  1. Ayyyyy Hopefully this can be one of those not so serious modes where we don't have everyone playing to win, the aliens having to ensure their victims get back "alive" should end up with some funny situations even if they are EoC, maybe have their existence be officially denied by NT though? It'd be a good setup for the truth being out there.
  2. Aliss Piersen reporting in.
  3. Blueshield has no chill, always 2serious.
  4. More things using more power perhaps? The chem machines requiring input to recharge make sense, how about sleepers/cyro pods being energy intensive if they're left on? It'd make sense for cyborg charges to transfer the energy from an APC to the borg (better parts = more efficiency?), have printing things off in R&D drain the APC a little perhaps? Same for those recharge stations that the brig has? I really like the idea of departmental SMES', it'd finally make localized sabotage a thing.
  5. Supercop chang lings probably fall under the valid hunting rules?
  6. Just remove their perma-insta-stun disarm powers and 90% of the problem goes away, one xeno can take on an infinite amount of non-mech attackers if it's fast enough. The quality of life stuff like firelock opening shouldn't be a problem, the health buff though I don't think would be a good idea, they're already robust enough.
  7. It'd be nice if the tazing on sight thing wasn't a thing, it's to be expected when there's a known danger or it's red alert and there's s-lings running around or something but the whole "he's criminal scum? light 'em up without saying anything!" regardless of circumstances is getting really annoying.
  8. I managed to dismantle it a few rounds ago and a helpful admin spawned in a board for me, it's buildable and upgradable but the circuit board isn't creatable/acquirable.
  9. Grinding a corpse nets you three delicious meats and one strip of skin, plus some lovely gore of course. In comparison, butchering a monkey gets you no less than five bits of meat and a bunch of organs too, upgrading the gibber adds nothing to it's efficiency. To produce a respectable amount of soylent green you need a lotta dead people, even more if you want a full set of snazzy bloated human skin clothes, it'd be nice if upgrading the gibber's parts at least made it's yield less terrible but ways to better it's efficiency in general would be great.
  10. Just use a meatspike, functionally the same thing.
  11. I'd do this more often myself, but getting a cap level ID can often be a pain. If emagging the console removed the access requirement though I bet we'd see a lot more usage.
  12. Giving all those power cells lying around a reason to exist that doesn't involve stun batons? Yes please.
  13. It's just another one of those problems that aren't really problems, like smoking in the medbay.
  14. The only reason buckets are used so much are because they're marginally more efficient than typical beakers, this what we get for having a competent playerbase Maybe put something in SoP about only using "hygienic" items?
  15. The smell thing would only end up being more trouble than it's worth most likely, it's a good idea but it just wouldn't go well and be abused to high heaven (same as vox freaking leap). The reagent effects would be interesting though, maybe with lower OD thresholds (10/15 instead of the usual 30 or so) as opposed to outright damage? then it'd still be a disadvantage that can be taken advantage of (auto inject them into submission!) whilst not being particularly game breaking. That'd still leave vulps without a legup to the tarajans nightvision however... I'm no expert or anything but I can say with confidence that a dog's stamina is something very special indeed, it's something they all share and is arguably their main evolutionary advantage, a straight up speed boost would be too unbalanced and not very accurate, so how about a greater stamina reserve/faster stamina regen? something minor but still significant. I'm referring specifically to stamina here though not stun resistance, that's something else entirely (ie: tasers/explosions stun the same, disablers/boxing gloves somewhat less effective).
  16. So that's where my backpack full of loot ended up, I KNEW sec held onto it
  17. Do they start with backpacks? Because the Vox would be 1000% less unrobust if they just had backpacks. Yes please all the same, the omnipresence of player vox kinda ruins the feel of traiders for me anyway, keeping them as a mid-round side-antag would be nice though.
  18. This. Unless you get the "right sort" of HoP... A lot of heads make it their mission to be as no fun allowed as possible, a couple of alternate titles ("student" "intern") without actual access might work though.
  19. I'm all for these proposed changes, science has been a bit stale for me for a while a good shake up would be great. As for the shape of the "mega-room", a couple of Bay fork servers I've seen had a sort of mini-lobby in the middle that people could walk into, a little 3x3 (or was it 3x5?) space sort of like the one medbay has but the other sort of rectangle, something like that could help with visibility/access instead of having a weirdo side entrance. Just to be nitpicky though, the OPness science gets labelled with is most centred on certain play styles, they're not that destructive per se but they're not exactly balanced either. You know who I mean, the RDs with an armoury in their backpacks, the researchers carrying out a couple of r-syringe guns packed with death chems "just in case", the people who somehow always end up with bag + belt of holding, full set of tools + combat gloves + hardsuit +... etc, they "get in the way". There's nothing wrong with being prepared but what seems to annoy people and sometimes even the admins, is that it's just a bit too easy for scientists to get that powerful.
  20. I don't quite understand fully what it is exactly, but it was shot down because the admins thought it'd be OP/never used. Here's the PR for reference https://github.com/ParadiseSS13/Paradise/pull/1054 Nobody ever does atmos properly though, hence the version we have is doomed to apocrypha.
  21. Just a name indeed, it just doesn't measure up what the other species get is all, some alternates would be nice but I guess we're stuck with what we've got.
  22. "Vulpkanin" just isn't special. Every other race (humans slimes and greys aside of course) have a unique designation, Vulpkanin? that's just a faux latiny rip off, it's the discount Dan option, kills muh immursion.
  23. Looks great. I only have one idea though, every time SolGov gets mentioned in game, people complain that they're Nazis. It'd be kinda funny if they were actually Nazis, Galactic empire style Nazis ala Darth Vader. Maybe throw in a supreme leader? Making NT the "lesser evil" just seems to be the right thing.
  24. Naturally, a chainsaw is about as in-your-face as it gets most likely. A minority of not-so-destructive items (not on a mass scale anyway, but with ample use all the same) like the detomatix/emag (actually those might be the only ones that aren't job specific) are clearly labelled regardless. As said above, it's more a matter of consistency as items of arguably greater power (THE POWER OF ZEUS specifically:p) are utterly unidentifiable unless used, or closely inspected in the syndie radio key's case. You can tell it's an explosive PDA cartridge from the other side of the room, but not if that's an e-dagger? Odd is all.
  25. But muh green alert detective random searches Really though it's more a matter of consistency, the pickpocket gloves power gloves explosive jani-signs the aforementioned e-dagger and a whole bunch of other "not immediately dangerous shit" stuff is already subtly named, usually with some sort of give away in the description though which is great fun.
