Very good Guide, thanks! Your fellow surgeon, Henry Dennis here ^^

I really didn't understand why people were so obsessed by the cat thing. The ERT/DS that came on the station was a bunch of blood thirsty officers. They even changed the AI laws so they could take over the control of the station (At least of the AI). Andrew Murray was creaming like crazy " ALL CATS ARE GOING TO BE EXECUTED IN FIVE MINUTES IF THEY DON'T COME TO THE LIBRARY ". Even if they are transformed into cats, they still remain crew members according to the Crew Manifest. This whole thing was a bit silly.

Squish.

Maybe.

I like that " Capture someone " idea. Hopefully the person is not SSD.

At least let the victim know it has been hit with it so you know who did it. I've been killed once with this power and the second time I was struck by it, I was near a cryocell (how convenient and ironic) that allowed me to survive the burn damage caused by the power (I was dragged out of it by the invisible attacker that transformed me into a monkey but it's a different story). I totally agree that it's overpowered. When it's combined with invisibility, that's just ridiculous.

A griefer will always be a griefer, should he be a carp, Runtime, a diona or a character. Carps are slow as hell when controlled by players. You can't really chase anyone as a player carp. When I play a carp, I'm looking inside the station from windows, trying to find a prey. When I find one, I break the window and try to chase the player (that's what NPC carps do). What people usually do is to run away. There is no way to chase them as a player controlled carp. Real carps are super fast, though. Also, player carps die really easily. Two swipes at a carp with a circular saw is enough to kill them. I think they are fine the way they are. It's just that griefers like to use them to sabotage the station in a OOC fashion. Carps are not interested in sabotaging the station, there sole purpose is to hunt down and eat people.

I'm pretty sure you pissed everyone in surgery there but maybe me more than any other person. I was Henry Dennis the surgeon, the one you handcuffed to protect a griefing diona (but you couldn't have known, still you shouldn't have arrested me). Actually, like we told you in IC, dionas are not part of the crew. You shouldn't bother protecting them. As far as a cyborg knows, they are plants that can talk and have a name. When they get a job, they're part of the crew. Glaze just transformed in surgery and started messing around. What happened was that we asked for security in surgery because the diona was taking surgical tools and stabbing people with them. Glaze was disarmed once, he took a scalpel again and was disarmed again. Some people got a little heated up and stab him because he wasn't stopping being a jerk at the exact moment you entered. I was handcuffed because I disarmed him. He was the culprit and you arrested the victims. Not very pro, if you ask me. That's kind of situation where asking people what happens is great. And you wouldn't have a bad reputation There were so many witnesses... and you were actually violating law 1. Misunderstandings happen and as I mentioned before, this game is sometimes hard to understand. I don't blame you

Welcome on the forums ! Oh god, you are September and Snow. Last time I saw you playing on Paradise station it looked like you were trying to do your best but it wasn't quite enough. As far as I remember, Snow was a horrible security cyborg, helping griefers (some tree guy named Glaze or Glazer) in surgery and stunning/arresting without any questioning. September on the other hand steals surgical tools and runs around in medbay or genetics doing nothing constructive. Correct me if I'm wrong But I guess the learning curve on this game is kind of harsh.

Ye olde box trick works wonder with noob security. They often don't bother checking the jumpsuits pocket before taking it from you. People never check the slots in coats either.

We had a " Everyone is a traitor " round yesterday. Everyone had the same objective " There are some traitors on the station. Destroy them all. Try to avoid killing innocents. Survive until the end ". It was chaotic to say the least but fun anyway.

Assistants killing each other like crazy. Nice.
-
Alright, thanks. You did a fantastic job on that guide too. Quite impressive work on the redesign too

What you'll get : Grief server. I think that around 10% of the crew being syndicate/antag is really enough.

Pokemon...? No. Definitely no. At least not for me Your Beast idea isn't that bad. I like the idea of super vilain that demands sacrifice for retribution but it might be too close to the cult and Vox Raider rounds. And what would be the end game for such a game mode? The second part of your idea is too much like a blob round also.

You're right, one could change the place of the instruments when starting but I guess being optimal on the first try isn't a bad thing either I've yet to encounter a situation where a third operation table was necessary (as long as other patients are stable, an emergency can replace a patient on a busy table) but it can't be too much, I think. Always useful. And to comment on other suggestions made in this thread, players that want to enter surgery to look is a real problem. Tools are often missing and patients sometimes rebel after being treated (which is hopefully rare and they are often dealt with by admins). Also, I'm not sure I'd want blood bags in a separate room that I can't see as a surgeon. It's great to have them at hand in the surgery room. Maybe I'm missing something but where are all the biosuits? I can see only one in that maintenance-looking corridor near Isolation. Biosuits are very important on Paradise Station because admins love to create diseases during a round (which is a real pain in the ass, people shitting everywhere or invading medbay screaming " I NEED THE CURE " -or both ...- when all they do is coughing ). We need at least 5 or 6 biosuits, in my opinion.
-
One major issue I can see with the new version is that surgeons have to move to actually access all surgical tools. That would be a pain in the butt when the server is lagging (Paradise Station has over 80 players, even 95 players in the evening). Not practical at all in my opinion. And no body scanner is a bad idea. Body scanners tend to be quite busy when the shit hits the fan and sometimes it can't wait when players have internal bleeding. Also, closets are missing in the surgery room. If we have too many medical doctors, they can't dress up properly. Finally, what are the rooms underneath surgery supposed to be?

What in the ****!!!!!! lol, hi everyone ;)

Welcome! I always love when people introduce themselves like that " By the way, I was permabanned from another server ". I guess it wasn't your fault by what you're telling us but still... -
Paradise Station's rules are pretty much common sense... Just saying. You can play on the server without getting permabanned with basic common sense.

What are your favorite games besides SS13?
SoholTar replied to Froststahr's topic in Other Entertainment
Have you watched this guy's channel, Quill18? I'm into Hearthstone and I've re-installed Dungeon Keeper 2 recently too -
Come to think of it, I indeed never tried to control you because you were cooperative (and suddenly died)... Damn. False assumptions then

Slime people can be infected by a borer, which I tested yesterday on Squishy Larkens. Does this mean it has a brain after all? The funny thing is that, being translucent, people should have seen the borer inside his head

There's a cool alternative to breaking windows, it's called rotating them. You unscrew them from the floor (screwdriver), pry them out of the frame (crowbar), unscrew the frame (screwdriver) and voila, you can rotate the window. It doesn't leave a trace if you replace it correctly. You'll eventually leave prints on the window if you don't wear gloves, though.

Welcome on the forums. See you on the station!
