This is what ss13 used to look like. It took me like 5 minutes to figure out but you talk on common by prefixing [h]. It's pretty hilarious.

This is the entire security department in the old preserved version I have. I think this was the "new, bigger" station at the time. Windoors and single reinforced panes are the norm across a lot of the map. Oh, and the 3 computers in security are a communications console, and ID computer and the security records computer. However, there is a prison station that's a third the size of the entire main station, along with dedicated jobs to staff it. lol.

Trigger warning on all images: terrible graphics

A bad view of the (heat differential-based) engine's combustion chamber. Vents and scrubbers use the same sprite and neither connect to pipes, even though pipes exist (only for the engine, atmos mixing, and toxins lab). There are no underfloor pipes for reference. It's amazing. APC's work the same as now largely, which is funny.

Medbay Lobby, peaking into genetics. Interestingly, monkeys have the sprite we still use today. (Cameras and SMES's do too).

    Name: H.E.X.A.N.E.

    Age: 4, mentally ~20.

    Gender: Identifies as female*.

    Race: IPC

    Blood Type: 5W-30

General Occupational Role(s): Primarily Life Support Specialist, also Maintenance Technician, occasionally businessbot.

    Biography:

Harmonious EXtinguishing Air Neutralizing Engine was built by The Omnifoam Company to test fire extinguishers. The company's accountants didn't realize until it was too late that they blew their entire R&D budget on building IPC's for every mundane task imaginable, and Omnifoam went bankrupt, liquidizing all assets. They realized half-way through selling off their assets that IPC's were legally people on their planet, so H.E.X.A.N.E. was freed. Thankfully, in order to be fully qualified in properly testing fire extinguishers, she had learned all there was to know about thermodynamics, the latest air management technology, and using wrenches. Combined with being used to being payed in welder fuel, she was a shoe-in for being hired at NanoTrasen as a Life Support Specialist.

    Qualifications:

    • Class-C Fire Extinguisher Operations License

    • Atmospherics Maintenance

    Station Repairs

    Both Pinging & Buzzing Certificates

    Disposal Maintenance

    Forging the Fire Marshal's Signiture

    Employment Records:

    • 3 years at The Omnifoam Company's Headquarters

    • 1 year at Nanotrasen aboard the NSS Cyberiad

    Security Records:

    • Apparently gaining all access to fill every floor tile in science in scrubbers and fire alarms is illegal. The 2 meter wide banner instructing scientists to please not blow themselves up upon starting their shift was possibly going too far.

    Medical Records:

    • Technically was completely destroyed and rebuilt multiple times.

    Other Notes:

    * - H.E.X.A.N.E. doesn't care enough to correct people when they refer to her as "he".

How'd you even make this? Because this is probably the most useful thing I have seen yet.

I utilitized jQuery, html5, Bootstrap and Leaflet.js to create a github pages webapp. Is skrekfinder.vx interface with database set to secure NT station blueprints. Database computer was left logged in with all access clown ID.

    Sounds like it'd lag.

It lags to shit when admins upload long global midis, but with them running all the time, though?

And I'd much rather we not have a role replacing what anyone else can do if they're not pussies enough to stay out of space.

The media streaming system that the jukebox uses (and the radio in crew quarters would use if the dj station's equipment worked) uses a VLC player in a hidden browser pane, that streams oggs directly from a web server (this web server in our case). It places no load on the game server and clientside buffers in parallel to the game running. So, lag isn't an issue unless you're on dialup or equivalent.

  5. When there's 10+ people in the medical department on the manifest, but then when you get to medbay, there is absolutely no presence at reception or response after calling, even after several minutes (I see rotting corpses in reception at least once a day). This happens way too often and is the reason everyone breaks in at the first chance.
