IPC's should be able to have more self repair options.
MarsMond replied to Tykenn's topic in Suggestions
Currently, a problem with the self repairing on a table is that the IPC needs to lay down, which unless you have nodrop items, makes you drop the items from your hands. Unless there is a way to let them still do that, without them getting a general nodrop and without much snowflaking, this can't really be added. -

You don't get to count up if you doublepost, back to zero and do it correct this time. -
One problem I'm seeing is that while you can look like someone, you currently can't edit the name you are talking with/be seen as, as well as probably unable to chance your prints and blood. That's the reason you have 3 options to copy, SE for powers, UI for exterior, UI+UE for complete copying the person with name and exterior, powers not changing.

That should be getting fixed with this PR.

Too bad that you only get one seven, and not the jackpot, zero payout. -

Name: Creshmi Harara Age: 24 Gender: Female Race: Tajaran Blood Type: B- General Occupational Role(s): Head of Personnel, Captain, NT Rep, Botany, Magistrate. Biography: Born and grown up on a family farm on Ahdomai. As one of the older of the kids, she had to help to look after and supervise the others. She didn't have much of a free time between helping with the crops, attending to the other kids, education, and fixing and making diverse items made out of cloth. Such items are clothing, hammocks to sleep in, and the tapestry that's keeping the warmth inside the building. She came to NT as she did go to a school that was funded and supported by the corporation, and is switching between working on the station, where she lives in a cheap apartment nearby, and helping out on the farm. While commuting between the places, she does read up on the diverse rules and regulations that are in place on the station. The life she's living is a normal one for a traditional Tajaran that does not like what the Overseers did. Her lifestyle is also partly the reason why she does dislike cloning and genetic manipulation on humanoids, as it's unnatural. Qualifications: Botany Spacelaw Command Employment Records: Good knowledge in hydroponics as they did grew up on a farm with hydroponics equipment, adequat performance in command jobs with good consideration. Self-teached spacelaw, sufficient for on-station judging. Security Records: Medical Records: Psychological aversion against cloning and genetic manipulations on humanoids. Does not take cloning lightly. Keep the patient clear of bodies that look like them, if they do see one, treat them with haloperidol to calm them down. Their eyes have the Tajaran colorshift, medical devices on the station will classify it as colorblindness. It's a rather unspoken rule that one post/person that's doing the post can only raise the count by one at once. So one post raising the count by more than one, or multiple posts done by one person after another raising the count, without any other person raising (or lowering, i guess) the count, does not count. It's either just the one allowed raise, or a full reset, in this case, it might as well be the full reset, not that it would matter much if it was counted as one. -
Well, to quote spacelaws contraband law, and expansion on it: So, in short, you can either turn in the contraband, or stash it somewhere, and try to get it sanctioned, such staying within the law with the gateway contraband. You can't really make a blanket "gateway stuff is not contraband", as you could always claim you got items in the gateway. "Where did you find the stenchkin?" "Gateway" "What about the flashlight that seems to emit localized EMPs?" "Gateway" "And this murderous orange chainsaw?" "Gateway" About Doukans example, an unloaded stenchkin and a syndicate soft suit would not be enough for perma, as there was only one weapon level contraband item, the soft suit is not contraband. The hardsuit is contraband, even syndicate level, but the soft suit is just a soft suit.

Add an ether / anasthetic injector to medical borgs
MarsMond replied to Landerlow's topic in Suggestions
Well, what if you don't have an emagged, but still subverted borg? Also, doesn't make much sense that an emag that's designed to remove safeties suddenly activate a safety on a dispenser. -

If you do have a good ammount of damage (pain), you walk/run slower. -

I'm calling slander on this, at least. If we check lore, the Vulpkanins do have a "homeworld", though that one is currently un-inhabitable, caused by a stellar disaster. The core population still lives in the system, but on a number of other planets within. So while they might not have a classic homeworld, they have homeworlds in their home system. Also, how does this fit with spreading into other systems, if they would only keep to themselves? -

Nah, the battle is over. -
You could get ion carbines from RnD, to ion their headset when you tase them. Can't cult mindspeak while stunned/cuffed, can't radio if the radio is busted. And even that can be cheesed if the cultist do coordinate and take time, you need a good bit to convert, if a person doing field work is not calling in for some time, teleport them to check on them, maybe give a reminder before, so they can just say something, if they are somewhat busy with a victim. About holy water and vampires, at least when they die from it, you can argue that it is manslaughter/murder, depending whether it was known that they are a vampire or not. You need to have the vampire in processing, cuffed, so seems containable, shouldn't be a direct threat, so you can't kill them directly. If it's known that they are a vampire, and get fed holy water, that's kinda attempted murder, if they survive. But yeah, some incentive to not apply even safe ammounts of holy water to a person without good evidence that the person could be a vampire would be nice. But, well, the problem would kinda be the small ammount of holy water, a big ammount would net a exceptional crime charge, if it was applied "correctly", so any kind of overdose of holy water doesn't really help there. If it's a bit of toxin/brain damage, add manitol/charcoal to the test, and you can argue it's harmless, and finding vampires.

Zero of them got captured, as security was busy harmbatoning the clown. -
Well, i figure the belt could get some description that it uses the energy from an EMP to power some small bots to repair the IPC, so the belt does have an emp_act() that calls rejuvenate onto the IPC after a short time. Hacky workaround i guess. About the general idea, i did actually make a PR about it, i'll quote why the framework for species specific was turned down: While more depth for species sure is nice, how can it get reached with a nice implementation? Smaller things, like the veils Tajarans did get, are easily added, but don't have much impact unless you RP around it. More mechanical things, like the colorblindness, do get controversial quite quickly. What might be a better idea is to give every cloneable, and with that, any species that can be turned into as changeling, such an ability, that the changeling can buy in pack as "racial ability". While being a Tajaran, the changeling would be able to extend and retract sharp claws, cheaper, more covert, but bit weaker than the armblade, while being a Unathi, they could get a tail sweep, or something like that. Would make people not getting locked out of tools directly, because they usually don't play/have that race, but it sure does still leave the racial balance issue.

Kinda lacking information how well you did become your character. Do you just wake up in the other body, or do you also get their extended knowledge and/or capabilities? For example, if your character is a surgeon, and is expected to operate, do you even know how to do the steps for a heart surgery? And would you get the stomach to do so, as just because you know how to do something, doesn't mean you are capable of doing so. What i would do long term, so basically the decision whether to get cloned or wake up on "normal" earth again would depend on which of my character i would wake up as, and the knowledge and capabilities i would have. Short term, would try not to act suspicious too much, who knows what bluespace phenomenon did cause this, and who would want to research that with uncomfortable means. Otherwise, trying out the body, would probably wake up as a catbeast, retractable claws, tail, turnable ears, different senses overall, two new languages with gal common and Siik'tajr, would be quite interesting. Also, would admin powers be transferred?

Well, manually mixed holy water does use mercury in the recipe, so it should probably toxic. But on the other hand, holy water created by the chaplain is water smacked with a book, doesn't make much sense if that is toxic.

Technically, you could have gone with it, as the count did go up, 2<2.000000000001, though i guess that doesn't matter anymore anyway. -
I guess coders were faster on this than someone suggesting it. Though the piano synthesizer might be rather an instrument you hold in your hand, rather than an easily transported stationary instrument.

Make certain food items work with trash bags and decompilers
MarsMond replied to Landerlow's topic in Suggestions
Glasses shouldn't really be thrown away, as you normally just wash them and reuse them. Otherwise, i think the problem for the rest of the items is that they always are reagent holders. That makes it harder to decide whether they are trash or not, as the only difference would be if they have contents. Though i think as cans can be recycled, because they get crushed first, maybe that can get used for the rest. -
All hail the king. In serious, i think it would need quite a bit of work. It was possible to make gas grenades, but given how the code worked, you were able to fill even a big room with high pressure gas through a single small grenade. As you can figure, that wasn't good, and buggy/unintended behaviour, and was disabled for that reason, rather than changed, which i think would include a heavy refactor to fix that.

Needs a bit of plasma material wise, at least last i checked, so wait for mining to bring in their first haul, or scavenge plasma around the station for it.

Might be worth noting that science can make them in the protolathe, and maybe worth considering adding magboots to be orderable by cargo.
