  1. Right. Let me clear up some information here as a closure note. As per usual as of late, i was observing around, doing my mentor duties. This fellow right here, Occultimate, sends a question. Saying he requires help. I ask him what is wrong, and jump to him. First thing i see, is a dead monkey on the floor of security. He mentions that he was killed for no reason by a security officer. Remontoire. I send a message towards Remontoire's way, which is in fact the warden. As to why he killed the monkey. He answers my PM with the fact that the monkey waltzed into security, weapon in hand. He then answered with terminating the monkey and recovering it's gear. From there, i inform Occultimate that his death, may it be against Space Law under animal abuse to the worst of cases, is not up for staff intervention. I then message Remontoire. I hint to him that our monkey friend may in fact be sentient for having done this stuff, and suggest bringing the monkey corpse to Genetics in order for a possible cloning and re-humanizing of the subject. This is all done in courtesy for the player Occultimate to have a second chance at life. Occultimate then proceeded to argue. After a while of arguing, he seems to not understand my point. He calls me a Badmin, tells me i am allowing grief on ''My'' server for not applying the rules.. You get the idea. From then, he is only insulting a staff member which attempted providing him help and guidance. This is where our Head of mentors jumps in. He warns the user about his behavior towards a member of his staff, and reinforces my point. I believed that was going to be the end of that case. I then hop quickly on the forums to see this posted. Now, i thought he was going to maybe cool down and understand our point. This is, after all, a game. That was, after all, a single round in a game of 2D spaceman, must i precise. If you wished to do a formal complaint, you would of done so in the appropriate forum section. But it appears you do not wish to understand the situation. It appears you only wish to think about you and yourself, and how YOU have to be in the right. This thread is a sole example of this. I can understand by how you ended your thread that you do not wish to play on our server anymore. Well let me tell you. You are not the kind of player we want. I will see about getting you the appropriate ban for your behavior.
  2. Interesting! War Declaration : Whom exactly will be able to declare war? Will it be the head of the nation? Will it be by a vote of the nation? Shared radio channels : That's interesting. Intrigued to see how that'll work with Tcomms. Guilt Debuff : By lethals, i guess this will include any kind of harm? Also, this brings me to a point. How about a scoring system at the end of round. Of course, the nation with all flags win. Or maybe this could be a change to that. The more the lethal takeovers, the more deaths caused by people of your nation, the less the points maybe? A whole system could be thought out of this!
  3. I am not so for this suggestion. Tcomms is what it is. The living quarters are just fluff. It's not really setup to house employees. The turrets are setup to prevent intrusion. For a reason. Having an employee work there would mean disabling vital security systems. There's no real atmospherics system. No medical ward. No nothing to house employees, as mentioned before.. It would require Telecoms to be reworked and remapped. And in my opinion, it's not worth it.
  4. Quick question here. What's so important about having a lethal Gygax? First off, roboticists /aren't/ supposed to have any kind of security mechs. At all. The only reason they'd have one is whilst waiting for the proper authorities to come and pick it up. Otherwise? It may well be considered contraband by Security. Gygaxes should be built upon security request and at LEAST Research Director approval. They're then to be stored and locked in security for future uses, if required. Now. Let's say the station goes into Code Red. There's an immediate threat. That shiny Durand chassis you kept? It's time to build it up. This is where lethal weaponry is required.
  5. Oh. Hello there. Going through costums? Sure Just, fill that paper right there.. Oh.. Forgot.. Administration fees. *hands in EFTPOS* Hi! Welcome to the Nanotrasen Recruitment Centre!.. Sure, just fill this paperwork and.. Oh! You have to pay your signup fees. *Hands in EFTPOS* Welcome to the greasy griever. We serve free beers and basic water for the sissies.. What's that? Want a specialty? That'll cost you.. *Hands in EFTPOS* People can be evil without any effort. All it takes is a bit of willpower
  6. That would be really nice! I myself enjoy setting up a localhost server and test the new stuff out. Found a few things and reported them. Having a subforum where people would ask me to specifically break stuff? Yes please!
  7. There's one time i like having a mutiny. And it's when i don't have to give a single damn about it. Central Command Internal Affairs. How may this unit assist?
  8. I believe they are attempting to make the Gygax more of a security force mech. As in, non-lethal. The red armory has a Gygax with flashbangs and taser weaponry. Presumably for riot control. Whilst the gamma armory, on the other hand, has a lethal Durand. So the idea is to make Gygax = security and Durand = military. At least i believe so. Correct me if i'm wrong!
  9. That would be fine, its basically a classier version of a civilian anyway sorta like a Librarian. Just to make sure this is clear, the Librarian is actually considered crew. Whilst a civilian is not. Same would go of a tourist. That has certain impacts, and may have more in the future. (Emphasis on may!). The best you can get right now, is for the NT rep/HOP to retitle your ID to Tourist and get fancy clothes from the Autodrobe!
  10. It's come to my understanding that many hate the Nations gamemode for many issues. I'll present a handful of them, and possible changes to tackle said issues. It's nations. The simple fact that it's a game mode. It's not in the spirit of SS13. It's not in the spirit of players. Space law is completely void. Rules are hardly applicable, since there's many factors, confusing decisions. It's just not developed enough or thought-out enough to properly be a game mode. The only "Fix" i could see to this issue? Removing the game mode from rotation. Doing so will force the administrators to change the game mode to that in the lobby if need-be, warning everyone, giving them time to just get out or observe before roundstart. Everyone rushes/it's a deathmatch/Brigston too stronk All of those issues center to a single aspect of nations. The flags. How to win nations? The flags. Gather them all. This will make people go irrational, forget all role play, forget the law, forget any kind of anything preset in any other game modes that prevent them from immediately going anarchy. Remove the flags. Let nations be an extended round with a major twist. Departments apply space law to their departments. Territories have to be negotiated. Treaties have to be made. rules can fully apply, as it's deemed extended. Everyone's happy. People can play without anarchy! Brigston too stronk!/Telesci too powerful!/NERF CHEMISTRY! Certain departments, especially security, have gear and access that makes this game mode somewhat unfair for the lesser-knowing player. People just don't wish, or don't know, how to tackle said issues. Now, there's no clear fix to this. Really. Sure, someone could spend an awful lot of time making access and items nerfed or equalized for this game mode. But it would be much more tedious than easier "Fixes" That could be applied to this specific game mode. What are your thoughts? How should nations be handled?
