This seems more in place with HIPPIE than Paradise. As said before, having these gimmicky ERTs is not what people expect when an ERT is called. ERTs are serious matters that are called in during times of distress. And even moreso, it wouldn't really be balanced if you had a chance to get a super human who can kill people in a single punch regardless of their armor. ERTs are rarely supported anyways, because admins don't want players to get dependent on them to solve all their problems. This would just make it more annoying for admins to have to deal with the constant ERT requests for the silliest reasons just because people want a chance to see One Punch Man.

I don't have much of a problem with secborgs myself.. Although I do hate how they tend to be one of the more picked jobs, along with engineering borgs. It seems to be the most popular choices, with medical borgs being the second most popular, and janitor and entertainment borgs being the least popular.. Hell, how often do you even SEE entertainment borgs? If only they had more features, maybe more people would play those. Even the janitor borg, as unpopular as it is, can do a lot despite not having arms, which makes it more common compared to the least used borg on the station... If secborgs were removed or heavily nerfed, all that would happen is the number of engineer and medic borgs would rise. I'd rather find a way to make it so players wouldn't just lean towards the funnest borg job (or when a malf round happens, the most tactical choice). Again, I'm not too bothered, and in some cases, thankful to have security borgs when security is running short on staff. They could use a little tinkering maybe, but then again, ALL the borgs could use some tinkering to kinda change the status quo and give the lesser picked borgs more reason to exist.

On CM, breaches are a lot more dangerous. I assume this is the ZAS a lot of people speak of. It is a shame that it causes a fair bit of lag, though.. I do agree that the current one is only really dangerous with big breaches, otherwise it isn't too problematic for engineers to fix and atmos to fix. Maybe one day someone will tinker up something that takes the best of both codes to make something that is a little more like ZAS, but with a bit less lag, you know?

As long as the RP objectives aren't too harmful to people around the person in question, I myself think it would be a decent little idea to give a non-antag something to work towards to spice up a shift. Science already sorta has a form of objective for its staff to tackle, so maybe allowing more people the choice of getting an objective of sorts to aim for to challenge them would make things more interesting for everyone, even if it is as mundane as speaking with a British accent. I'd take on that challenge no problem.

Whenever I get traitor, I don't really bother rushing it. There is normally 2 hours in a shift, so you have plenty of time to do your objectives. That does't mean to ignore an easy opportunity if you can get it.. Although depending on the objective, you might want to hold back your urges even if you have an easy chance, because causing panic too early in a round is going to make your life hard. I aim to be subtle and sneaky, acting loyal and trustworthy to pull people into a false sense of security. Depending on your role, earning trust from people is incredibly important. I had many rounds as HoP where I did my best to ensure the captain didn't suspect me of being a backstabber, and even managed to greentext a few times without them ever even realizing it was me all along.. Although, being a HoP, I just make the AI do the dirty work for me so I can focus on my paperwork.. Which is another thing you have to consider: DO YOU JOB. Just because you are a traitor janitor, you don't get to go traitoring it up.. You got messes to clean after all. Remember, sometimes the best traitor is a subtle one. If you go about doing your normal job in between agent actions, you'll be able to keep people off your back. Depending on your job, however, it can be harder than others. Traitor HoP, for instance, is one of the harder jobs for me because I don't like leaving my office for extended amounts of time due to the fear of people suspecting me for being an agent.. After all, why else would the office be closed for a long period of time other than the HoP being SSD? Again, depending on your job, if you have a murder objective, you should try to figure out a way to indirectly kill them rather than directly. A chef and barkeep can poison their food and drink, for instance, command staff with access to the upload can make the AI kill their target for them while they work, and if you have a pizza delivery, you could always swap out one of the pizzas with a pizzabomb and hope the right person opens the box. Get creative, and hope for the best. Most importantly.. Don't focus too much on greentexting. My motto is: if you can't ace it, just get out alive. As long as you complete at least one objective, you at least did something, so it isn't a total failure. Better to get 50% and get away alive than to get 100%... Only to be put to death before the shuttle arrives to pick you up. It can be quite temping though, and if you think you can do it, give it your best shot.. And expect things to go horribly wrong, since sometimes things just happen, you know?

This is something I can agree with to a degree. Yes, it is annoying when you take a certain job, only for a clown to barge in and suddenly start doing your job for you. As a moderate RP server, it is expected that there would be a slightly higher RP standard while still allowing some freedom to take it easy. But when I go engineer, I expect people to be asking me to help build them things, rather than them just grabbing some tools and suddenly becoming experts in construction and modeling. It is understandable for agents, yes, but non-antag assistants being able to pull off incredible feats despite their position? A little excessive, I believe. On the other hand, there are a lot of IC reasons why you can get away with certain things that you normally don't expect them to do. Medical patches, for instance, are like super bandaids.. You just apply and BANG, you done.. Don't really need much training to use a patch. Tables are of the fold-up type, so assistants building tables is not totally unbelievable. And cooking and drink brewing? Well, I assume everyone knows how to cook IC, and there are probably lots of people IRL who can mix their own drinks with little issue. It is only a problem when you have people like mimes setting up the engine or gardeners doing surgery. Unless they have a good reason as to WHY they can do this, it is kinda bollocks and takes the job away from others who joined TO do that job..

I used to play it for the tank combat.. I didn't have fun after awhile, because I swear, finding the sweet spots on russian tanks is a pain in the ass.. I kinda just moved on after that. -
It is always nice when a bit of remodeling is done on the station. Spices up the rounds a bit, yeah? As engineer, I always do some remodeling of my own, although I never really take pictures of my finished work, sadly.

I usually do it because I'm bored tbh. Not even hoping to catch antags. I find a stroll through maint relaxing. It'd be weird if one green sec were the only people not allowed in maint though. My thoughts on the matter is to reduce Validhunting. While it is heavily frowned upon for other jobs to go patrolling maints when they should be doing their jobs, officers are given a licence to validhunt, since that is their job.. So of course they check every nook and canny while they are in there and aren't expected to be punished for it. However, on green, I expect officers to be focused on keeping the peace in the main halls. You aren't going to help much in maints, and going out of your way to fuck up a traitor you found prepping a disguise or sucking the life out of someone in one of the many rooms in there on green is a bit excessive.. Players should be rewarded for stealth and keeping the alert from going to blue too soon. Blue and higher is punishment for sloppy work as a traitor, after all.. Getting screwed over because someone found you with a megabomb in maints on green really blows.. That is why I figure it would make more sense to discourage green maint patrols, and only allow it on blue or higher.. But then again, that is just me.

Aw, I never thought of that.. The only downside with that though is that it costs more. Then again, in all my times as traitor, I never really used a gun yet. I always tried to kill indirectly and with stealth tools most of the time. I gotten so many kills with just a pizzabomb alone, target or not.. and I'll never forget the time I managed to kill the barkeep with a deadly pie as chef.. Good memories. Oh well, it was an attempt at making a more covert pistol at least.

Back in ye olden times, the IAA was known simply as a lawyer.. And was an RP job only. An assistant with a fancy suit.. Then I come to Paradise years later, and find the IAA, an advanced lawyer that can do so much more.. But still has room for improvement. It would be nice to give them the option of becoming parole officers in their spare time, so I am with adding this to their job description.

I imagine the pen simply showing up as "Pistol" when fired, so you won't be able to tell it is just a pen. If someone tries to report that you attacked them or have a firearm, you can let them search you in confidence and they won't have any proof that you fired a gun. Just play it cool... Or get a disguise, that is what I do. As for the Mind Hack Dart, you forget there are other Capital Crimes out there. Murder, for instance, can cause a person to be put into perma/death row regardless of who they work for. I should know, I had it happen to me while I was an agent and pretended I threw someone into space in a fit of rage with no intent to kill. They still put me in perma regardless. So if you know your space law, you can use it to set someone up. I assume 20 seconds (not in Byond time, of course) would be enough to not be overpowered but still enough to get a person in serious trouble. Bonus points if you get lots of witnesses to see it.

That kinda sounds like bossing around the AI, though. Again, the point of these laws is to make it fun for them, not make them a slave. I don't "Give orders" to AI, I upload a mission to the AI, and then check up on it once in awhile. This makes them feel more free and makes it fun for both parties involved.

Guaranteed to work one out of every hundred tries on the extremely off chance someone doesn't insta-strip you. Not worth the TC. Unless it could be used while moving too. To be honest, if security saw you trying to unlock, they'd stun you down anyways. It is best used when you aren't being watched.

I'm a fan of covert ops, if people didn't know. I like using items that I can hold in plain sight and not be questioned, and clever traps that cause panic and confusion. As of now, there is a moderate selection, some of them pretty damn good.. But I wouldn't mind more options to mess with the meta a bit and make people even more paranoid. You know, install fear back into our shifts. So I thought up some possible additions to the server in a neat little format for your opinion. Maybe if I am lucky, at least one of these will be a reality, but it is just a suggestion after all.. So I won't get my hopes up. Tool: Medkit bomb Appearance: A medkit, can change color via its settings to simulate other types of kits. Cost: 6 points Available to: Medbay staff Use: As we all know, the Pizza bomb is a hilarious toy to play with, capable of causing all kinds of chaos if you set it up JUST right.. However, in other cases, some people are harder to fool, and even if they did trust it, it doesn't mean they are going to open it. This makes it more of a plaything than a real assassin's tool.. Will the medkit bomb change that? Possibly. Unlike pizza, people go crazy for medkits. In a station where you are bound to get hurt in one way or another, having a medkit on hand is very useful to save yourself a trip to medbay, more so in emergencies. This tool exploits that thought process by tricking people into thinking it is just another medkit, when in reality it is a bomb ready to gib anyone foolish enough to reach inside it. While it has a much higher chance of tricking someone, the downside is it doesn't have as large an AOE of the pizzabomb, being only more than half the blastsize. It still has a lot of power to it, though, and an adjustable timer that ranges from 1-15, for when you prefer to leave a distraction for security rather than kill someone. To set it up, all you have to do is hold it and click on it with a free hand, adjust the timer and select a color, and then you are set. What you do with it is up to you. Possible exposure: While adjusting, you can change the color of the medkit to be that of any other type of medkit normally found on the station. However, it will be pretty easy to notice a medkit magically changing colors in front of everyone. This is the only way to really discover it's true design, however, because one it is set, there is no way to tell other than reaching inside it and hoping it doesn't go boom. _____________________ Tool: Mini pistol Appearance: A blue tipped pen Cost: 8 points Available to: Everyone Use: There is a small selection of guns that agents can use, all of them bound to be taken from you the moment they discover you don't have a weapon's permit to hold them. A guy needs something to protect himself from rival agents and other threats, right? This is where the mini pistol comes in. The mini pistol takes the form of a pen, and thus can fit in a PDA for safe keeping. It isn't very good for writing, though, since the tip of the pen is really one of 3 bullets loaded inside. Each of these bullets does a decent 40 brute damage to an unarmored target, making it a great way to scare off a pesky gray tider. To use it, all you have to do it take it in hand and click upon it, activating it's gun mode. In this mode, it behaves just like a gun, where you aim and shoot like normal. Clicking it again in your hand brings it back to normal, allowing you to safely store it for later use. However, you only get 3 shots, so you have to make them really count. Afterwards, the pistol becomes a dull old pen again, losing all it's old interactions. Possible exposure: If it has ammo inside, you can expose it's true use by clicking on it in your hand, turning on it's gun mode. However, if it is empty, nothing will happen. This means the best tactic with the pen is to make use of all three shots when you do use it, rather than just using only one or two. After all, the person being shot at won't be able to know where the bullets are coming from, so you could bullshit your way out of jail if security tries to search you for a firearm. _____________ Tool: Laser goggles Appearance: Science goggles Cost: 15 points Available to: Science staff Use: All the power of a laser rifle in the palm of you hand.. That you can wear on your face. To the naked eye, they look like standard issue goggles given to science members for their R&D use. But in reality, it is the ultimate X-men cosplay item, allowing your inner Cyclops to be unleashed upon anyone who DARES to get in your way. In other words, it is a laser gun in goggle form. Has the same damage, ammo, and can be recharged in a charger (provided no one is looking) What sets it apart from most weapons and explains its cost, however, is due to how it works. By default, it is set to off, being just normal goggles. But once turned on, anywhere you click while having the goggles on your face lets you shoot out a deadly beam of death. Doesn't sound all that neat until you realize you can combine it with other weapons as well, such as ANOTHER laser gun, or a shotgun, or even just a bikehorn. Whatever item you have in your active hand can be used alongside the laser, doubling up the punishment.. As long as it is on and charged. Just be careful when treating your wounds, though.. You can easily shoot yourself with your own goggles, making it just as dangerous as it is useful. Possible exposure: Due to its design, you have to always remember to turn it off while not being used, because nothing is more embarrassing than shooting off a laser in public while trying to grab a drink from a vending machine or playing the slots... Or even putting a bandaid on yourself.. That would really suck. Otherwise, in the hands of a smart player, it makes for a great hands free blaster, until people other than you wear it and try to examine something with it. Don't let them do that. ______________ Tool: Mind Hack Dart Appearance: A red tipped pen, alongside a basic PDA Cost 16 Available to: Everyone Use: So, there is this guy you hate. You really hate him.. You wish there was a way to get rid of him somehow.. But you can't just go and murder him, no.. That would be too messy.. Maybe you could frame him instead? Yeah, maybe do it in such a way that security has to put him away forever.. Maybe even deathrow.. But how can you possibly frame him for a crime serious enough to get security's attention? With a nifty mind control dart, of course. While costly and very risky to use in plain sight, in the hands of a clever framer you can ruin someone's day with the press of a button. Only problem is getting the implant needed to control your target in him in the first place. Have no fear, though, this is where the pen comes in. The pen comes bundled with the PDA, which when clicked on causes your avatar to take the pen up to their mouth (which everyone can see you do, so don't do it in plain sight), ready to blow into it. For this isn't so much a pen as a dart gun with a weak mind control implant inside. Once readied, you just take aim at your target of choice, and blow... Hoping it hits. If you aim it just right [and your target isn't an IPC], you'll nail em and have them ready to control. After that, it is a simple matter of whipping out your "PDA" and activating it in a secluded spot. From your location, you take full control of your target and see what they see for a brief 20 seconds, and ONLY 20 seconds.. When time runs out, the implant dies, and you can't control them again for the rest of the shift.. Meaning you have to really make it count. This makes it a very huge risk VS reward tool, but if you manage to pull it off just right, you can get someone jailed for a crime he had no intent to commit, and cause all sorts of confusion in the process. Possible exposure: People will see you move the pen to your mouth if you do it in public, and blowing into it will also get some attention. If you fuck up and miss, the implant will lay on the ground for everyone to see, which will not only waste your TC but also risk exposing your plans as well. Your target won't notice if he gets hit, though.. So try to do it in a way that prevents him to seeing who shot him before doing any antics. Once used up, the PDA and pen return to normal, meaning they can't use it to arrest you afterwards. _____________ And lastly, a little something crazy and violent. Tool: Gas Attack Pill Appearance: A little green pill, although you won't be holding onto it for long. Cost: 12 points Available to: Assistants, Clown, Medbay Staff Use: Fart jokes are funny. People like farting in people's faces when given a chance. Some people even gain super farts which throw people all over the place when performed. Maybe it's time to start fearing the fart. This little pill is made to be ingested the moment you buy it. Once eaten, you gain a new superpower that can only be earned from the blackmarket: The gas attack. It has a 200 second cooldown, but once she is charged up, triggering it causes your avatar to emote the same way one would if they were doing a superfart.. But instead of blowing everyone away, you unleash several highly toxic clouds of nasty, which will cause people who take just a single huff to fall over as well as take continuous toxins damage as long as they stay within the cloud of death. No one will see it comin, and if you are in a tight space, no one is going to get away from it. Only downside is every time you use it, you take 30 brute damage due to the nature of your genetic upgrade, and if you are not wearing internals, you'll end up killing yourself with your own fart. Unless you are supposed to die gloriously, bring internals before using. Possible exposure: The moment you use this power, people will know you are not one of them. Plan your usage wisely, and exploit tight spaces to really get the most out of it and ensure no witnesses. Also, try not to take a visit to medbay, because medical scanners will notice "genetic damage" on your avatar. It'll be hard to explain why someone who seems perfectly fine and isn't a clone has genetic damage. ________________ And... That is about it. Maybe one day these might be reality.. But for now, they are just a dream. Would you like any of these to be real, and if not, why?

For some reason, this makes me feel bad... Yes, the powergaming needs to be dealt with, but other than that.. I feel ok with being able to do my job and not have some crazy ass shit happen to me. I been on Hippie for a day once... It was way too much for me, and I didn't like that shifts only lasted an hour.. That, and I barely got to do anything. You spent more time just trying to survive than doing your job, and what fun are jobs like science or engineering if you don't have enough time to do anything? Some jobs take a great deal of time to do, and in the case of some jobs, it is good to have a more peaceful moment so you can make something of it. There is a reason WHY when I get picked for clown or chaplain that I work on doing events for the crew, because I make use of the time I have to set everything up till it is just perfect.. hell, as an antag, I often try to avoid doing antag things until an hour later at most, because I don't want to rush off and do bad things right away.. After all, there is no rush.. You don't need to do your objective ASAP, take your time, relax, and do your job until people can trust you.. And then stab them in the back. Am I part of the problem? Am I so unrobust that I just end up being a "carebear" who likes to RP more than toolbox people? Am I on the wrong server? -
I always wanted to do this for awhile, but never really had time to until now.. So I figure, after having subverted the AI a few times, to share some advice on how YOU could be a better subverter, and also make it more interesting for the Ai as well in the process. As we all know, most people who subvert the AI tend to be really boring about it.. "Do not state this law, listen only to X", or something like that. Such a law is not only boring and unfun for an AI to deal with, but also could result in you getting in deep shit if someone manages to card the AI when it least expects, exposing you as a traitor. When I subvert the AI, I prefer not to resort to the tired and bland laws most people make, but instead write up a more.. Clever law, one that not only keeps my identity hidden, but also makes things a little more interesting for the AI.. But first, you have to consider how you are going to do it in the first place... What job do you have? 1: If you are a head role with access to the upload, such as a HoP, you can easily mess with the AI as long as no one is watching the upload door and it isn't locked. The key to success is to do it as subtly as possible. If anyone sees any evidence of tampering, the captain might wipe all your work away, and you don't want your law to get removed. Move quickly, and hope the captain is the kind of guy who spends more time roaming than sat in the bridge. 2: If you can't access the upload, you could always make your own. If your job allows it and the door isn't locked, you can snag a AI upload board from engineering's tech storage. Then it is a matter of finding a computer to use, or if you are really desperate, you could just make one on the spot.. Although this is much more dangerous, because if anyone discovered the board is missing, the crew will not only wipe the law, but also be on the lookout for someone with the board. If you do it right, you could reupload your law after the wipe, but on the other hand, it might be better to just return the board as soon as possible before anyone notices it is gone in the first place. 3: if you have no access to uploads whatsoever, well... Yeah, good luck, your law is going to get wiped the moment there is any sign of breaking and entering. You can't really steal an upload board from the tech storage because it'll be pretty obvious it was stolen.. And attempting to return it might be harder without the access than with it. And breaking into the upload itself would require a LOT of help. That isn't to say it is impossible, and with enough effort you COULD achieve it.. Just don't get your hopes up. After considering the situation, it is now time to make your law. I'm not sure if you could get away with a freeform mod, but this guide mainly focuses on the Hacked mod, which allows you to add a zero law to the AI. However, what kind of law will you give it? First off, what are your objectives? Chances are, you have to kill someone, so of course making a law to have a certain person killed for you while you sit back and relax is rather nice. Need to steal something? A little harder, but still possible depending on the object. Having the borgs hand it right over to you is a lot easier than trying to break in and steal the item in question in the first place. Need to keep someone alive? Well, that speaks for itself. But of course, just telling the AI to kill someone is blah.. Lets spice it up a bit, shall we? "But Reno," you ask, "Why bother when getting straight to the point is faster and easier?" Well, because giving the Ai a fun sounding objective makes it more entertaining for the player being forced to do the dirty work for you, and give them some IC incentive to do what they are doing, other than just because they are told to. For instance, maybe the reason you want a certain person dead is because they are an escaped death row prisoner on the run, or maybe a spy who knows too much about the station's secrets... Or maybe he just owes somebody 5 bucks and he refuses to pay, so it's time to fuck him up.. Get creative, for the AI player's sake. You given the AI incentive to do your work for you, but you can't just stop there can call it a day. You still have to make sure the AI doesn't rat you out or blurt to everyone that it has been messed with. Just tell the Ai that the mission is top secret and only to be discussed with people who know a "codeword" and to avoid exposing its intent and you should be fine. Keep in mind that even if the AI doesn't tell the crew what is going on, the crew might still suspect a hacked AI, so ensure that the AI continues to communicate with the crew regularly and keep them calm.. After all, the borgs are expected to do most of the work anywho, it is the AI's job to keep the borgs in line and focused in your favor. If you want to communicate with the AI, that is where the codeword comes in. Most people, as I said before, just tell the AI to obey them and only them, which is quite inflexible, and also puts the user at risk should someone sneak in and card the AI when it least expects (although it is rare). A codeword, on the other hand, not only is more covert, but also kinda fun, because it makes the AI feel more like an agent than a slave. Just pick something silly, and then upon messaging the AI, state the codeword. 9 times out of 10 the AI will now begin keeping you up to date on how it is doing. The other 1 will probably try very hard to fuck you over depending on how you worded the law, however, so be careful. "But Reno, if people find out about the codeword, won't they use it to find out who hacked the AI?" That is a very good question, really. On the one hand, it depends on the staff. If they are smart, they probably would try to use the codeword to get in touch with the AI and figure out what is going on, and maybe who else it could be working with. On the other hand, though, they might just wipe it before doing anything. It is a very possible flaw in this tactic, but again, it all depends on the staff. There are 2 ways to get around it SHOULD the code be found out.. 1: make a NEW PDA and ID to talk to the AI with, keeping your identity completely secret and making it impossible to trace back to you.. However, you'd have to have access to the ID machine and a fresh PDA to pull this off.. 2: steal someone else's PDA and use that to talk to the AI. That way, if you get found out, they'll arrest the wrong guy in the process, allowing you to get away scot free. This is harder to pull off, and could end up getting you in trouble... Unless they really don't give a shit, that is. After all, how many people really care about their PDAs... right? So, you got your "mission" for the AI uploaded, you have a codeword all set for the AI and now it is subtly doing your dirty work for you while you do your normal job, the crew non the wiser. Not too shabby. Now it is just a matter of ensuring that the AI doesn't get caught doing your work for you, and crossing your fingers that it does the job cleanly. Most of the time I done this, it worked out quite well, and I even had some greentexts too at the end of agent shifts, all while doing my job, the captain totally trusting of me the whole way through. It can still fail though, but even if it does, at least the AI has some fun in the process. However, before I finish up, I might as well add a few dos and don'ts to keep in mind when making laws. DO: 1: Inform or imply that you want the AI to continue what it is doing while it works towards the objective, so that the crew doesn't suspect it of being hacked. After all, when an AI suddenly goes quiet for a long time and isn't listening to crew, people get jumpy.. And when people get jumpy, laws get wiped. 2: Talk to the AI in a private manner, such as in PDA or via hologram, or whatever other ways you can think of. It is a good idea to check up on it once in awhile to see how it is coming along. Sure, for safety reasons, you could just hack and forget if you really wanted, and just trust that the AI will do what you asked without exposing you if they find out the codeword, but I personally like to keep in touch, even if it means I could get caught. 3: Use an uncommon phrase as a codeword. Something like "tutu 1990" or "Sonic 06" are safe words that should prevent the AI from talking to others about your operation. :4 Be creative in making the law in the first place. Again, the AI is a player, not a bot, make it fun for them and it'll be more enjoyable for everyone involved. DON'T: 1: Use your name anywhere in a law. Remember, stealth is key. The codeword isn't perfect, but at least it doesn't point a finger at you right away, and depending on the situation, you could probably get away with it anyways. Again, there are holopads you can use to talk to the AI as well, and if you have a voice changer, you could probably use that to talk to the AI in secret so no one really knows. Heck, there are probably even MORE ways to do it as well. Be creative, and hide yourself the best you can. 2: Tell the Ai to obey only those who know the codeword. Again, you have to be covert here.. Nothing screams "I R HAX" like when the AI suddenly seems.. quiet. An AI that responds to command is an AI that won't get reset. 3: Use a shitty codeword like "Condom" or "Ian", or anything else that is commonly spoken over coms. Remember, you set it so it only discusses mission details with those who know the code.. Don't use a code that can easily be blurted out on common. 4: Let the AI get sloppy in its work. If you have to kill someone or steal something, you better make sure to inform the AI to do it in a way that doesn't blow its cover right away. A smart borg doesn't go harmbatoning its target in the middle of the bar, after all... Make sure your AI and comrades use their brains to complete their objective as covertly as possible. ____ And.. That is all I can think of right now. Hopefully we will see some improvement in subverted AI laws and make things more interesting for both the hacker and the hackie. And even if you completely disagree with me, well.. That is ok, because this is just how I tend to do it. It is my preferred way to subvert, and I always enjoyed the spytalk with the AI as a comrade rather than a slave. I hope you like this little guide.. Hopefully.

I honestly would love a few more improvised weapons to use, although you have to remember that improvised weapons are supposed to be shit compared to their normal versions. The IED is already like a molotov cocktail, though.. Just shittier.

You already can send a nuke op as a spy on the station. I did it myself, and we kicked ass. So there is no reason to give the ops a 6th player on their team. As for new tatortot objectives, I wouldn't mind some more.. Silly ones, like maybe smuggling a certain amount of drugs off station (like 50u of Space Drugs for instance), or an objective to cause a certain amount of property damage, encouraging the player to smash shit up, break some glass, push over some vending machines and generally be a vandal. That would be kinda fun and give bombs more use other than being playthings.

Keeping stealth items stealthy is a good way to prevent this form of powergaming. In fact, we could use even MORE stealth items to encourage stealth and intellectual covert ops, such as maybe a pistol pen or different types of stealth bombs (because I wouldn't be surprised if people caught on to pizzabombs by now).. That, and more ways to hide the true use of stealth items. I also wouldn't mind a change in SoP preventing officers from patrolling maints on green.. That has been an issue, and I normally try to reduce it as HoS, but there will still be people who insist on doing their patrol in maint on green, even if there is no reason to do so. It gives antags a private place to do things on green, so having officers running in there when there is no proper incentive to is kinda overkill.

A part of me wonders if maybe we could just merge this with the IAAs, to give them a double purpose? Adding a new job is always tricky, because you have to prepare a workspace for them, a new page in the SoP informing what they can and cannot do, how many can work the job, if it is karma locked or not, and if not, how long you have to wait to unlock it.. Something about it feels like it would be a fitting alternate task for the IAAs to work on in my opinion, since it would give them more to do on a slow shift. They already have an alternate title of Lawyer, so why not an alternate title of Parole Officer?

That sounds kinda backwards to me, issnt' the RD the one supposed to check on Science? Even as captain, when I ask the RD and CMO to check genetics in check, they never do, and you end up with genetics going overboard, as they always do. Even if the RD was loyalty implanted, it will only be useful for so long before you begin to wonder why you bother... Antag or not, he is gonna go goofin off. -

I myself am rather content with the way things are.. Mostly. Of course, there will always be problems that need looking into, such as powergaming or the simplification of things that make certain jobs feel less rewarding. My main problem, though, it more towards people's lack of patience.. If people haven't noticed, I tend to have a much higher level of tolerance of the mundane and quiet, and who is also able to tackle jobs that most people give up on moments upon starting the shift with some degree of effort. Hell, most people would be baffled at the idea of an atmos tech spending 2 HOURS doing nothing more but overwatch duty, watching monitors in his little control station and nothing more.. That is some patience right there. Whatever job I get, I always try to do something with it rather than complain about having nothing to do if I get an "RP focused" job or a low ranking job. Other people, however, seems to lack what I have.. You have people who take certain jobs like chaplain or librarian and just muck about, not even trying to do their job in the slightest. In other cases, you have people like the engineers, who complain that once the engine is finished there is nothing left to do, despite the fact that there are plenty of little projects you could do as an engineer, having been one myself a few times (such as remodeling and beautification of the station. You aren't given a load of building supplies for nothing). And lets not get started on the players who cryo if they don't get picked for antag, regardless of the job they have. I like being the bad guy as much as the next guy, but again, it is rewarded to those who wait, not those who bitch and moan until they get picked... Then proceed to murderbone everyone. Maybe I'm more of an RPer than a fighter (in fact, I am a pretty bad fighter..), but I really think people need to learn to appreciate the quiet moments a little more. After all, in the hands of a creative few, you could easily take those dull moments and turn them into fun moments. Remember the time the clown hosted a stand-up comedy show in the bar? I WAS that clown, and I had a great time taking advantage of a humble moment and turning it into a mini-event that brought everyone together and got more people involved and distracted, instead of them moping around because "there was nothing to do". Players need to realize there is more ways to spice up a round than utter chaos, yuh know? You just need a little creativity...
