Most of these changed don't really seem to impact the station that much. While they'd make engineering a bit more interesting when it comes to power issues, it won't really change much in terms of the power being binary or somehow make power a more interesting aspect of gameplay. My proposition for nerfing the tesla would be lowering its power output to make it so that it starts out as a much less powerful engine, but with the PA on grows in strength to outpace the singularity about an hour into the round, making it somewhat of a long-term project. Possibly making it start out at an extremely low output, meaning more ways of generating power early on would be necessary.

Synthflesh spray is the only application for the sprays besides space cleaner. If you remove it you might as well get rid of bottle alltogether. People were talking about nerf in lube on the discord. How about lube having a chance to slip a person instead of being a surefire way to lock down an area? That will solve a big chunk of spray problems. If you're not slipped then a deathspray will be massively less dangerous, possibly not needing a nerf at all.
-
This would make it impossible to use the Chem bottle for healing. Spamming 1u of synthflesh won't help at all. If anything, we should just stick to nursing lube and Blacklisting chems. Not changing the bottle's output.
-
You only need 1u of lube to make things slippery, not 1.9u. Blacklisting plasma won't blacklist plasma derivatives, those are different chems. 100 1u sprays is more than 10 5u sprays.

How about reducing their capacity to only be able to hold 50u at a time? That will make it so that you have to carry around a bucket to refill the bottle with and will make quite a bit more sense. It will also be way easier to code and making some weird interactions with certain chems will just confuse people who have never used it. To me it seems that spray bottles are only abusable if people don't know you're in possession of them, which makes them similar to most other dangerous stuff. If sec knows you have one it's their own fault for getting caught off-guard and deathsprayed to death.

Basic Telecomms Job Script with Customization!
FlattestGuitar replied to LightFire53's topic in Guides
Tzo, I've stolend you script and use it every time I can, how do I credit you or whoever came up with it ICly? Also, this is the robust translation script everyone loves. I'm pretty sure crediting people in your scripts should be a standard, but who knows... -
Okay, this is what I came up with last night. It's VERY WiP so don't be too harsh. Let me know what to change and all that. lore thingy

There was one round I had as a blueshield a long time ago where we had the RD shouting for help on comms and then his death alarm going off in Robotics. When I got to the science wing I saw a dirty tator standing over his corpse, but I couldn't get in. I asked the AI to open, but by the time the airlock opened both the RD and the tator teleported out with a parasite. Ever since then I ask for all-access, because that's literally the only thing could have saved the RD that shift, but I didn't have it. It's not like a blueshield will just devastate a department by having access to it, and I don't imagine looting important equipment left and right to be something that happens either. If it does, it's literally a crime.

So I imagine the idea is that they don't actually wear special suits, considering those neat sprites you posted earlier. Possibly encourage wearing some winter coats to make things interesting? Are there any special drawbacks to actually being exposed to room temperatures beyond "being uncomfortable"? How easy it is for them to obtain the supercooled air? Seems like it's either a roundstart item they get, meaning super easy, or one that only scientists and atmos techs have access to, meaning super hard. In either case - balanceeeeee. All in all - this is probably the best idea for a new race I've seen in a long time, +1 so much. Also, I can help out with the lore if I get some pointers and the race's actual functionality in the code is set.

Seems pretty silly to mention only non-command personnel in the first line. I feel like this whole entry could be made way shorter. Possibly allow it in case of a large danger to the station? Nuke ops, meteor storms and so on... I've often seen the HoP give out all-access like cookies and there isn't much harm to it if there's a blob locked inside electrical maint or some other hard to access place. I know I'm probably the largest abuser of this myself, but it is pretty sensible to at least ask for basic access to a few places like heads' offices or the mining station just in case there's nobody around to give it to the Blueshield when it's desperately needed. How about just stating that access to a department can only happen with its head's full approval?

The atmos or CE suit will override that fire with 100% temp resistance. FLAME ON!!!

New medicine idea! - Fixes brute and burn damage on cybernetic limbs - Works only on organics, because bluespace and it would be abusable for IPCs - Deals toxin damage as it's metabolised - Is hard to make Robotics already doesn't get 100% of patients with cybernetic damage as you can just run around and find cable coil and a welder. This will make medbay be able to deal with COMPLETELY EVERYTHING if they get their chems right. Yay or nay?

But... why? The company policy should be the drinks are either free or not. Letting the bartender choose will just make this unnecessarily complicated. Whiskey is a basic human right.

- Styptic Powder and Silver Sulf both cause toxing damage only on the act of ingestion, not on being metabolized - Both of those chems heal both on touch AND being metabolized - Sleepers have no flags defining the type of application, so just like the hypospray they won't trigger anything I think it's a good idea to add Silver Sulf to the sleepers. Right now cryotubes are the "lazy" option and adding this functionality to the sleeper would make them quite a bit more useful.

Bwagh, I just have traitor turned on for the non-murder objectives. I don't like killing people. The martial arts scroll is a fun thing to buy and derp around with, though not when you're a botanist. Using the floral somatoray dishonors the clan (obviously, true botanists use left4zed), so I had stop botanying sooner than I'd have liked. Still, fun times.

That was Eli's third time. Got released for not being guilty at all with a minor exception of having the martial arts and a signed confession of being a traitor in my satchel, but everyone was nice and professional and let me go break into Captain's office. That one was neat too.
-
Eli has been brigged only once (other than that time where he tried to mindslave the Captain....). That was when he stopped a vigilante Detective + cough Jay cough Wingler cough team running around with a baton, a stunprod a and lust for unjustified arrests. The detective proved unrobust and Jay got lost somwhere in the middle of the fight, that was an easy victory. By the end of his sentence Eli was friends with the detective and he even got a cigarette though, so it was neat.

Rynnt is a cool dude. Eli definitely doesn't hate him. +1
