  1. If you want faster/real time feedback, have you considered joining the discord? Coder Chat should have some spriters online that can help you/give you tips.
  2. Gentleman clown vampire leaves a letter behind at the scene of the crime.
  3. Consensus is that science is the overpowered antag department, right? Giving engineering something else to go for it isn't the worst thing ever.
  4. Do you know how code red says people should stay in their departments yet they gladly wander maint even with cult and shadowlings around? Do you know how maint access is completely pointless because everyone has it? Do you know how the station usually goes to code red and never comes down because there's no downsides to it at all? I think I've found a solution for all three problems at once. Let me elaborate: Make it so doors that grant access to maint work differently based on the alert level. At green or blue, they do not require any access at all to open, so that everyone can use them. But when the alert is raised to red, they require maint access to open. At the same time, we could remove maint access from civilians, science and other jobs that have no legitimate reason to go into maint. They can still go greytiding in maint on green or blue, but on red it becomes a lot more inconvenient for them. It gives maint access a reason for existing, makes red alert actually inconvenient so as to discourage having it on constantly and should limit the amount of assistants lurking in maint when there's shadowlings that "just so happen" to be converted. What do you guys think? Edit: In an emergency that requires general access to maint like a blob in maint, you could still grant emergency maint access, which is I believe a function that's rarely if ever used?
  5. I'd be more worried about the blob to the left. (or is that the joke?)
  6. Sending them through the gateway should be only if they volunteer, IMO. Same as being borged.
  7. You could probably get them the red reminder text that collaborators get about not being an antag and self-antagging rules still applying.
  8. I disagree with the assessment that welding a door is somehow 'harmful' to the door. If anything, I'd expect 'harm' to the door to be actual damage. It is simply unintuitive, changing how things work for no good reason. Even mentorhelp didn't know how to weld a door when I asked, which shows this is causing considerable confusion in the playerbase. Besides, airlocks are welded far more than they are repaired, IMO. If anything, airlock repairing should require something like opening the maintenance panel first.
  9. Slot machines were changed to lose you money, weren't they?

    Id Shredder

Can't you just...remove all access from an ID, then set the name to unknown and the account number to 0? That would be the same as somehow 'recyling' an ID. If unneeded IDs are accumulating in the HoP office, then just wipe them like that and stick them in the spare ID box.
  11. I mean, the Bluespace Artillery hardly rewards any department (or even gets used), and the satellite shield most of the time does nothing. Hmm, how about anomaly cores or something to let science get research levels they normally can't reach? Say...perhaps the disaster was caused by a bluespace quake or whatever and they are sending back the resulting scan, which then lets the station get Bluespcae Research 7? Alternatively, a medigun could be very neat.
  12. Humanitarian Crisis A nearby planet/space station is suffering from a natural disaster and urgently requires aid. NT has taken a contract to supply said aid, now it falls on the crew to provide it. To fullfil this goal, you need to sent to CC via the cargo shuttle the following items (mostly in boxes) X calories/points worth of meals, giving the chef and botany something to do. Y points worth of medical supplies/medicine, provided by chemistry. 2 Oddys, for search and rescue. 2 Ripleys, for construction work and rescuing people from under rubble. (can probably extend this list quite a bit more) Now, I don't how how the cargo shuttle code works but it shouldn't be that hard to have it detect those things being sent away on the shuttle and adding them to a total, right? Maybe send a fax to the bridge with a running tally of how many points/etc were delivered and how many are still lacking.
  13. All those toxins sound like they would be pretty powerful. As such, I don't think they should be this easy to make. Take for example That's three clicks and it's done. Powerful toxins should at the very least require advanced chemicals that themselves have requirements to make, special temperatures, etc. At least, in my opinion.
  14. "If the gateway is safe." aka if the gateway is boring, people can enter? But when it's interesting and challenging you're going to lock it away to only let regulars that have been on the server for months join in on the fun?
  15. Making Gateway explorer a karma job would mean the HoP can no longer make other people into Gateway explorers without faxing CC. Which will just lock the vast majority of people out of ever entering the gateway or encourage them to break into the gateway.
  16. The Chemist is busy the first 20 minutes of the shift. Then he has made all the medicine he could possibly need and goes to cryo because he's bored. At least most of the time.
  17. Can't they just...ask the chemist for them, like the rest of medbay when they need medication?
  18. Don't make it hard to turn on, make there be serious consequences for having it turned on. Make the cargo shuttle take longer, or make CC reject deliveries for points (You have a serious issue that effectively requires martial law and you just keep mining and sending us stuff back?) or something else that will seriously hurt the station's productivity.
  19. This may be a radical idea but...how about adding an automated turret or two to the gateway room? Officially to contain any hostiles coming through, but it could also deter greytide. And of course those with the gateway explorer job have full rights to be there and won't be stunned.
  20. We all know that leaving trash around encourages vermin to spread. How about trash and blood has a chance to spawn spiderlings?
  21. There is nothing to make Slimes immune to surgery pain, and that wasn't intended, either. Species that are immune to pain have the NO_PAIN flag, but slimes aren't among them. They (should) feel pain like everyone else and thus suffer the failure chance.
  22. Seconded. I often don't check my Karma after a round and then wonder what I did three rounds later when I suddenly have a few more. I mean, sometimes you can pretty clearly tell what you got it for, but other times it's nearly impossible.
  23. Looks perfect to me. Thanks for reacting this quickly.
  24. The closet in the corner is so far rather useless, aside from imprisoning EN when he gets annoying. It's lacking many of the things you usually find in department closets. Namely, I think it should contain Spare Science Headsets. Otherwise, roboticists that lose theirs or are reassigned need to break into scichem or something to get them from there. Backpacks and/or Dufflebags. Same reason as above, plus I like to put the surgery tools in containers rather than having them clutter things up. It shouldn't be such a big change and bring the closet in line with other department closets, which always contain stuff like department headsets. Plus, I've never seen anyone wear the hats in that closet, or anything else from it aside from the HUD.
  25. Title of Event: Reality TV Madness Pretense: Greetings NSS Cyberiad. We are happy to announce that you have been sold by Nanotrasen to one of its sister companies, EntertainCorp. EntertainCorp is the leading producer of reality TV shows, holodramas, soap operas and many other exciting entertainment products. And you, yes you have been selected as the subject of our newest reality TV show, called 'A hundred monkeys and a very small metal box in hard vacuum'. Don't worry about the name, we have to draw in the viewers somehow. For now, just go about your day while we watch and record. We will occasionally send you orders either via fax, announcements or even secretly per PDA messages, to make things interesting. You are to follow those orders to the letter. Your contracts with Nanotrasen carry over, including the execution clauses. Also, did we mention you can all win fabulous prices if you entertain our viewers? Equipment Necessary: A few prices for the crew to win. Briefcases of cash, stuffed toys, dangerous weapons and space suits. Anything, really. Maybe also spawn a 'moderator' with a tape recorder and all-access ID to come aboard and interview people for the viewers. Plot: The station is being turned into a giant reality TV show. The admins should give the crew and station orders via fax, CC announcement or PDA messages. Things like 'we want the captain to heroically lead the attack on the blob, it would look really nice to see him lead the security forces. Oh and no pesky helmets please, we want the viewers to see the faces of their heroes'. Or 'each department must keep their pet alive while stealing the pets of the other departments, whoever wins gets a box with prices'. 'We want to show our viewers a duel between you and X, go challenge him' sent via PDA to someone. Basically, just have the 'producers' create drama and tension for their viewers, without care for what it does for the actual running of the station. Prize for Completion: People that impress the viewers and follow orders get rewarded with cash, diamons, stuffed animals and dangerous weapons and gear. Custom Sprites/OGG's None
