Ahelp it if that happens, even under our current Space Law, that's absolutely not allowed.

Strongly disagree with this--it not only takes away a part of what makes the race unique, but also inevitably leads to people picking the most common species language just so they can gain an advantage in terms of gameplay (I'm guessing, at the time of this posting, that would be the Tajaran language). pAI's translator package exists for a reason =p

It's not Bone White's system; it's just Bay's virology system---their most recent update to virology, however, means that virus protection runs off of bio armor isntead of special type checks. Also, after discussing it with some TG coders and devs, it's not especially clear if even TG uses (or ever used) bio armor; their disease code seems to run off of permeability coefficient of clothing (how easy a gas or other stuff can penetrate something).

Do we really need a job who's sole purpose is to screw over antags and simultaneously ensure that the person who was attacked also gets rescued?
-
Ideally, cryocells should lock, immediately, when someone is placed inside them, with only the person in the cell being able to eject it--meaning people who get shoved into cryodorms are completely hands off from petty thieves (until they log out, then you can recover their items and go hog wild).

Your friend wouldn't know a good armor rating if they smashed him in the face; here's their armor protection: melee = 80, bullet = 80, laser = 50, energy = 50, bomb = 100, bio = 100, rad = 100 With the exception of the laser rating this is literally the best individual armor rating of various gears combined (ie: Riot, bulletproof, laser vest, bomb suit, etc) For reference, here's the best overall armors the crew can get: Cap's space suit melee = 65, bullet = 50, laser = 50, energy = 25, bomb = 50, bio = 100, rad = 50 HoS's trench melee = 65, bullet = 30, laser = 50, energy = 10, bomb = 25, bio = 0, rad = 0

Shhh, no one ever must know.

People in crit die at the same exact rate as they always have; this has never been touched. Either case, I'd definitely prefer a medical cart that holds a few supplies as opposed to lightning fast ambulances--especially given the fact the lightning fast ambulances tended to be used more for personal transportation or powergaming as opposed to actually saving people.

Sorry, but your post doesn't really outline anything to alleviate my concerns over metagrudging, griefing, etc. It just reduces it a bit. Likewise, I don't see how you addressed Streaky's concerns over whitelisting either; it still has to be coded and it still requires the administrative oversight of selecting candidates....for a single...antag species (that was never really designed to be played by regular players to begin with).
-
Still disagree for the reason I enumerated in the other thread in addition to what Streaky said.

Nope. Literally the only advantage of claws is they can cause bleeding; they do the same amount of damage as punches (random 0 to 9). They can't decap anymore either (only items can decap, and despite claws having the proper var, they're not an item soooo, you get the picture).

Assuming he even gets caught; it's fairly easy to gloss over when there's 5+ of the buggers and said person also tries to attack someone else; it looks legit and there's a 100% perfect excuse, too. And when features gets 50% of the time or more, then you should start questioning if the feature is a good one, or not; the amount of abuse that players engaged in with spiders and especially carp was incredibly incredibly high; a good number of people literally just went around breaking windows because they could.
-
This---this to an insane, absolute "T". Also, since they're "antags" with no objectives--they're pretty much free to do whatever...and, not surprisingly, people would metagrudge with them. I still recall Bone White questioning a player "why did 3 carp just come after you, one after another for no reason at all?" This also brings up issues with the spider ling ability; it feels shitty enough when an NPC spider attacks you, but when ling victims actively start wanting to player spiders just to get their twisted form of revenge? That's bad. Very strongly opposed to this; it was removed for a reason.

Don't even start.

Streaky has played too much Prison Architect
Fox McCloud replied to Streaky Haddock's topic in Suggestions
Generally agree that parts of security need work (mostly interrogation+prison flow, but that really can't be fixed, to be honest), but I feel that map design is a big step in the wrong direction; permabrig is already bad enough, as is; that pretty much ensure prisoner will have absolutely zero chances of escape, ever. Bay's old security and TG's current security are both pretty good in terms of overall flow and design---I don't think a "centralized" security design (with permabrig being the 'wheel' as seen here or Bay's current sec) is a good or desirable thing. -
Well, besides the whole invisible revolution problem, there's also the co-operation issues; it's kinda shitty when people don't want to co-operate---Cult isn't a voluntary join thing, why should rev? You essentially have two options and both have massive potential to backfire (1)Attempt to get someone to voluntarily join (and nothing says they have to, in which case they can just say no and go straight to security/command afterwards and stop the revolution before it even starts (2)You stun them and start cuffing them, only to get a "SO AND SO STUNNED ME WITH X AND IS TRYING TO REMOVE MY HEADSET" or "HELP IN". Yes, I realize it's harder to convert in cult than in rev, but cultists also get a lot more other tools--stuns, EMPs, teleports, invisible long-distance communication methods, weapons, etc---Rev's only special "gear" is a flash and the ability to quick-convert.
-
RP Rev is pretty much like this only no flash....it ends up just being "join or die" only the Heads of Staff have no idea it's even coming because there's no evidence for it until you have a swarm of people outside your doorstep. fun fact: RP Revs used to get uplinks on their PDAs when converted.

This is very much intentional; once upon a time you could have a second language, or two, or three, or four. People started selecting every single language and adding it to their character just so they could understand literally everything; it was later decided to limit language use on species lines and keep tradeband+gutter open as universal langauges...but that you could only pick a secondary language (well, besides everyone knowing Sol, of course). This wasn't done for lore or game balance reasons, this was done for uniqueness and to set each species apart. If anything, I think the languages need the opposite treatment; more obscurity; currently you can parse out some of the things other species (including simple animals) are saying since it only adds in asterisks--this should go a step further and scramble letters and possibly introduce a few "false positives" (ie: letters/numbers you never said) to make in unparseable. Two species talking right in front of you about killing you and you have no idea isn't a big deal--anyone can do that with PDA messages.
-
No, because there's absolutely nothing stopping you from getting coffee, sugar, and cream in a single reagent container/glass as is--heck, the barkeep (on our server, anyway) even has all three in his dispensers, and all three reagents have independent and unique effects.
-
I actually had a PR that made several map changes--with the dresser in the dorm room...sadly, the dresser runtimes out the butt, so it wasn't included. Once the runtimes with it are fixed, it will be added.

It's a pretty important weapon, especially for fighting nuke ops; an op with an energy shield is pretty much immune to everything but a stun baton and bullets (as far as conventional weaponry). It stuns for less duration than tasers do in exchange for damage---they're rubber, too, as Mark pointed out, so they don't have an increased chance to bleed and they won't embed. Detective's bullets shouldn't be embedding unless the detective is modifying his gun and shoving in lethal rounds.

I'd point out the reason HoS is whitelisted on Goon is because of the ridiculous amount of power he has access to: -ID Console access and therefore effectively all access -Energy gun (taser+laser in one...and lasers there do 60 damage a shot with fire speeds as quick as ours) -access to 6 riot shotguns+6 ammo (each which have 6 ammo) -Access to the second best armor suit in the game (bested only by industrial space armor) -a damn freaking spiffy beret -thermals He's also responsible for keeping his officers in line for not being shitcurity...so it's a lot of power and responsibility; more so than any other job on the station has access to (unlike on Bay/TG, HoS vastly outclasses the Captain in every way, shape, and form); comparing their whitelisting of HoS to any of our command positions isn't really applicable here.

Quite frankly, I wish the research station was on another z-level entirely; one filled with rocks, but not resources--which solves two problems: (1) Xenoarcheologists having to deal with miners or possibly monsters (2) Self-sustainability. It's fairly trivial for a scientist to mine his own resources, then break into the mining outpost to refine his own materials. This will get worse once TG mining is finished, as they'll be able to build their own ore redemption machine and equipment vendor; they'll not only be able to mine+refine their own ores, but be able to get all the cool toys that are meant to be miner only.

Yeah, and we were still hitting 50-60 players during the day time. It was really only night-time that became problematic (where we would dip down to 15-20 sometimes).

Cargo isn't exactly a high security department, nor shoudl they really be locking off access to their entire department--medbay, science, and engineering all have legitimate reasons to be able to do so...cargo really doesn't. HoP can limit people because, again, it's a high security area (and this isn't to say every high security area necessarily needs shutters, either).
