Theres a bit of a story of events here. About a month ago from today, I became ill (not with covid), which meant I had to be careful with what I ate to avoid throwing up. Leading up to this point, I had been having about 5 coffees a day. Going from that daily intake to complete cold turkey, and an illness, had me bed-ridden for 3 days straight where I could not even stand up. Sidenote during this point, the perfect server for hosting came up (the one we are using right now), but I couldn't even get out of bed, so I had to guide neca through purchasing it from my phone while sounding absolutely dead inside. I have recovered since and I stayed off of coffee for 2 weeks, however now I am having about a cup or 2 a day, but no way in hell am I going back to where I was before. Being bed-ridden for 3 days and unable to even stand up was not a joyful experience in the slightest, and I would not recommend anyone go through what I did. Sustaining on 5 a day was fine while it was happening, but I knew at some point, I would end up having a harsh break from it, and boy did I have one.

I honestly really like TG nanites. It is a super cool feature (even though theres no way its coming here). The weird and wonderful things you can do with them makes for a really in depth and advanced system thats a lot of fun to tinker round with. I was just not a mature individual at the time and was prone to being a complete and utter idiot. I had troubles in the past with holding grudges, but those issues are gone now and I am reformed. If I was still bad, well, I wouldn't be where I am now. No. This is a very mixed bag and not sure if I can give a coherent answer, but I tend to trust other people's balance views over my own (I rarely vote on balance changes unless its super obvious that its overpowered and awful). We did have a design team eons ago but it is unlikely that it will ever return, and I dont feel qualified to make such a decision. May come as a shock, but I use an iphone. The OS just feels nicer and less clunky for me, backups are easier to manage, the rest of my family has iphones which means I don't have to buy apps twice, not to mention use imessage to message them over wifi, and in general I just prefer the iOS user experience to the android one. PC wise, windows for life. I used linux for a bit but it turned out to be an awful experience, and in regards to mac OS, you could not pay me to use that abomination.

Update: Gifs now rescale properly and the above issue is fixed. I needed to make the wiki code work with en_GB instead of en_US because I installed the UK language because I use a UK keyboard and I am not having my @ sign be in a stupid place.

Because I assume people would have weird questions to ask especially given 2017-era AA. That and this is a good way to make it look like I am not at a total disconnect with the community

Title says it all. Ask me almost anything. Questions I react to with a stunbaton wont be answered. You can ask about para history maintainer hell, hosting hell, other shit, etc etc.

Hello All Paradise services have now been migrated to a new infrastructure. Everything should be working, but please contact me if you are having issues with the game server, forums, wiki, or anything else.

Male and female human sprites are different, so this would require a new set of sprites. Now for the bit where twitter cancels me. The gender option determines how your body is ingame. IRL, you have either a male body or a female body. Thats how it is. This does raise the question of "Add a separate preference as what you want to identify as", but that would require redoing of all the existing pronoun code to use an identify_gender var instead of the regular one, which is just going to cause headaches all around.

@SabreMLthis implies (or to me it does anyway) that it stays on. That and its hardly an issue. It pegs the lighting SS for about 2 seconds, if that, then its back to normal. Its hardly an issue.

Uhhh no? Thats not how this works at all. Performance tanks when there are lighting updates, not by it being static. It takes a second for the entire station to go dark or light, but once it is in that state the atoms arent being modified, as they keep their colour values. Please dont rag about performance issues unless you actually understand how things do or do not impact performance.

Magistrate doesnt need this. They arent a command member or station authority in the same way the Captain is. The magistrate may have final authority on brig related matters, but thats not something which intertwines with the whole of command, but I will break down the points and go in detail why. The entire station doesn't need to know this. Most of the station couldn't (and really shouldn't) care less. If for whatever reason it needs to, the HoS can do it. Not really sure why this relies on an announcement system. Decisions like this are never done in an area other than processing. Don't kid yourself, the courtroom is never used, and even if it was, this announcer would be in the bridge or the magistrate office, and I have high doubts that the magistrate would leave just to announce something then walk back in Struggling to think when this would ever happen. The IAA dont need public support, thats not their point. The point of IAA is to deal with complaints, specifically with security. They speak with central, and they never need public support. The magistrate has nothing to do with this, and making a massive announcement with riots will just encourage them further.

First of all, no. We may get new gasses some day, but its nowhere near a priority. With the amount of gasses they have, their atmos system chugs in performance, and we already strain for that. The server runs an intel 9900k, and it can only just keep up when we have 160 people online Chem factories are not happening. We have enough chemistry memes already without needing to add literal factories that pump out meth at alarming speed. We also don't want cobbychem. TG xenobio is actually interesting yes, but it would require a lot of balancing around our stuff, and wont come easy.

Ok but 1) Instant ranged stuns are being removed 2) The blueshield isnt meant to be chasing after people, his job is to protect command. The gun is like this for a reason. The blueshield isnt meant to be chasing people down to no end, the taser shots are to neutralise someone attacking a command member, then drag the command member away from harm. The lethals are a last resort if its a situation where security arent around and someone needs to die that minute

Sirens, sure. Yeah its gonna be super annoying but sure. If you mean actual lights that update and flash red and blue in the area around the mech for like 4 tiles away, thats a no from me. Not only will that be super annoying, but it will put a substantial load on the lighting subsystem.

These are the major issues with this idea. Had it been this easy I would have just pinged headmins for a rule revision. This change will just result in ungodly amounts of validhunting for regular traitors because "B-BUT HE COULD BE A HIJACKER"
