This guide is meant to give an overview of what makes for a good Gray character. I'm actually not able to play as gray as much as I should, so this might be a little off, But more expierienced players are invited to post what works for them.
The ups and downs
As a beginning, I'm gonna start off that Grays have Telepathy. Thats an upside, but the downside is that water is like acid to them. An easy way for an antag to kill them is simply with a bucket of water. Its best to just stay away from anybody with a bucket, clowns, showers, sinks, and janitors. Another upside is that their immune to Acid. Another down side is that water is easier to get than acid. A way I think of it is that for grays, water is acid and acid is water. Also, their punches are very pityful. I think thats all I can think of for now.
Stereotype "Big head" Aliens
Grays tend to have gray skin and larger heads than any other race. You can probably see where their name comes from. They can use two forms of Telepathy. They can speak to everybody in that room, or simply one person at a time. Grays are weaker than any other race also. They have a babies punch, in my opinion. Also their skin is more vulnerable. They take more damage from things. They also cost 30 karma, so you should better save up if you ever want to have a Gray character! The pool in the gym is like a pool of acid, since its filled with water. Remember this. Grays don't have their own language, so you have to use Telepathy if you want to talk to a single person.
Finishing touches
A gray isn't something that you can just easily get. You need 30 karma in total, like Blueshield or Kidan. Its not easy to RP either. Grays are smarter than normal humans. This means, if anything, they could know both Chemistry and Robotics. The person roleplaying as a Gray can choose if they want the Grays speech to be affected. If anything, try to use larger words. For example. When you want to buy something at any time, its best to say Purchase instead of buy. Or when you say at the beginning of a sentence "I think", Instead say "Presumably,". Remember, their smarter so they use larger words than an average human. Well, this is mostly all I know. Thanx for reading, and remember, I have not actually played as a gray as much as I should have, for this guide, so it might not be 100% correct.
