Not sure if anyone mentioned this. If you get a surgery done without painkillers you get a red text message that says "THE PAIN IS SO MADDENING YOU FEEL LIKE YOU MIGHT PASS OUT" How hard would it be to add a mechanic that literally just makes people pass out from the pain? Also sort of like the idea of being in a bit of pain after surgery regardless of of you were put out or not. Fairly normal after being cut open. Even if you are "super tough" and can bear with the pain of the surgery, you'd still be in pain while recovering. It'd give painkillers a more normal use. Done with surgery? Here's some antibiotics and painkillers.

I feel bad for Lucy I love being her Blueshield and defending her eating habits.

I can see the LRP crowd fighting this to the death but I love it. Add the chance of failure that doing surgery on a non surgery table has when not using some sort of painkiller or sedative It would make it so not as many people (if any) can say "don't worry...I'm tough...I can handle the pain" when I'm literally cutting thier ribcage or skull open with a freaking saw... I'm even guilty of it myself when I'm an important role in a busy round but realistically even if the HOS or Captain being asleep for a few minutes on a surgery table does lead to mayhem, isn't that sort of the reward for breaking thier ass? The round will eventually end and a new one begin, life moves on. Pretty sure most of us would have a hard time with just the incision being made... Curious if drunkenness does already act as a painkiller, like, code wise. Be hilarious to see drunken patients going through a surgery.

I don't see the point in a slight nerf if what you are proposing still leads to you dying but just with an extra click or two. Sounds like alot of work for nothing. Only way I'd see it helping you in these encounters is the split second it might give you to scream for help before dying, but you can't even do that your headset is fried anyways. This honestly just sounds like players who are tired of dying and believing that nerfing the most effective method used to kill them will make them feel better about it. Will getting EMPed and then robusted to death immediately after actually make you feel better about dying? You'll have this new outlook on dying of "Well, this was more enjoyable because it didn't take just one hit" Dunno about you but whether I die instantly to EMP, I get stunned and then beaten to death, or killed by some method that IPCs are immune to, it still feels the same to me. I feel helpless, and I think "I hope someone finds me, I hope my killer doesn't destroy or dispose of my body."
-
If EMP gets nerfed then make it so every IPC has to go to robotics for repairs. No more welders and cable coil. Make it so nanopaste and other chems are required to fix thier damage. No more popping limbs back on on any table with no tools. I do play both an IPC AND a human with a mechanical heart. EMP doesn't need to be nerfed.
-
On the note of the drunkenness. I've used an EMP flashlight on an IPC target AS an IPC. Using the flashlight is strong enough to make you experience drunkenness for a moment. The other IPC went boom.

There was a post like this recently without the voting and I'll say the same thing I said there. No other race can have have limbs reattached pretty much anywhere with no tools, no other race can be healed with items as common as a welder and cable, and no other race can be more easily revived regardless of how long they've been dead (no limb decomposition, no need for complex medicine that isn't always readily available). Also completely immune to disease. Every race has weaknesses. Some can't be cloned, some take more damage, some need oxygen and can bleed to death. EMPs wreck electronics. IPCs guts are made of electronics. I'd be for adding some sort of EMP armor...possibly made by science? An implant maybe? Something xeno can make that applies to armor like heat protection? Both? If we can EMP shield cameras why not apply the same tech to IPCs?

Will it work on my snofleks mechanical heart? I don't want it to. If this came into existence I'd also like to see something similar to being healed with something as common as welders and cable coil and the ability to have limbs reattached on any table with no tools for all other races. I know...SMART organics would make sure they constantly have medical supplies on them and a hemostat in case they lose a limb.

Welcome aboard! Glad to hear Some people are helping you out. Don't be bothered by the ones who don't. Some don't have the capacity or patience to understand that not everyone has played the game for a long time. We all were new once.

All pictures you create in response to this post now require the header from Starship Troopers ???

Am I the only one who thought of Starship Troopers when reading the title? Does Sax enjoy playing fetch OR What is Sax's favorite toy? Any excuse for more pictures of corgi

Also hurts things balance wise. This would give cultists even more time to teleport out of custody before being de-converted. It would get to the point where it becomes common to KOS cultists once we know they can teleport. In changeling rounds, officers would be required to carry around a scalpel and saw to behead any changelings they kill on the closest table as it would take too long to drag them to surgery or the cremator. I don't see the benefit of making security, which is already struggling to maintain a solid base of experienced players, even more difficult and less attractive to play. Not sure why I'm argueing this. There is obviously enough push back so this will never come to be. Good luck.
-
There will also be more greytide forcing security to drag them to the brig solely to waste more of thier time. Anyone who thinks this is a good idea, go into the far bottom right corner of sci maint and walk to the brig. Then do it over and over again. Dozens of times. Once you get bored apologize for supporting this lol If this was employed I'd powergame by either carrying a roller bed with me to buckle cuff people to, or the materials to build a wheelchair. This is just a time sink for the sake of realism that will hurt an already too busy department, sec, and make it take longer to get criticality I injured or dead people to Medbay for treatment, removing people from the round longer.

Missed that part ? So we are just trying to get the wording fixed. I thought this was being brought up because of some issue it caused in game. I'll step aside.
-
Doesn't say anything about a major crime, just a crime. I can tell you from experience processing countless traitors, this grey area has literally never been an issue for me. Traitors are either use items that aren't classified as contraband, hence they cannot be deemed a traitor based on what they have on them or they are loaded to the gills with high level stuff that undoubtedly classifies them as an EOC. That or they committed a perma-able crime regardless of thier equipment the equipment just makes the sentence more cut and dry without argueing what crime they may or may not have committed.
-
Was this merged? Can you link the nerve? This sounds neat. I will now require an exosuit fabricator in brigbay so I can augment officers ???

If you got banned you should be getting a message when you try to log into the server saying who banned you and why. If you WERE banned...go here: https://nanotrasen.se/forum/55-unban-requests/ Copy the template, go into Pending, start a new thread, paste the template, fill it out the best you can and submit. If you don't know what to put in one of the fields just write N/A or I don't know. The admins will work with you from there. Good luck.

Honestly security is usually so busy I don't really deal with crimes that require gathering evidence unless it's something really important like a murder. If it's some sort of a he said she said crime that isn't even a major offense, I'll just let them off with a warning and tell them to stay out if trouble. Its not worth the time spent investigating or argueing with the accused. Don't have time for it cuz there us too much other stuff going on, and it helps improve that person's view of security cuz I'm giving them a break. Completely legal per space law too. Security (or anyone else who sentences people), at thier discretion, is allowed to let off anyone with a warning or parole regardless of the crime. Can literally even do this for crimes that would constitute throwing them in perma, tho I don't for perma-able crimes. It's not a matter of not WANTING to do it, it's a matter of needing to prioritize things
