  1. Would be also nice to add departmental/job objectives for jobs outside science. Like having medbay and other usually messed up departments clean as janitor. Or evading beating and brigging as clown(beyond impossible).
  2. Thanks to RISSA we have kittie-warden now .
  3. Why dont we add possibility for people to set their characters employment records not only security and medical one? HoP office would fit such a console much better then security laptop. We also could maybe implement skill system with points where people show how much their characters knows different fields of work. And that would not change the mechanics of the game. That would be just roleplay matter. Maybe part of employment records or some kind of new database HoP could access to search for people who would probably would like to fill in jobs needed right now in emergency. We should better make possibilities for roleplay to encorage it rather then force it on people. Forcing would never work just because there is lots of other servers.
  4. On Tau Ceti server(russian Baystation) its okay to do things outside of your job if there is just nobody to do them and thats mostly will improve the fun for everyone playing the round. However its not a greencard to be an instant expert in anything. Assistant could probably set up engine, but he would probably do it "by the book" of manual or/and with the help of AI unit. Paramedic could probably do emergency surgery without surgeons around, but will do it slower. And paramedic will NOT do plastic and other fancy surgery. Brain surgery would be replaced with doses of mannitol.
  5. New gear is really awesome. Could someone also code officers to spawn with badges in their bags? Because there could be no warden or he is just lazy bum. But still warden would have a box of spare badges.
  6. I think its not a good idea to make any of alt.titles of any job have lower or higher access. Alt.title should be just RP thing to allow player to better show they way they like to play their job. Existing titles are working fine with that. You already can "specialize" inside your current job RP wise. New "newbie" alt.titles are supposed to to improve this even further. You could not only show what you like to do in your job more but also the level of your experience. And honestly I also would like to see every type of scientist as stand-alone job, not alt.title because of that. They are just too different in their research to count as "one job".
  7. BUMP with Kyep Pull. Still not new job but some equipment for it. https://github.com/ParadiseSS13/Paradise/pull/4766
  8. Goons mining, surgery system, augments, mechanic with his Reverse Engineer capabilities - thats all very very cool. And security can fine and ticket people as well, which is fun. Also goons have programmed bots Guardbuddies.
  9. Have not played for long at it. But I like to play as AA truck in ground combat and as bomber in air combat. I also play with american crafts for some reason.(Russian who dont play on russian planes? Must be broken one!) Also SBD-5 Dauntless is fun to play as fighter plane with rear turret. While its actually a dive bomber. Further Helldiver and Avenger could be fun as well, but there is more real fighters who can shoot you down with ease.
  10. ^ This. But we should not actually force Roleplay as well. This would not end well. Better add more roleplay options for people who want to roleplay. People must be interested in roleplay themselves.
  11. Scrap throwing knives out of metal? Goons also have lot of !fun! improvised weapons, including blunderbuss using welding fuel instead of powder. And you can pour different amounts of it for various results. Diffrerent damage and chance to blow up in you hands when firing.
  12. I think that should depend from Code and amount of damage caused to station and its crew by malcompliance. If you do shit during Red code - security could just execute you on sight. During Blue code - security could detain and beat the crap out of you. But how to describe that perfectly?
  13. Put the bolts into secure briefcase, which require Nuke disk to unlock? And allow Captain to afix that briefcase to his arm using handcuffs.
  14. Allow to paint them into normal ID using HoP computer? Or place an ID sticker from vending machine on them.
  15. Well, add Parole Officer as subjob and buff IAA alltogether? Because for now they have very little use. Yes, they can fax CC, but the responce from Gods is rare and not immediate. Legal subdepartment should have some use independant from Gods.
  16. Making stealth gear more stealth would work. Sleepy pen could have two modes: Storage and Armed. In storage mode its just a pen when you examine it and you would probably could even write with it(but poking someone would do nothing). In armed mode small needle and small indicator will be revealed, showing you how much the pen is filled and allowing you to inject people. Radiation scanner is pretty rare and stealthy already but it could have "hidden" mode as well. But its still would not work when you try to use it in that mode. "Oh, that scanner seems to be broken. Its just show gibberish on its display" Toy sword could probably be renamed into Energy sword and Toy chainsaw would be renamed into Chainsaw. But both would have new descriptions revealing them as toys. Detomatrix cartridge should be named as Generic signaler cartridge and have same description with one. Energy crossbow should be renamed into Toy one. But it would probably have more sinister look when you examine it more carefuly. Maybe its made out of metal instead of cheap toy plastic, or just heavier to carry? Toy handguns and shotguns could have their coloured tips removed and placed onto real guns. It would hardly fool anyone on close examination but could probably work on brief one.
  17. Nice idea, Kero. Detective would not be alone now when there is nothing to do and space will be used up better. But I still think detective could use some other kind of buddy. Maybe designated interrogator or someone like that. Brig phys already took some heat with dealing wounded prisoners on himself. PO would take some heat of dealing with minor criminals. Interrogator could take a function of... well person who interrogate detainees in brig, keeping track of that and accepting testimony from witnesses as well. But that should be a matter of new topic. I have nothing against PO being a subjob of IAA and living along with them - they dont need that much space actually and placing some useful terminals along with access could give them some more work to do. But the catch is that PO need to deal with criminals, yes paroled but still. So he should be better armed for self-defence and being a bit closer to actual security in mind. So making PO not very expensive karma job would be the best solution. Maybe same 5 karma as Brig physician. Both can be helpful to security but department can function without them. And what about IAAs, I think they should have more access than now. Basic access to all departments so they could be a bit more proactive. Inspecting departments, talking to people who work there and if they spot something fishy and suspicious - ask the respectful head/security to tacke charge and investigate. That would be especialy good with science department which is pretty secluded from the rest of the station and unoverseered because of that.

    Shaking hands

Actually nice idea. Aiming mouth could also allow to kiss other spess(wo)men. Because why not?
  19. Because of lots of people complaining about security ruining their "fun and roleplay" by brigging them I seems to be found some nice idea how to make playing along with and as security more fun and make less brigging for lesser crimes. New role-play job Parole officer based on real life criminal justice system. Thats a special officer designated to work with people who was sentenced for their crimes and has been released. Check out their behavior, keep in touch with respectful head of staff about released offender - make sure that released crimimal will not return on road of crime. That would encourage security to use parole more often for minor offenders and concentrate on actual threats to station. Because its better to release petty thief with conditional parole(get job from HoP, restrain from consuming alcogol and commiting more crimes, visit psychiatrist in some cases) than keep them locked up in brig useless for Nanotrasen. Indeed that job would require some equipment for successful work. - Tracking anklet - special anklet attached to crewmember footwear. Footwear with anklet attached could not be removed without someone's help and if removed without swipe of security ID will send a warning over security channel. Basicaly a temporary version of tracking implant designed for paroled petty criminals. Transmits current location and work as pager as well - warden and parole officer can send a priority message on every active anklet. Warden also can set parole conditions on anklet, so paroled crewmember could check them out at any time. Advanced model could probably also double as chemical implant. - Overwatch tablet - special tablet for parole officer. Allow to check data from tracking implants and bracelets remotely without use of prison console. Can send messages but nothing more. Along with that gear parole officer would have unique jumpsuit, cap, vest, sechud, pair of handcuffs and telescopic baton for self-defence. This guy job is to check out released people not to catch criminals.
  20. Research director is supposed to be the most important person aboard Cyberiad - Research station. So its obvious that candidate for that post will be checked even more seriously that HoS or any of security members. People tend to forget that RD is director not Scientist+ and his job is to keep manchild called scientist in line so they would not accidently or intentionaly blow the station up during their crazy research. So +1
  21. Warden's job? Warden have already too much responsibility. Process caught criminals, make sure they would not escape from brig, manage security records(never ever done), overseer officers, guard the brig and armoury and issue weaponry when the need arise. Thanks to brig physician, managing already brigged criminals is a bit easier now. You have someone who can threat them in brig or move them to medbay for threatment and return them back to cell. Warden cant overseer people who served their sentence obviously. That why parole officer could have some use as karma job. With him warden could release with parole petty criminals and let that new guy to check them out and overseer them. If person on parole commit crime again, parole officer will warn the rest of security and criminal will be brigged as repeat offender. Some brig time addition for parole violation could also be applied.
  22. Real spessmen use Mechs to get inside. Push people around with your arms/clamp or mow them down with machine gun. Or get yourself a spacesuit and use shuttle window to get inside. Dont bother with other people who have no spacesuits. They would certanly would not be sucked out or freeze/suffocate to death. Honestly.
  23. Honestly I think it would be nice to give both chaplain and psychologist basic brig access so they could visit prisoners and talk to them. Maybe we could also add new alt.title for psychologist like "Parole/probation officer" who will be supposed to help criminals to return to law-abiding life on-board. Because some people start do shit just because they were wronged by command/security for real not because they secretly want to piss off security and just need an excuse for it. Psychologist could offer help to that people along with IAA.
  24. On bay you are not allowed to wear helmet as officer during Green code. Wearing armour is not mandatory like during other codes and left for officers own discretion. You can wear your vest or keep it in your backpack. Russian TC server acts the same(because its basicaly bay+tg). You cant wear helmet during Green all the time but armour is fine.
  25. BUMP. Security still need some new gear. Maybe even something for green code. Maybe dress them like english police? Just like security they got no lethal weapons on normal patrols. Only for emergencies.
