  1. I would love this, as a frequent user of accents.
  2. Can't remember how I stumbled upon them, but I did. I was personally thinking of making a few videos on my own YouTube channel doing the same concept back when I was a regular Head of Security player, but never got around to it for a few reasons. The most prevalent one was the fact that I achieved admin status and didn't have the time during regular rounds to play Security and administrate at the same time. I have a feeling that if I did end up returning to play security and decided to make a video, it would be less informative and more of me swearing endlessly at my computer screen (as ze HoS does). Not to mention that I'm the least robust HoS regular to ever grace the server, I was mostly praised for management and reliability. Watching me play HoS would be a bit void of entertainment.
  3. Says the one man that actually presents full reports.
  4. (Authors note: VALKYR'S starting up his own little news report, which details events that happen on other NanoTrasen owned stations. These reports are announced in game, and then will be documented here so I can keep track of continuity (and also so no one misses out). A few of these will have events attached to them. I apologize about the formatting in advance: I hope to fix it up soon-ish. Enjoy!) Introduction HELLO, CYBERIAD! VICE ADMIRAL VALKYR HERE! AS MANY OF YOU ARE ALREADY AWARE OF, CENTCOMM IS IN CHARGE OF MULTIPLE STATIONS, RESEARCH AND OTHERWISE, ACROSS THE EPSILON ERIDANI SYSTEM! HOWEVER, THE NSS CYBERIAD IS OFTEN ISOLATED FROM THE OTHER STATIONS IN THE SYSTEM! IN AN ATTEMPT TO UNIFY OUR VARIOUS EMPLOYEES ACROSS OUR FIFTEEN STATIO-UH.... FOURTEEN STATIONS, WE WILL PERIODICALLY BE PROVIDING NEW REPORTS AND STATUS UPDATES FROM YOUR NEIGHBOURS! WE HOPE YOU ENJOY THE REPORTS, AND HAVE A GREAT DAY! Entry One HELLO, CYBERIAD! VICE ADMIRAL VALKYR HERE! IT HAS RECENTLY COME TO OUR ATTENTION THAT THE NSV LUNA HAS HAD ISSUES WITH THEIR CLONING MACHINES. THE MAIN CONSOLE OF THEIR CLONER MANAGED TO MALFUNCTION, AND HAS BEEN PRODUCING CLONES OF THE CREWMEMBERS WORKING ON THE VESSEL. NONE OF THE CREWMEMBERS ON THE NSV LUNA WERE DEAD AT THE TIME. MORE ON THIS STORY AS IT DEVELOPS! IN THE MEANTIME, WE WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU CHECK YOUR CLONING MACHINES! Entry Two HELLO! YET ANOTHER ISSUE OF THE TRURL TRIBUNAL: CC'S OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER ON THE EVENTS OF YOUR NEIGHBOURING STATIONS! THE NSS REDEMPTION'S CAPTAIN, FRANK BLASCO, HAS RECENTLY MADE A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL NANOTRASEN STATIONS WITHIN THE EPSILON ERIDANI SYSTEM. IN THIS ANNOUNCEMENT, HE BEGAN TO GO ON A LONG RANT ABOUT HOW OUR EYES ARE NOT REAL, AND ARE IMPLANTED INTO HUMANS BY BIRTH BY NANOTRASEN IN ORDER TO TRICK PEOPLE INTO THINKING THEY ARE MADE OF SOLID MATTER. THE CAPTAIN THEN PROCEEDED TO TRANSFORM INTO THOUSANDS OF SMALL SPIDERS, WHICH THEN BEGAN TO ATTACK THE REMAINING CREW ON THE NSS REDEMPTION. WE WOULD LIKE TO FIRMLY DENY THESE CLAIMS. YOU ARE ALL MADE OF REAL, SOLID MATTER. MORE REPORTS WILL BE MADE ABOUT THE NSS REDEMPTION AS THE SITUATION DEVELOPS!
  5. Hallo!
  6. Metastation has been a work in progress for our code base for at least the past 9 months or so (possibly even longer). It's been taking so long to adapt because our code base is a unique, Frankenstein cross between Bay and /TG/ code, that everyone simply calls "Paracode." We've been slowly but surely adjusting MetaStation, part by part, in order to make it compatible with our code base. We've run Meta Station as a map a few times; once in December, once in June/July. Both times have recieved mixed reviews and have resulted in numerous bugs being reported. There are a few things that stand in its way currently. The most important thing to keep in mind is that the project head, Tigercat2000, has recently retired. I believe FreeStylat has picked up the project again to some sort of capacity, but as far as I'm aware, no ones working on it full time at the moment. There also is the fact that some people may simply not want to switch over to Metastation from Box Station. Other coders/staff members/etc (I'm probably the least qualified person to talk about this) can elaborate/correct my points/toss in their comments. Just know that, yes, Meta Station is a thing that we are aware of and have made progress towards implementing.
  7. I mean... yes. That's the entire point. He even directly mentions it. This is something we don't want, something we constantly get complaints about, and something that I'm glad people are looking into changing. Not to mention that the Cargo shuttle notifications would be nice as well. It could lead to less gibbed miners. It will also give CT's more of a heads up as to where the cargo shuttle is (Anyone that plays cargo will constantly ask themselves "Huh, did I not send the shuttle back?"). Overall, +1, but with the feature freeze in place I don't know if this is possible to add.
  8. I AM going to be an active person answering questions in the voice chat, but I figure that there's no harm in me adding my own question, just to generate some discussion. With the cult rework by Fethas coming soon, what are some of your opinions on our current game modes, and what makes a good/bad game mode?
  9. HAH, I started out the game learning those jobs myself. Botany and Genetics. Stick with botany for a while; it's surprisingly complex once you get into mutations and gene splicing. Thanks for choosing Paradise! Enjoy your stay!
  10. Regular Engineers ALSO don't have ORM access. Why? ... No clue, I've been asking that question for months, but never really got an answer. If anyone could give me one, that would be appreciated.
  11. LikeIt/10 There might be a few minor edits or gripes that other people will have, but off of my first impressions I like it.
  12. Woot! Mead bay! That was a VERY merry Christmas. Here's a prelude to
  13. Here ya go, Ace
  14. Right then, before I go off on this, there was one question. I was comparing this to our current Legal SoP, and I noticed that this revision lacked a "Punishments" section. Would we be retaining the already existing version of punishments?
  15. Name: Vah’ris Makin Age: 31 Gender: Male Race: Tajaran Blood Type: O- General Occupational Role(s): Engineering, Security, Supply Biography: Vah’ris was born on October 1st, 2528 to [Redacted] and [Redacted] Makin as an only child. His father was a mechanic and his mother was a cook. His birthplace was Ahdomai, though he and his family fled the planet during the first week of the revolution, thus Vah’ris spent his entire childhood in space. The family jumped between freighter ships that Mr. Makin was tasked to maintain. Vah’ris was homeschooled during this period by his father. At the age of 18 (2546), Vah’ris moved alone to an independant space station called “The Chariot”, which was a freelance vessel owned by the business mogul Vincent Glasser. It’s primary source of income was Asteroid Mining; the nearby asteroids holding an abundance of plasma. The products were primarily sold to NanoTrasen for profit. The station also acted as a hotspot for Syndicate activity; it was revealed later on that many Syndicate operations that commenced on the NSV Luna originated from The Chariot. Vah’ris worked as a Plasma Miner on The Chariot for three years, later moving on to become a Space Whaler (Though his job was not strictly limited to whales: he also dealt with Space Carp, Space Cows, and the infamous Space Chinchillas). At the same time, Vah’ris was a part time employee on several NanoTrasen Vessels, acting with the maintenance crew to keep the ships running during off hours. Over the course of ten years, Vah’ris has been directly linked to fifty four syndicate theft missions, thirty two assassinations, and has been directly involved in two successful Nuke Ops Operations. He has likely been involved in several more. Vah’ris was caught and arrested on the (then brand new) NSS Exodus on July 21st, 2555, after a botched Nuke Ops Operation which resulted in Vah’ris being teleported and merged into the stations communication console. Vah’ris’s cooperation after his arrest later led to the arrest of several Syndicate Agents aboard The Chariot, as well as The Chariot itself. This severely hindered Syndicate Operations within the Tau Ceti Solar System for years. Vah’ris was transferred to NT’s Maximum Security Prison [Redacted], located on [Redacted], and was put through severe re-education. Reportedly, Vah’ris was one of the first humanoids to experience Loyalty Implants. After four years of this intensive process, Vah’ris was released and sentenced to work on the NSS Redemption, and later the NSS Cyberiad, as a Security Officer. Off duty, he commonly works as an Engineer or Miner. Vah’ris has since acquired the following medals and has been offered a position as Head of Security. x1 Medal of Valor Achieved for abandoning his post as a warden to finish off an escaping full power vampire in Sec Maint. x1 Distinguished Conduct Medal Achieved for effectively keeping the majority of the station in working order despite bombings and being the only active Engineer. x1 Distinguished Conduct Medal, x1 Medal of Exceptional Heroism Both achieved with the station AI for effectively setting up the engine despite containment and wires being damaged due to a singularity release earlier in the shift. x1 Medal of Valor Achieved for robustness during a cult shift. His efforts and the efforts of the rest of the security team lead to the complete destruction of the Cult of Nar’sie, despite discovering them an hour into the shift. x1 Medal of Exceptional Heroism, x1 Medal of Valor Achieved for one kill and one assist during a Nuke Ops war. Qualifications: -10+ years of experience working as a Station Engineer; no official qualification -9 years of experience working as a Miner; no official qualification -NanoTrasen Intensive Officer Training Course. Passed. Employment Records: Extremely muddy due to his tendency to constantly take multiple jobs. We started a new Employment Record for him that started after his re-education -NSS Redemption: October 24, 2559-April 9th, 2560 -NSS Cyberiad: April 11th, 2560-Present Security Records: Formerly worked for the Syndicate as a full time agent. Is now completely loyal to NT after intense re-education. Medical Records: -After a NT re-education program, Vah’ris’s mental state may have deteriorated significantly. However, he has not shown any signs of insanity or mental damage. -Has a tendency to lose limbs, especially during mining operations. -May have a slight addiction to morphine, often requesting it instead of anesthetics during surgery. Personnel Photo (Appearance text): The tall cat stands at 6’2 and looks to be in his thirties. His muscled arms, if visible, are covered in a red tribal tattoo. Commendations [only to be added by admin]: Reprimands [only to be added by admin]: Other Notes: Finally.
  16. Realistically speaking, there is no reason NOT to have them maxed out. Even if it's Extended, you're still working aboard a space station with multiple potential workplace hazards. Safety first. No, I completely agree, suit sensors should always be maxed by crew members and I hate making announcements about it, but it should at least be mentioned that they aren't mandatory so that certain people don't start lynch lists on code green. This isn't a matter of me disagreeing with the concept of suit sensors, this is a matter of me wanting to make sure that the crew is fully informed about what their suit sensor level has to be on on certain Code Levels. And unless we're changing SoP, as of right now the crew SHOULD be informed that suit sensors don't have to be maxed all of the time. Not mandatory to be on on Green, not mandatory to be maxed on Blue.
  17. Alright, I... had a giant nitpick all typed out about three days ago, but my computer crashed after about an hour in and I lost all the work. I'm FINALLY coming back to this now, but I'm going to REALLY summarize my points here. Sorry that this took so long to push out! PINGS NITPICKS 3: WHY THE FUCK AM I DOING THIS EDITION (Short Version) Ok, here are the major points that need to be sent across. Random Searches/Suspicious Searches Ok, the way I interpret this is that there are TWO types of searches: Random Searches and Normal Searches. Random Searches are done completely randomly with no provocation whatsoever. Normal Searches are done when there's adequate evidence or suspicion that the person in question has completed a crime. Got it? Sweet, let's move on. As it is written right now, normal searches can be completed on code green if the person being searched is suspicious enough. This is clarified not ONLY here... ...but ALSO under Security SoP, here: However, code RED SoP seems to take is a step BACKWARDS by saying that Random Searches are permitted for suspicious personnel. Suspicious personnel sounds like a regular ass search to me. This is a step back from Blue SoP as well, since it allows for all personnel to be searched. Now, the main reason why I spent so much time on this is because I really want searches to be clarified. A month ago there was a bunch of controversy that the CMO was searched by security without a warrant, despite suspicion being cast towards him, which would suggest that the search wasn't random and therefore didn't need a warrant. Granted, that entire situation was stupid as fuck, but I really do think that Normal Searches and Random Searches need completely reworked and clear definitions so that things like this don't happen again. Suit Sensors These mostly refer to General Crew 1. for all alert levels. Both Green and Blue say "It's recommended that suit sensors are set to max". That's... nice, but that's definitely not what the procedure is as far as I'm aware. Code Green should say: "Suit Sensors are not required to be on." Code Blue should say: "Suit Sensors are required to be on, but not required to be maxed." Recommendations are great of course, and ultimately, maxed suit sensors are nice, but at least actually list what the proper procedure is for suit sensors instead of just saying "Eh, you should probably have them maxed anyways." Department Transit (Ah boy) Well first of all, if nothing in this section gets changed, at least change this For... obvious reasons. There may be more cases of this in Blue and Red, but yknow. I'm lazy and don't wanna find them. Anyhow, I'm completely against trying to keep staff members in their department for several reasons -There is a confirmed threat to the station; in my opinion Security should be dealing with that threat that is confirmed, not playing Shepard to a bunch of Greytide. -Jobs such as Engineering, Paramedics, etc. should be able to move around the station freely in case of emergency (I think they're addressed in Code Gamma, but not in Code Red. -No ones going to follow this. This has probably been argued about before in reply's before mine, buuuuuut I'm lazy and didn't read them. However, I'll stop talking about this now and move on. PLs remove. The Rest of the Stuff that's super minor -The NSS Cyberiad and NTV Charon seem to be regarded as two separate vessels, yet according to this page, Space Law only applies to the NSS Cyberiad. Just an oversight I noticed, but it still might wanna be clarified that the NTV Charons rules and the NSS Cyberiads rules are the same. -Under Singularity Containment Failure. 2 and 3 should likely be changed to "a" and "b" in order to look nicer. Just a personal opinion. -Under Tesla Containment Failure. The Tesla Matrix has a chance to drift of into space (I've seen it a total of one time), so cases where it leaves should be referred to in SoP. Also, locker hiding was nerfed in the most recent patch to the game, so that might need to be looked at again. -Under Fires/Gas Spills. 3 and 4 could probably just be summarized into "Engineering Staff should proceed to restore the affected areas to workable(?) conditions." If there were anything else I wanted to change, I've forgotten them. I'll probably remember what they are again after the SoP is finalized, cause I'm dumb. But yeah, that's all I have for now.
  18. Ayy, another screenshot dump
  19. I don't want to go FULL nitpick node since TZO already did his blurb, but I'll add a few of my thoughts when I was just skimming the SoP If the person is suspicious enough for the HoS, Captain, or Magistrate to actually go out of their way to sign a search warrant, is it still considered a "Random" search? I feel like the chapel should be added to that list; just because it feels REALLY fitting. I'll do a full fledged nitpicking after the first few rounds of comments and changes are made.
  20. Praxis, Flip, and Pablo plan their Greytide mission.
  21. Yeeeep, I remember Itzel. Welcome!
