Hello, I think the psychologist doesn't have much to do at the moment even if it's a role primarily geared towards roleplay, I have a suggestion I think would make the role more interesting, offer more functionality as well as be able to add even further to the roleplay as it's role is initially designed to do.
So, I think the psychologist should be given access to sec and operate as a dual sec and medical role, similar to the geneticist is with science and med. I don't think it should get access to cells or weapons lockers of course, just the corridors outside the cells, the private interrogation room, the medical room and the space outside the permabrig. The idea would be that the psychologist can counsel prisoners which will 1, give the prisoners something to occupy themselves with, perhaps making them less prone to escape as I see many trying to escape their cells with broken lightbulbs evne for 5 minutes. 2. it will be able to occupy permabrig prisoners, we all know it can be pretty lame being stuck in permabrig, in rare cases the psychologist presence could even give prisoners a rare conduit and a glimmer of hope in escaping, 3. It will give the psychologist more to do, as I find it's a role devoid of much function even in it's primary function of providing roleplay, many are often to busy enjoying to round to volunteer to be subjected to psychologist. Perhaps the psychologist could even act as an advocate in some cases mildly similar to IAA in the sense that they could try to make a case that the patient is mentally ill rather than criminal in their intent.
Anyway curious to see what others think and have to add, I feel like psychologist has a lot of potential but is severely lacking in content to make it a rich playing experience consistantly.
edit: Maybe if they were given more legal powers they could become a karma role and work with IAA/Magistrate, in the sense of arguing for mental insanity rather than criminal intent, just an idea not sure if it fits.
