it would not make it a secret that his on the station true but is that a problem?, but as long as he pretend to be a civilian his pretty much undercover. but an alternative can easy be to add a fake ID and Civilian PDA at security. its easy alright. yet i kinda feel that being able to chose this as a role makes it a little more interesting then just tossing in another security guard, and help make it a focus on civilian criminality since a i often feel security is to confused/stressed to handle all the "none threatening" crimes and more see people trying to report such crimes as an nuisance they simply ignore and walk by.

you know is not really Vigilante unless your acting outside of the law. while Security seams more like a Military police this was thought more in a manner of civil police and the ability to brig people for up to 5 min was thought as a way of making the small stuff being processed faster then having them wait 10 minutes for a magistrate to show up. but its easy to say they cant, and have to follow the same simple procedure as a regular guard. well its a semi regularity that i have not seen happen ingame yet. (or maybe they are just that good) how does something predictable make it useless? are we talking that people will stop assaulting each other? or people who wish to do criminal stuff will do it less obviously? does not sound to bad to me if people try and sneak into the maintenance area, or isolate people instead of publicly beat someone up. in fear that there might be a undercover cop.

So we have a lot of Small Crimes. you know the small stuff that security don't give a rats ass about. Ohh so somebody hit you twice whit a cane? Im sorry but we are on red Alert and syndicates are trying to blow us up. ohh someone walked into the bar and forced you to eat Space drugs? go to medical Security are stressed already trying to stop rouge AI. and so on and on.... do i need to say more? The job is simple, you have the right to arrest people and give them a 5 min prison time (graded that it is fair). anything higher than that you need someone whit a higher position to give. but since this require people to play responsible and >NOT< misuse its power it need to be a Karma Role. how does this work? you start whit normal cloth and a Fake Id, whit a fake name on, a extra PDA saying Civilian. a pair of handcuffs and a stun baron. no need for anything else. from here on just walk around the station and try and spot people doing criminal activity. change cloth frequently and change the name on the fake ID from time to time. (even if HoP hate to do extra work) get hands on a camera if you need evidence of the crime seen or some evidence bags. maybe a fake mustache, get good friend whit the barber and detective. and help make the station a little safer. note your not part of the normal Security force. this job have main focus on catching the small crime and is not meant to battle all the traitors and supernatural stuff that is security's area. so a undercover cop who pick up a Armored vest and a Lazar gun to battle Vampires is not a good Undercover cop! thoughts and ideas?

only thing i can think of, is to be careful not to stress the HoP to much early game, making the line larger whit people who now also need a new ID or PDA, can really take up time from people and make it unbearable to border trying to get a/new job. but it be a great way to make HoP have more to do later game if new players joining in later in the game, have to pay a visit to the HoP.

I will take your advise to heart, you fucking moron

sup, Acelivion joining in. normally seen in-game as Tonney Freeway. trying hard to balance being likable and restraining myself from trowing stuff at people. i like to RP and if you ever see me playing as a Psychologist do feel free to talk to me, i love my job... also like to play tabletop, pen and paper, and enjoy the stressful life as a university student... but at least campus is not blowing up twice a day. so nice to meet all of you, you might have noticed posted a few suggestions before introducing myself.. well that's just how i am.

Hey i played whit a new guy today and he tried looking at the wiki for help and it seamed he needed a few more tips on how to make it all work. so i have now copy pasted the wiki in to this post and gonna make some editing where i thing there might be stuff people need to know. your free to use it or just leave it Your workplace The Cargo bay is your home as a Cargo Technician and, naturally, where you start the game. It contains a Hand Labeler, destination taggers, a Cell Charger and Power Cell set, a Station Bounced Radio, some Rods, a Multitool, a Med-kit, some empty Crates, a MULE, a Copy Machine, and an Autolathe. Your Boss The Head of Personnel is your superior, as is the Quartermaster. Do what they order you to do, with the Head of Personnel being the top priority. Getting started: it is imported to know that to order useful items for the station you need Cargo Points (CP). as a cargo technician you have only a few ways to preserve the cargo points from running out. since your not directly responsible for getting more points. first step is to send back crates whit the shuttle. each crate will give you a total of 5 CP. to get some quick CP right of the bat its recommended to empty the cargo hall for Crates. you will find about 6 crates at the beginning of the round stored away. giving you about 30 extra CP to work whit. Returning Crates! it is important to note that a crate comes whit a "shipping manifest" attached to it. those "shipping manifest" can be worth Gold if you have your paper work in order. whenever someone comes to return a crate they have ordered. you can place the "shipping manifest" inside of that crate to gain 2 extra CP. giving a potential 7Cp discount on all orders if done correctly. Handling orders: you will see people come running to order stuff. its the quartermaster's job to make sure that people don't order things they are not meant to have. but more often then not you need to look at the computer and check if orders have been left hanging. or if the quartermaster goes missing you have to be able to take over to insure that the station keeps running. there are 2 good ways to send the crates to their appropriate places: Using the MULEBot Drag the crate on to the MULE. Set a destination with your PDA or on the control panel. Send the MULE off! How to Recharge the MULEBot Disposals Mailing Wrap your item/crate with package wrapper. Pick up the destination tagger and click in your hand to set a destination. Use the destination tagger on the parcel. Optional: Use a pen to write a message on the parcel, or custom set a destination.) Stick it on the conveyor, or dump it in a disposals unit, and let the system handle it. Tip: Click and drag the large parcels to disposals units to put them in. This can only be done a few times however. how to gift wrap packages and Humans The Autolathe. this is a wonderful machine that makes you stuff, it runs on Metal and Glass. often people will come to the cargo to order things like Tools. those are not orders in crates, but made from the Autolathe. so your job is simply to craft those items and hand them over, but only if people seam to have a good reason to get those tools and other stuff. Other things to do. check the trash-line. its overall a good idea to look at all the trash the station dumps fro time to time. here you might find useful items. help security whenever you find someone tried to dispose of a dead body. or just regular trash. also not to forget, trowing out people who trashed them-self. this happens frequently! this help you get an overall idea about the stations situation since often as a cargo technician you tend to loose touch whit the world outside of cargo hall Doing Paperwork ready to look professional ? sure you are. its a great way to impress the quartermaster. first of you can take all the shipping orders and stamp then whit the Approved or Denied stamp. it really fells good to stamp a big Denied in front of the clown ordering a shotgun crate. then you can file them to make sure everything looks nice and in order. whenever people want you to use the Autolathe you can go to the Guide to Paperwork section and copy the form you need, just o make people fill out the paper while you work at the machine. this way they at least got something to do while waiting. and you get a break from people talking about how much stuff they need. Traitoring You're a bit of in a pickle here, but wait. There's an autolathe that can help you GREATLY. Be careful though, if there is a Quartermaster, he will probably notice your shady activities in the Cargo Bay. It is possible to emag the cargo ordering console and order certain special shipments, which will help you greatly if you manage to sneak them onto the station unnoticed by your colleagues.

Well it will give the Genetics a really good reason to open up and check on the monkey, instead of just jamming that syringe into himself and have a Clean S.E ready in the other. I love it !. Im sure once you find the Gene the Chaplin can get as many Golden Statues of whatever he wants. why stop at monkeys? Golden Clown. Golden Mime, Golden HoP, Lots of Golden Sec, Golden captain, Golden complaining Admin. the possibility's are endless but yes just some way to make the Genetics department have a chance to get the "did there fucking job" add to the final score of a round.
-
like Code wise ? or are we just assuming that the QM gonna get a stroke? well a dead monkeys is still better then nothing its something that can be worked around. but what about the concept? on/off? to much trouble?

Prologue: So i have been thinking a lot lately about how to make Genetics great (or Greater) since right now they are not on the End of Round Summary and how to make them get the nice achievement of "did there fucking Job" since I believe it helps motivate people to care about doing genetics. and often Genetics only contributing to the station is when a Doctor ask for a Monkey-Man because of organs and blood and eating all of the stations supplies of Charcoal. Idea: Golden Monkey. its really simple (Lies!), add a mutation called "Golden" what does it do? it make you look like shining Gold. so basically find the mutation, turn a Monkey or other Animal into gold. drag it to Cargo, and Bam! You did your fucking Job. you get Cash and add a bonus the the final score of the game. and if it does not break the game balance then maybe Cargo get some Points to. (tricky part is the animal have to be alive, since it to easy just hit all the buttons and drag a dead radioactive golden monkey to cargo) Why: now you actually have a purposes to fulfill other then clicking random buttons and trying to hand out syringes that people distrust. it really feels pointless sometimes to find all those superpowers just to see them laying around, knowing that you worked your radioactive ass off to find them and they don't seam to have any impact on the game since your a good guy and don't misuse them.(more Lies!) So what do you people think about a little genetic treasure hunt?

thanks for clarifying my post, that is exactly what i suggest

So i noticed that the nice Wiki have a lot of Sample Forms for paperwork, and they are generally used a lot in game. now i just happen to wonder if its not a good idea to have a single paper for the relevant forms (at appropriate places) already written in game. so people does not have to jump to the Wiki to copy paste forms when a round beings but can simply just stay in game and start hitting the copy machine instead? (i tried searching the forum to see if something like this was already suggested but i did not find anything so my apologizes if it have already been suggested )
