This doesn't quite block the ability to trap a pod--just slide in via the middle two tiles. Indifferent otherwise. EDIT: I misunderstood OP's intentions. Disregard, this seems fine to me.

Stuns impact combat in a very massive manner, particularly for security, which is a combat heavy role. Security having a vehicle they can use in combat for various purposes will also impact combat. It's better to wait for the overhaul to go through and let things settle before we pile more things either for or against security.
-
Security should wait for the current stun overhaul to go through before other aspects of it are modified.

Magistrate having acces to make announcements
Spacemanspark replied to robveelben's topic in Suggestions
Perhaps they shouldn't. Why do they need it -
I think Paradise had enough tg ports. I'd prefer to see new, unique systems which are carefully designed to fit within Paradise's vision.

This. Chemistry is already wicked ridiculous.

This. Seriously, lockboxes are fine as is. Honestly, mecha weapons should be locked as well.
-
Blueshield doesn't need even more incentive to stick their noses into security's business imo.

New Karma Unlock - Custom Ghost Role Characters
Spacemanspark replied to Veterankyl's topic in Suggestions
Tbh I wouldn't mind people being able to use their karma races. Have everyone spawn in as a blank slate human and pop up a special customization window. If you change your race, it'll automatically assign a new name fitting to that race. -
Chasms are garbage tbh. Don't see any issue removing them.

The solution to one problem is not to worsen another.

Alright boys see you in another eight years

Yet you have the balls to tell a maintainer you're going to make an admin complaint against them because they didn't merge something related to vox. Ironic. If you can't tell, I'm a little more than irate with the behavior being presented as of late from this one particular race. Like, yoooo, I've seen some dumb shit from slimes, IPCs, humans, vulp, you fuckin' name it, I've torn down several cliques that were going out of their way to cause problems for other players of the community. But Jesus, I have never seen anything like this. We should not have people in private discords brigading in character and mass spamming PRs. Regardless of how effective it may or may not be (hint: it isn't) it's immature, breaks the already flimsy in game atmosphere and, at the end of the day, serves to only add onto the staff's collective burnout. We shouldn't have people pinging head admins demanding 'rights for vox' and then telling them they're promoting 'racism' when they get told no. I guess calling humans dust lungs or meatbags is fine, though...? I like vox as a race, but God damn there are days I wish we'd never taken it outside of the antag mode it was meant to be in. There are some really good roleplayers in that group... I wish they could outshine the continued problems we've seen time and again. Despite the maturity presented by OP, I honestly didn't even want to look at the document. I am so, so worn out by all of this... but I do appreciate his maturity and thoughtfulness. Echoing Necaladun, good on @Djvoid225for his efforts. The rest of you? I'd recommend taking a page out of his book and consider the community around you. Not just the staff team, but the entire playerbase. Hey vox discord if you read the first letter of everything I said in your general chat it spells out a message

It did though

I mean, even if you take it from the standpoint of what makes sense ICly--uh, yeah, I'd at least charge battery if someone walked up to me and kissed me because ??? I think you're overexaggerating. If you don't want to have problems, don't use it in open spaces on random people. It's not that hard.
-
do we really need more blatant meme abuse than we already have.
-
I mean, if it's consensual then the officer can get bapped for it ICly. Some people may abuse it, perhaps, but probably not as bad as the people abusing the kiss system.
-
I mean... don't abuse the feature if you don't want to get smacked. It's simple.
-
Unfortunately it's quite the opposite. Yes, I see you fuckers in maintenance. I don't want to, but I do. As a feature... eh. Not the biggest fan, but at least we could make it battery.

Suggestion: Changing of Rule 0 exception regarding pipes.
Spacemanspark replied to Rurik's topic in Suggestions
One and the same as far as I can tell. If you aren't trying to accuse us of such, you're sure wording it in a very poor manner. This is something I can agree on. I wouldn't have minded giving a bit more of a heads up to the community at the very least, if not a bit more discussion beforehand. However. In the words of the holy arbiter, Nothing about this game is simple. Managing it from an admin perspective is a nightmare at the best of times, and we have to accommodate a near limitless set of possibilities in a near limitless world. I was up at the top of the hill shouting for the initial pipe removal rule to be placed because the issues it caused with the players that solely focus on 'winning' and meta. But we cannot simply wave a magic wand and make a rule that perfectly covers every single situation. This is why we've tried to make an extended rules page, with varying degrees of success--but again, infinite situations with infinite possibilities. The situation that happened resulting in this change was perfectly fine to utilize, with proper context and motivation and in an isolated area. The antag was a single swarmer that had isolated itself from the rest of its allies and was surrounded by enemies--an already doomed individual. There's not always going to be a perfect 'get out of jail free' card to every situation, especially if you fail to think it through before blindly charging in. Nor should there be, for that matter. -
Suggestion: Changing of Rule 0 exception regarding pipes.
Spacemanspark replied to Rurik's topic in Suggestions
Yes, we very often just change server rules on a whim to justify admin wrong doing. Shit, we've been busted boys, get out the admin bom- Are you fucking kidding me. No. This action could have been carried out by a player with the same result. The situation it was used in showed us that the rule needed fleshing out, and we moved to adjust it. It was discussed by staff and head admins alike and agreed upon for the most part (Kyet being the exception, obviously). Perhaps there could have been more community input on the matter before it was placed in, but saying it was made to give an admin a 'get out of jail free' card is so unbelievably uncalled for--especially when you take in mind that this was drakeven, an admin that actually goes out of their way more often than most to encourage roleplay and interesting situations. Please watch what you're accusing staff of. Or anyone, really. -
We do not need departmental security.

In the past, we've allowed ghosts to do very minor things that seemed to impact very little. The best example I can conjure up is the ability to spin chairs around. Naturally, many players found ways to abuse the potential of the system and cause all sorts of meta issues. It was eventually removed. As much as I enjoy the boo! verb, I sometimes feel like even that can be a bit much. Not to mention the spectral blade (fuck that thing, lord). As interesting as the idea is to have some sort of communication with the beyond... we, unfortunately, cannot place enough trust that the system won't be used to ruin other players rounds.

We generally crack down on special snowflake mary sue characters if they're overbearing. That said, not having a genetic disability is not an immediate hallmark of a mary sue or a powergamer. What makes a character goes beyond having a 20% chance to have a disability. Forcing that onto players won't be fun for the mass majority of them that are subjected to it. The 'year is xxxx' argument goes both ways, too--while some things seem outdated, we have the ability to make full body clones, build literal artificial intelligence almost trivially, make rifles that fire laser beams, make and implant/ place mechanical limbs/ internal organs that function near perfectly to their organic counterparts... you get the idea.
