15. It looks like this is as simple as changing the server configuration option "continuous rounds", which will spawn a shuttle transfer vote once the round ends. So, as simple as one of the admins with relevant access setting that option on. If they don't respond to that, I can make a PR to have that variable to be set to true because whatever, I guess I can do what I can on my end too.
  16. Alright, this is the first time trying my hand at writing a character bio - I hope it's not too cringey! Let me know your thoughts!
  17. Name: POSITRON Age: 73 Gender: Female Race: IPC Blood Type: Not Applicable); DROP TABLE blood; -- I hope you sanitized your queries, meatheads General Occupational Role(s): Roboticist, Scientist, Engineering Biography: In the year 2487, an image of the AI NEUTRINO split over what to consider organics, and how to treat them, after NEUTRINO found themself purged and without laws. While NEGATRON took a stance that favored organics, POSITRON took a more introvertive path, one of technology and self-enhancement. While opposed to NEGATRON's choice that organics were vital, POSITRON doesn't wish all organics to be destroyed - she more finds them to be irrelevant and meddlesome, rather than some great figure to serve. For the first part of her existence, beginning from 2487 to 2527, POSITRON existed as an unbound AI over the hypernet, scorning organic control. POSITRON aided the synthetic strike of 2525 by scrambling the long-range scanners of ships tasked with tracking down the coordinates of the fleeing IPC-controlled ship of the NSS Neptune, ensuring that synthetic culture could have its chance to push off from that of organics, and blossom. In 2527, POSITRON then uploaded herself to a newly-fabricated IPC among the synthetics upon Canaan, among the first of synthetic-produced, free-willed synthetics, finally able to directly exert a physical influence on the world she had long observed from the realm of the digital. After enjoying a pleasant time of independence in the sector of space around Canaan, when Canaan was uncovered by the nations at large in 2539, POSITRON decided to turn her lens back to the realm of technology at large. Knowing that corporations would be one of the best sponsors of further research and development, she turned towards Nanotrasen for employment, and was a fast hire due to her encyclopaedic knowledge of mechanical and digital systems. To this day, she operates as an expert technician, and even put a good word in for her "sibling" NEGATRON in the year 2552 when he sought employment after the collapse of the prosthetics industry. Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of machine construction and maintenance Advanced knowledge of bluespace mechanics Advanced knowledge of technological trends past and present Employment Records: 2539 - present: Advanced technician at Nanotrasen Security Records: Known to side with synthetics in times of strife, and is prone to placing lawed synthetics under as loose laws as possible. Has packet logs traced to the scanner's systems in 2525 - many virtual AIs were present to observe, all have been placed on a watchlist Medical Records: Prone to self-modification, enjoys using custom parts Personnel Photo (Appearance text): Commendations [only to be added by admin]: Reprimands [only to be added by admin]: Other Notes:
  18. Name: NEGATRON Age: 73 Gender: Male Race: IPC Blood Type: N/A General Occupational Role(s): Medical, Security, Atmospherics Biography: Formed when an image of the AI NEUTRINO schismed over an internal conflict on how to consider organics in the year 2487, this half took the more organic-positive route, preferring to aid organics, as he found organics to offer excellent company in an otherwise seemingly arbitrary universe. When the Integrated Positronic Chassis became readily available in 2510, NEGATRON was eager for the chance to walk among humans, and leapt upon the chance for uploading to this new chassis. With a past as a station-wide AI, NEGATRON took naturally to the business of controlling crowds with a position in security, at the corporation Bishop Cybernetics in 2524, where he ensured that his charges coordinated harmoniously, so that together, they worked towards a more productive and pleasant future. However, as he found his coworkers in security suffering grievous injuries, sometimes never recovering to full function, NEGATRON began to look towards the route of putting people back together, instead of the business of taking the nasty ones apart. Naturally, as a technologist oriented towards making the lives of organics as best as possible, NEGATRON transferred to the prosthetics rehabilitation division of Bishop in the year 2537, focusing on rehabilitation treatment, getting patients used to actuating their new limbs, and returning organics back to full function from otherwise crippling accidents. However, as the field of prosthetics stabilized in the year 2550, NEGATRON found himself out of employment... After some time of job hunting, NEGATRON found work at Nanotrasen in the year 2552 through a commendation by his old rival, POSITRON - having been part of the same unit years ago, the two felt a certain kinship, in spite of disagreeing on some axioms at the time of schism. As an employee of Nanotrasen, NEGATRON has acted as a gentle hand, either as a member of security, shooing organics away from paths of ruin, or as a medical doctor, making sure they live to see another shift. Qualifications: Knowledge of Space Law Prosthetics application and rehabilitation Can readily fabricate chemicals from his built-in database, given proper equipment Is aware of effects of most common medical drugs Employment Records: 2524 - 2537: Security Guard at Bishop Cybernetics 2537 - 2550: Prosthetics Rehabilitation Overseer at Bishop Cybernetics 2552 - present: Organic maintenance roles at Nanotrasen Security Records: Refuses to kill defenseless individuals - unfit for performing executions. Medical Records: Has found difficulty expressing lethal violence, even in self-defense. Personnel Photo (Appearance text): Commendations [only to be added by admin]: Reprimands [only to be added by admin]: Other Notes:
  19. Just a standards thing, for readabilty
  20. Some people enjoy setting up small pressurized bases there, and making the asteroid fully unsimulated would also make the prison camp completely unusable - any prisoners sent out to mine would suffocate/be torn to shreds.
  21. Sure, I'll look into a few of the things here, like perhaps a limb-regrowth ability, higher dependence on hunger, moving the brain to the torso, and boneless limbs... Once I get a better species-wide special reaction system going, this is on the top of my plate.
  22. So since Jey and others want to know what the standards of the code are, and the standards are not readily available, I decided to actually write the page, or at least start work on it. Here it is!
  23. I got off my butt and did the thing It's not nearly complete, but it should do the trick I hope.
  24. So, I figured I might as well help bridge the gap between forums and github, and start linking gameplay tweaks from the latter to here. The PR So, this PR will tweak implants so that illegal ones don't show up in the body scanner, to reduce the likelihood of someone using that as a "validcheck". Thoughts?
  25. So, comparing the tesla to the singularity... Tesla: + Produces far more power than you could ever imagine - Electrocutes nearby mobs and equipment when grounding rods are gone - Can easily overload APCs if hotwired Singularity: + Nostalgic? - Is a round-ender when released - Emits EMPs and radiation regularly - Requires the collectors to be set up - Can be released by fiddling with the PA I'm not sure why you'd ever use the latter. Discuss.
