Britain. Land of shit food and racism. Also some cool things, I guess, like great engineering works, museums, castles, ruins, the NHS, and whatnot.

Make Heater/Freezer Pipes Rotate Clockwise
Professor Cupcake replied to Shadeykins's topic in Suggestions
This. Oh gods please this. Why is it random anyway?! Stupidity! -
I concur. I was training under him one round today. He had a whole bunch of supercooled plasma, which we put into 4 canisters, with plenty still left over. He also had a canister of supercooled nitrous oxide, which we released to make this: Winter wonderland!

I think callijg in an ERT for this is a little over the top, but otherwise I kinda like the idea otherwise. Maybe just instruct the crew to reset it, instead of sending an ERT for a basic job at great expense to the company?

Cupcake's Characters

It's okay. He's not from a species that tends to hold grudges for entire generations. Oh wait. -
Transfer of Consciousness a.k.a. body swapping
Professor Cupcake replied to Keroman's topic in Suggestions
NTSAM, maybe you should , it's nowhere near as drastic as you are making out. But anyway, transferring posibrains into organics doesn't really make sense. Not sure why anyone thinks it's a good idea, even if it might result in some interesting RP situations. -
Add the option to remove the bag and put heads on it instead.

Remove the Die a Glorious Death objective.
Professor Cupcake replied to FlattestGuitar's topic in Suggestions
It's encouragement to create a moment that is memorable, entertaining and with your own personal touch. It's an objective that is not just a clearcut "do this and you win", making it a much more valuable objective than any other. Sure, if you take a purely gameplay min-maxing, play-to-win focus, it's a stupid objective, but if you are taking things that way, you shouldn't be playing SS13. -
Kyle Christopher Lasskaklassh Korsskor VGTG Coming soon™ None of this is to a standard that I'd like, but it's been sitting in my drafts for too long so I decided to just post it. Bleh.

Faxing CC: Everything that's wrong with the updates to cargo
Professor Cupcake replied to alexpkeaton's topic in Suggestions
And what's so great about TG's system that we need to thoroughly ruin ours to make it fit? -
There's an engineering outpost?!

Faxing CC: Everything that's wrong with the updates to cargo
Professor Cupcake replied to alexpkeaton's topic in Suggestions
So, uh... why were any of these changes made in the first place? They all sound awful. Well, apart from the reporting of point gains from sending stuff back. That's something we actually needed. -
+1 to this, partly because I want to try out the other engines I've heard about, and also because I completely agree with your first point: Engineering rarely ever seems to do any engineering beyond renovating the Assembly Line because we're all bored.

Remove research console access requirement
Professor Cupcake replied to GelatinousGlob's topic in Suggestions
Possible: Have it locked by default? That might screw with stations that have no RD, but even then the AI can still do it for them, right? -
Jealousy? ツ

Why not both?

Remove research console access requirement
Professor Cupcake replied to GelatinousGlob's topic in Suggestions
pointless. Screwdriver->screwdriver->lock bypassed with literally 5 seconds of effort. So maybe - and now bear with me here 'cause this is pretty crazy - fix that? -
Remove research console access requirement
Professor Cupcake replied to GelatinousGlob's topic in Suggestions
I'd argue a better option is allowing the permission requirements for the consoles to be altered somehow. That way, R&D still has their secure consoles, but they are not omnipotent in their control of it. Perhaps make it the same as altering airlock permissions (thus also making them hackable)? -
It seems to me that the best thing to do is just to make it visible.

+1 Having limbs be disabled without being removed could also make for some more interesting injuries and incapacitations. Maybe also make it so that a limb can become disabled due to infection? That'd make infected wounds much more of a threat, rather than just feeling a bit off. Extra idea: disabled limbs can't be fixed. They must be amputated and replaced if you want to use them again.
-
Wait, it's invisible? Since when? I swear I've seen it as blue smears on the floor before.

Yes.
