maybe he's given some kind of spoof ID that he can use to redirect it?

Alright, let's consider Space Law for a moment. Minor Crimes - Generally the same. Medium Crimes - Rewording of Rioting, modifying creating a workplace hazard (addressed below) "Participation in mass aggressive or malicious actions as part of a protest. Peaceful protests do not apply to rioting." Major Crimes - Here's where it gets tricky. Possession of Contraband - modifying any reference to Syndicate or EoC, defining contraband more directly. "Possessing or using items which are a) protected items, such as Vault contents, or Head of Staff items like the blueprints or b) known hostile entity objects. such as Cult equipment, unapproved implants, or weapons. Crew who report or turn in contraband are exempt from this law." Kidnapping of an Officer - modification To hold a member of Command, Security or any SolGov/Investor VIP under duress, against their will. Assault of an Officer - modification To use excessive physical force against a Department Head, Magistrate, SolGov/Investor VIP, or member of Security without the apparent intent to kill them. Sabotage - Removed (see bwlow) Major Trespass - Removed (see below) B&E of a Restricted Area - Removed, integrated with B&E. Now, I removed some, let's go over why I did that. If the Station is to come under SolGov authority, there's no longer going to be any station-specific or Corporate-specific laws, instead this will be replaced by the Internal Affairs offenses, governed primarily by the Law department, which has its abilities expanded on. The system of this would be things such as employment terminations or demotions, fines, equipment confiscations, or downright termination, which may also confine the subject to the permabrig if the situation deems it necessary. Crimes will remain mostly the same, except now you aren't being jailed for 20 minutes for breaking into a restricted area--you're just being jailed for breaking and entering, with the 'restricted area' part managed by the Law team, and the captain or HoP required to approve actions like demotion or termination. I can't think of any full and proper punishment details right now, but I'm sure they'll come if they're needed. If you wanted a full barebones rewrite, fuck you (unless this is a real thing, in which case sounds !!FUN!!)
-
NT software etc perhaps.
-
I. Fucking. Dare you. To prove that statement correct. Kay I'll post it here in a few hours when I get home.
-
- Spesslaw rewrite is easy, I could probably whip up a basic one. - SoP largely remains the same, just edited to fit new spess law and environment - Fax machines to go investors, or maybe SolGov instead of CC - ERT are Solgov marines or some kind of PMC force
-
Kudos for proper use of !!FUN!!. Recently had a xeno infestation in viro, went in with two other people armed with AEGs. One damn xeno murdered us all, only using tackle and xenospit. If we only made xenos more balanced like longer stuns when they leap into a wall instead of 1-1.5 second or perhaps make their leaps more limited in range, say an instant leap in 4 tiles, charged leap (.75 sec) for longer than that

It's too far reaching for a gamemode. It'd allow us a lot of mechanics from Goon like cargo needing money, payroll, and departmental budgeting. This would essentially be the economic update, with some other aesthetic and mechanical changes. e: also captain should be more of a station manager than the owner, since admins will never give up der final autoritah.
-
Station owner may express his disamusement by perfomance of any private company working as department. And he have money that would be a problem. People dont want to lose their contracts so it would be possible that if HoS is an idiot the rest of contractors would stuncuff him and choose someone as their new leader. That would never happen. Opening up these 'no authority' situations is just bad. CE starts turning off gravity. "Turn it on" "You aren't my boss!" What do you do then? Fire all of engineering? Make it all under the same umbrella. Similar hierarchy as we have currently, except no more NT.
-
This makes me imagine something similar to privatized prisons--companies manage it and retain profits, but they're mere contractors who can have their contract removed. This would also open up a deeper economic system. No more cargo points, BUY cargo with MONEY. Pay people with adjustable wages. Finally give use to departmental budgeting. However, all heads still need to be under captain, able to be terminated, etc. or else our well oiled machine falls apart.

I still can't understand what you're saying, now you're just rambling. From what I COULD deduce from that, is you want 'experimentation' with the game to happen elsewhere. If we shove all new players into an area, they never learn how to be experienced because they aren't interacting with experience. If you don't compete with someone better than you, you'll never improve. I think SS13 has plenty of natural consequences to help you learn the game by yourself. At worst, you blow up toxins and kill someone. You're probably forgiven, since you're new. It isn't like any damage is permanent. I will admit rounds are long, but they're just that, rounds. e: there's also the boxing ring if you want to fight
-
Sounds like you want to set the precedent of no rules. 'Hey, there's no rules as survivors, no other jobs have rules either then, right?' Then they're confused as to why they're banned, despite not knowing better. You learn ss13 by experimentation. Break a window to space? The area loses oxygen and depressurizes. Punch Security? They beat your face in and lock you in a 2x3 box.
-
This is why we educate, have you ever walked into a game instantly knowing how to play? I don't understand this post, but from my understanding, you... -Want more roleslots (kinda agreed) -Think we need to start finding ways to eliminate the greytide -Give newer players responsibility (hell to the no) -Stop nerfing things (featurefreeze so yeah true) -Stop hiding the server (we don't)
-
I do not understand you whatsoever.
-
>says im outdated >literally play daily at peak times excuse you sir I don't see greytiding as a problem, because it's a part of SS13 and a part of what gives the game its charm...the freedom to do almost whatever, however you want. If that involves harassing Security or kidnapping the clown and forcing it to spin around on a table while you whip it with a cable coil, then awesome.
-
If you want a job, mark it as high and unless it's a head job there is a 90% chance you'll get it. As far as a new player, not only ARE they civvies, it's ENCOURAGED to be a civvie, as you aren't accountable for much. Besides, why control the greytide? It makes things interesting.
-
but all of those roles are guaranteed to exist, even if you don't get the spot. if you want a role for it, add a gateway explorer one with EVA and Gateway access, that spawns in EVA
-
sounds hit and miss, either you're a gateway explorer or something else
-
but what do we do with that role when it ISNT compatible
-
not all gateway maps are compatible with that Take the syndicate one for example *spawns* *syndicagent comes over and starts powerful ROBUSTness!* *dead in 5 min*
-
Middle click is already 'point to' I like the rest though.

I will not deny the salt here--who thinks of a problem until it's theirs, right? Being no philanthropist, there's my mindset. As far as your compromise, sure, it's fine, but it doesn't address the underlying issue here, which is emagging a maint drone is essentially a free all-access pass with zero station accountability, since it has no specific job, and isn't remotely signified to be emagged. At least with a borg, the AI has a notion, as does anyone with a robotics console, that something's wrong. Since drones are arguably more useful than a cyborg, what counter is there to walking around with all access on your head? Well, make it visible. Make it glow red, make it somehow stand out. As you said, drones have no rights, so why would a tampered drone need to not be at least remotely visibly emagged? It can ventcrawl for stealth, it has all access to run away, or disrupt pursuers, and it is probably the stealthiest tool in the entire game, as it can literally walk up and deconstruct drone computers, turrets, hell, even the AI, because its just that versatile. I can concede to not nerfing it's abilities, but instead nerfing its nigh invisibility.
-
Then don't remove it. There was some idea of changing the drones' operation to wrecking up everything instead of taking orders. That seems like it'd fit the script if people are opposed to giving it a more standing out sprite when emagged, as well as being easily blowable.
-
can u not it seems redundant (since you can emag borgs) and also a little 'much' since it isn't necessarily clear that they ARE emagged, which really should be a thing given it's such a powerful thing (it can ventcrawl, and do a lot of stuff since it's an all-access non-accountable drone) that can't be blown from the console once it's emagged. But it IS i ded, you're mad that you got killed by an emagged drone. It's not redundant, borgs cannot ventcrawl or sabotage areas as effectively. Drones have low health anyway. I think the other reply above fits well.
