  1. I love the X series (even though x:rebirth is a hot steamy pile of poo). Especially X3:terran conflict and its standalone expansion X3:albion prelude EDIT: if for some strange reason you read my post, looked it up and now want to buy it take note that this is one of those games that will take you around a month just to get used to and even longer to truly master
  2. getting a bit of topic here i think the main things that should be considered would be idea 1 2 and 4. since they would make spacestation 13 a littlebit easier to understand for new players and a littlebit less of a hassle
  3. The pods do what you expect them to do, you go inside of them and zoom off into space to explore. The bluespace artillery....... I have absolutely no clue what it does since its never ever used.
  4. During my time on this server i have noticed a few things that can be changed about the map, I attempted to use dreammaker to make these changes and i think most of them turned out pretty good. I also saved them in a difrent .dmm file so if these changes are apriciated i am more then happy to upload it somewhere. here are the examples up until now http://imgur.com/a/8tBLI#0 image 1: some might know this setup already since i play surgeon alot, the main change here is the extra table added to both of the operating tables and the way the items on these tables are arranged. The disposal bin is moved one tile to the left to accomodate for the extra table and because of this the freezer, O-bloodpack table and the iv drip have also been moved. Over the course of a few weeks i've already gained alot of positive feedback over this setup because it is MUCH easier to grab some of the tools this way. image 2: Here i removed some of the clutter from the atmospherics bay, in this picture I only show the tables in the south western corner to be removed but there are some other things that might be removed as well like the mixing stations in the north west and the wall seperating the north east corner from the rest of atmospheric's. In my opinion fooling around with atmospherics is fun and usually also pretty helpfull too the rest of the station, the main problem with this is that there is VERY little room to build things. image 3: added a tiny piece of wall below the bomb making area mass driver so it isnt exposed to space anymore... i dont know why this wall was removed because its usually there on other servers image 4: removed the 2 emitters left and right off the supermatter engine, since the supermatter engine only needs 4 bursts to power the entire station its useless to have 3 emitters firing at it and for people who are new too the supermatter engine it can even be confusing. image 5: Since the pods were added i thought we might replace the currently never used artillery and turn it into some kind of podbay.

This could even be done in a very simple to program manner(i guess) by giving us a way to connect canisters to pipes more permanent by doing stuff like welding the canister down or something like that. That way we could use the method of making these refilling stations mentioned in my first post viable withouth getting our canisters stolen everytime an assistant with a wrench runs by.

They arent a round they are an event that happens during any kind of round, the purpose of player controlled carp is giving people who died an opertunity to play instead of having to wait the entire round. Their purpose is NOT griefing up the entire outer perimiter of the station. I also notice that you asked "why do they need to act like real space carp?" acting out your role to the best of your ability is what this game is about. A spacecarp in that regard isnt supossed to know that humans die without oxygen and shouldn't be interested in destroying a station. kinda like how real fish like piranahs will bite you but not destroy the boat you are on to get to you.
  7. yea and with a littlebit of atmos tech magic you can split the nitrogen from the nearest distribution pipe and make it so vox can ask you for a refilling place where they are working
  8. so i've recently thought about using my newfound atmos knowledge for some fun project one of which would be recharge stations for air tanks. The problem with this is that there is currently no way to connect small and large air tanks too the piping network withouth using a canister inbetween as a sort of connector. I say we make a way to cut out that rather misusable and stealable middleman(canister) and add some kind of Pipe to tank connecting station.
  9. couldnt you technically do this with the help of an atmos tech and some smartly laid piping? I guess im going to work on a new project next time im an atmos tech.
  10. ok i dont know the opinion of others about this but everytime i see player controlled carps they are either playing friendly carp which is quite funny or they are using their time as a carp to break every window exsisting on the station sometimes not even concentrating on hurting people. The latter ruins the enjoyment of having this random event because it causes the entire station to be vented on every possible side along with the lag that happens because of that. and OH dont forget about the worst carp of all as seen here (image to big to add as an attatchment) http://imgur.com/5O74AZd This carp singlehandedly ruined a round breaking atmos beyond whats easily repairable and causing the whole system to stop pumping air into the station, i suggest at the LEAST to add a giant reinforced wall around atmos to protect it from these griefing carp

I think it might be better to combine medical doctor and virologist into one job, ive seen virusses shit up the entire station about 6 times now and everytime it happens there is noone to fix it and i think this is because a virologist doesnt have much to do when there isnt a virus going around. By combining medical doctor and virologist into one job you can have people do virology when needed and let them be the medical doctor like normal when there isnt a virus going around. basically: -take away virologist -give medical doctors all the acces to do virology i dont know what people will think about giving doctors more power but i think this might be a solution to never having any virologists

I looked at the forum and suddenly came to the idea of adding a section specific to stories about events happening on the server. it could be a sub section like bug reports being under ground control, or an entire main section dedicated to stories about spacestation 13. This main section could have sub sections deviding the stories up into difrent categories like "traitor stories","civillian stories" and "stories from afar" IE from experiences on a difrent server. i hope this will one day be a thing since ss13 is a game that has so much potential for difrent things to happen be it funny or sad, heroic or villainous or anything inbetween those.
