  4. We do if we want to continue to be able to port things and keep the aesthetic consistent. The donksoft vendor on the syndicate lavaland base had the new art style while nothing else around it did, and it looked super out of place. Also please avoid necro posting on threads that havnt been replied to in 7 months, especially if it’s just a “+1” style post.

  9. I will keep this short to avoid a thread topic shift The entire system isn't being phased out, just the jobs part. Would waste time for legitimate awards, and most would just type "RP'd well" for every reason Its almost like its awfully designed
  10. I plan to make karma jobs a thing of the past. Other members of leadership agree with me, and a lot of us believe your ability to play a job should be dictated by your actual experience, not the size of your metagang.
  11. I dont like this. 90% of the rounds I play the admins roll the dice off the bat then dont do anything. This is just going to lead to players expecting adminbus when they see meme dice rolls and I aint dealing with that shit.

  13. This is doable, but painful. Currently, all the chess code is entirely client side. The server doesn't know how your chess game is going, what pieces are where, etc etc etc, all it knows is that you are playing chess. To make this work, the entirety of chess would have to be rewritten in DM, not JS, including all of the rules and piece manipulation. It is doable, but it is by no means an easy task.

There’s a difference between a feature that’s put in once and not needing to be touched, and one like this (which relies heavily on sprite alteration code at runtime) which needs to be tweaked every time we get a new style of spider. Given how your reputation on the git is that of any criticism thrown towards your POV, as well as the fact you aren’t the one who has to deal with making sure code still works when stuff gets changed around or new things are added. To quote you, “it’s simply not a big argument for me” I’m locking this before it turns into an even bigger argument than it already is. Heads of Staff and other maintainers may unlock it if they do so desire.
  16. Regular time locks cant be exploited, you have to actually engage with the round Karma on the other hand just requires you to have a large metagang. You can have 0 security hours and just get 30 karma from being a science powergaming meme.
