Lifeweb for all its flaws apparently has some really cool stuff. Wish I had access to toy around with their features.
-
Don't reply if you aren't going to expand upon your thoughts one way or another. @nickcrazy its an idea I've toyed with a lot, but ultimately I think doesn't add to the game... even how much I enjoy playing Tot with a fiber wire, sneaking up in someones blindspot would just be amazing.... I don't feel that it would ultimately add to peoples enjoyment of the game.
-
Nice one thanks. I was sure it was a feature, I just couldn't easily spot it.

Deus vult! Yes, I love this game. I play it a lot, especially when I'm on daughter duty. Did multiplayer once with one other person... was /ok/

@Regen Unless I've missed it, I can't find a way to preview my topic/reply.

Maybe it's time we think about removing secborgs
Purpose2 replied to Love-To-Hug's topic in Suggestions
Suggested nerf: remove their ability to cuff multiple people simultaneously. One flash bang, and a borg could in theory cuff people in all 8 spaces around him simultaneously. -
And we're up on Github: https://github.com/ParadiseSS13/Paradise/pull/7059

The problem there is now you have meta-knowledge of the situation, what they can do, what they can't... the tell-tale signs... you've probably even been one yourself before. Not an easy thing to fix, that... but I know exactly what you mean.

@Sothangel So I'm gonna add Null Rod to that list now.... and maybe void suits and can you think of a legitimate reason it is keeping all 'suits'?.... I can't....

// These items are preserved when the process() despawn proc occurs. var/list/preserve_items = list( /obj/item/weapon/hand_tele, /obj/item/weapon/card/id/captains_spare, /obj/item/device/aicard, /obj/item/device/mmi, /obj/item/device/paicard, /obj/item/weapon/gun, /obj/item/weapon/pinpointer, /obj/item/clothing/suit, /obj/item/clothing/shoes/magboots, /obj/item/areaeditor/blueprints, /obj/item/clothing/head/helmet/space, /obj/item/weapon/storage/internal, /obj/item/device/spacepod_key ) Looks like it could be spaghetti... because thats the 'list'... but I'm sure its more than that.

Wheres the section about hunting antagonists with your cane? -------- Good guide! I'd like to add 'proofread your faxes' - evidenced by your typo of Formats.

I don't like the idea of mixing the OOC mentor system and this as a 'sort-of-but-not-really' IC mentor system.
-
I'm not against that, but it might be harder to get approval on that one.

I know what you're saying, but ultimately spending karma on something that does practically nothing too different from an existing role is a bit different from a role that is different to any existing role. An IAA with ultimate power? Never happened before. How else would you gate this role? Do we use this as a 'use case' for when Kyep's Department tracking PR goes in? How many hours would you say is required for this role? This is my problem with it, because at the moment, you only need to play 10 hours to play CE or CMO. So why should 'senior' role be higher. Frankly I'd want to put it on more like 50 hours.... Having it karma gated at least requires someone to make a conscious effort, and spend their precious points to get.

Antags /do/ have it rough.

Permanent Prisoner Job and Perma brig upgrades
Purpose2 replied to bigfatbananacyclops's topic in Suggestions
Last shift forgot to evac them? -
Whitelist idea is going to get rejected. Playtime tracking is hated by Fox, but may still get merged. I still stick by thinking Karma may be the best route for this.

The idea: Allow the HoP to bold certain job titles for late joiners, to encourage them to pick that job over another. The details: Simple addition to the job slot page of the HoP console. All it does is bold the job you want to encourage people to join with. IC reasoning is the HoP is telling Centcomm to prioritise which roles you could really do with hiring/transfering aboard Use cases: A need for a trial. Bolding Magistrate... Magistrate players would love to be given something to actually do, and in half of the round types (blob/nukies etc) they are entirely superfluous Chief engineer let the engine loose? Got fired? Half of the Engineering team are cultists? Syndie macro bombs all over the show? Bold Engineer. Security Officer. Oh god, we need more officers. *sounds of toolboxes in the distance* FAQs Doesn't this effectively enable meta comms in what is needed? Yes, but realistically NT would/should be able to prioritise hiring, so I don't think thats a bad thing at all. Won't a HoP open a hundred clown slots and bold clown? And unless they get hijack, that is a bannable offense... and if they are hijackers... overloading the station with clowns is a valid tactic... CLOWN We never have any job slots anyway, whats the point? For half the day, we aren't at high pop, and there are indeed multiple job slots open. Also, there are umpteen job slot PR's in the works or already on github. ------------ Thoughts?

The idea: System to put random items on sale, or enable certain 'bundle deals' on the Syndicate Traitor Uplink. Details: A carefully constructed list, designed to increase use of less frequently used tot gear Randomised, with specific deal frequency. Bundle deals are a good possibility also Buy tot shoes and syndie encryption key for 2 TC! (Effectively BOGOF) A deal that might only show up if you have hijack: Power beacon and syndie macro bomb for 20tc. (normally 26) Fiber wire 20% off. This would help promote the use of gear that doesn't often get used. Provides a bit more interest in not using the same old gear, and giving you something to think about. FAQ Isn't this a buff to Traitors? Certainly. Also helps add more interestingness to the round. Doesn't TG do something very similar? Apparently, I was only just told. We could review their system, and implement the bits we like, rather than a straight port. 3 TC emag when? Super commonly bought items could/should be exempt. ----------------------- Thoughts?
-
Like Left4Deads Director code.... I love the idea but the implementation... fuck knows how that'll work... guess you'd track blood... dead people, dead sec... maybe even damage sustained... tiles breached into space.... the system tracking this would be super intensive.

The idea: Add two roles one each to Engineering and Medical called "Senior Engineer" and "Senior Consultant". EDIT: And from popular demand, "Senior Officer" The details: Functionally identical to a regular Doctor, Engineer or Officer. Heavily encouraged to take on interns from the Civilian pool A type of IC mentor, available to help members of the department Available to step in if the heads of staff are otherwise incapacitated In no way command of anything, and neither are they the defacto Acting, but are encouraged to use them Currently Karma locked Could implement the playtime limit instead / as well - if @tzo's Department tracker gets merged. FAQ: Why Karma locked? This ensures that this role only goes to those with experience in the department and the understanding and willingness to train, coach and take on Junior members into the department, 'interns'. They are for all intents and purposes just a regular member of the department, someone paying the karma for what is effectively and 'alt title' - they are dedicated members of that department. Will this detract from the number of slots in the department? Nope, quite the opposite. These roles would be 'added on top' - and on top of that, they are encouraged to get the HoP to assign Civilians/Assistants for them to manage and train. Engineering Intern/Trainee titles allows the crew to know as well that they aren't necessarily to expect 'supermen', or super competence. Is this not going to encourage snobbery? These roles are ones that is designed to help and aid others - even hiring newbies from the Civ pool - if the situation allows it. As such they will be held to a higher standard. Shouldn't mentors get these roles for free? No. Lets not blur the lines between OOC mentoring and IC mentoring. --------------- cc @Sothangel @PurpleGenie @Rumiluntti Thoughts?
