  5. There is a cyborg tool for this in the /tg/ database called "organ storage bag" (organ_storage). It's a great tool, I think we should have it. I will see if I can add this to my test server and if it doesn't have any conflicts, I'll try to open a PR for it!
  6. Welcome to Cargonia! This is a brief guide on what to do as a Cargo Technician (cargo tech or CT), intented for new players. Cargo is a small but essential department of the station. If it runs well, the entire station will benefit from it. Main responsibilities You have four jobs to do: Order and deliver crates Print and hand out items from the Autolathe Overwatch the Ore Redemption Machine (ORM) Handle disposals It might seem a lot at first but let's go over them step by step. Also don't forget that you are not alone - you have a colleague and your boss, the Quartermaster. Should you get lost anytime, ask them for help! Order and Deliver Crates Crates of goods can be ordered with supply points. Supply points are earned over time or by shipping specific items. Shipping Crates Go to Cargo Bay, west from the main office Drag a closed, preferably filled crate onto the shuttle (or use the conveyor belts) Close the airlocks and send the shuttle (see below) Shipping empty crates doesn't yield too much but it is a tradition to do it at the start of the shift. Later you can fill it with the following items for a tremendous amount of points: Supply manifest (they come with ordered crates, stamp them with APPROVED or DENIED accordingly) Technology disks (Scientists can bring them) Plasma sheets (obtained from the ORM, see below) Mutated botany seeds (you'll almost never get this) Now that we have points - and Cargo should always have points, what if an emergency situation kicks in? - let's move on to how to order crates and handle orders. There are two consoles in the Cargo Office area, the Supply Shuttle Console and the Supply Ordering Console. The latter is used by the crew to order things so let's focus on the former. Ordering Crates The Supply Shuttle Console is the heart of Cargo. It sends and calls the supply shuttle (with its corresponding Supply Control buttons) and you can accept or deny supply crates with it. A few tips: Never send the shuttle without checking Cargo Bay and/or asking if it is good to go. If someone is in the middle of loading it and you send the shuttle, you space your colleague, most often killing them with it. Never deny a crate without a good reason. People will usually order what they really need. If it seems out of place (insulated gloves for Medbay, supermatter shard for Security), ask your Quartermaster to review it. If it is a crate called ERROR_NULL_ENTRY, send a message to the Head of Security/Warden through your PDA and stay silent. Why? Because it's a syndicate (= antagonist) crate full of contraband items and, more importantly, someone just blew 140 points that cannot go unpunished. It's tempting to order 5 crates of pizza with 3 crates of corgis when you are bored and I wouldn't blame you for it. However, if you order something for yourself, try to check in with the Quartermaster (they'll almost never deny a pizza crate) and make sure there will be supply points left. It's also tempting to order things that "might come handy later". This is generally frowned upon and I'd rather you didn't do it either. This includes ordering insulated gloves (when the AI isn't rogue/engineering didn't ask for it), weapons (when there is no nuclear emergency/security didn't ask for it), space suit crate (this is almost never justified), you get the idea. The golden rule for how not to be annoying in this game is "just because you can, you shouldn't". It's also a good idea to put every order the console prints to the filing cabinet below it. This way you can keep a track of crates, who ordered what and when. It's rarely asked for, paperwork is not enforced on this server, but sometimes Security come over to check it. Delivering Crates The last part of this section is how to deliver crates. There are three ways of doing it: sending it through the disposals, with a MULE, and delivering it personally. Sending it through the disposals is the most preferred method - it's fast, safe, and efficient. Disposal units aren't simply trash bins, they form a complex system capable of sending items (and people) from one unit to another. (Though people can only end up in Cargo, they cannot be tagged.) Wrap a crate with a wrapping paper to turn it into a delivery crate Use the destination tagger in your hand, select the target office and click on the delivery crate with it Put it on the conveyor belt (the horizontal one) and click on the conveyor stick. Make sure there is no trash on the horizontal belt before you send the crate or it will be delivered with your shipment. If there are massive explosions on the station, the piping system can be compromised. In this case, MULEbots (but preferably, personal delivery) should be utilized. MULEbots are incredibly stupid and slow machines, preferred by some people... For unknown reasons. Never send two mules after each other to the same destination. They will get stuck and beep in the maintenance until the end of shift. This is a personal opinion but I suggest never using them at all. However, since this is a guide, I should include how to use them: Drag the crate on top of the MULE Set a destination on its control panel Send the MULE The last way to deliver crates is delivering them in person. Control-click the crate to drag it and run to your destination. This is probably your only chance to get out of Cargo a bit and look around on the station. The Autolathe The Autolathe is a machine that can print simple items. Insert Metal and Glass sheets into it then click on it to use it. People will stand in a queue to ask for items. You'll most often asked for buckets, beakers and construction tools (welding mask, screwdriver, multitool, and so on). While many items, especially the multitool and the welding tool can be used for nefarious purposes, you should almost never deny an autolathe request. Don't forget that your character doesn't know about "antagonists", it shouldn't expect everyone trying to hack airlocks or make makeshift weapons. My piece of advice is, just hand out everything unless it's clearly a weapon (speedloader, flamethrower, slugs). You can click on the windoor on the table to keep it open, then take the printed item from the Autolathe, press R and throw it on the table. This will not only save you from a hundred steps to and from the table but it will also give you the "oh this guy knows what he is doing" aura. The Ore Redemption Machine (ORM) If the Supply Shuttle Console is the heart of Cargo then the ORM is its backbone. Miners returning from the asteroid bring their ores to the ORM which smelts them into usable sheets. Minerals are mostly used by Scientists, Roboticists, and Engineering. There isn't much to do about the ORM if you are new. You can use it to dispense Metal and Glass sheets for the Autolathe or Plasma sheets for supply points (see above) - make sure there are at least 30 sheets of plasma left if you use it for supply points. The only thing you should look out for is people wrenching it. The ORM can be moved by wrenching it then dragging it around like a crate. Some people do it after flushing themselves down the disposals (see below) to get out quickly. Good lord is it annoying, but the most you can do is to make sure the ORM gets back to its place. If the ORM gets stolen or destroyed, it can petrify the entire station. Luckily, it almost never happens. Disposals The disposals system isn't only for sending items but also for what the name suggests - handling the trash. People flush down the weirdest things (including other people) and you have the thankless job to sort it out. While you don't have to do it, it can be very rewarding. This section can be entirely skipped but I suggest reading it. Tips: Stand next to the trash pile and alt-click it. A "floor" tab will appear on the top-right where you can inspect dozens of items without freezing your client. Sometimes you can find weapons, headsets or even IDs in there. It's NOT for you to keep - if it's something illegal or related to Security, notify Security immediately. Sometimes people flush down themselves to unstuck themselves or to run from security. If you hear security screaming about it, do NOT let out the person who comes in. Let out everyone else. It's an annoying job to do but they can get out with other methods and you sure don't want that. Once you are done with sorting out trash, pull the conveyor sticks to send the trash into the delivery chute. The conveyor belt sends things to "Disposals". It's a small room in the maintenance. Go to the supply shuttle, open the yellow airlock to the north (called "Cargo Bay Maintenance") and head to the west. It is very important to keep the conveyor belt turned off here as this place can kill, even permamently kill people. The Recycler turns certain items into ores and sends it to the stacking machine. If Cargo is really low on minerals, you can use the green console on the wall to retrieve some sheets from it. There are two buttons just next to the mass driver. The "Disposal Vent Control" opens and closes the blast door - open it to move the non-recycable trash on top of the mass driver, then use the "Mass Driver Button" to eject it into space. Don't forget to close the blast doors and turn off the conveyor belt after you're done! That's it. It might seem a lot to do at first, but as I said before, rely on your colleagues! Cargo is a usually close-knit department, probably the most accepting and welcoming workplace on the entire server. You cannot mess up too much, you can learn a great deal about the game and you can easily make friends here. I can only recommend CT for a new player, be it a new player to the server or to the entire game.

  11. I was a brig physician that round and just finished cutting all (but three) cameras at the brig. ALL OF THEM. It was tiring as heck. I went to the warden's office and sighed. [Security] Naar-Dromn-Viisk says, "Finished cu-utting all the cameras." The next moment a singulo charged at me with light speed. I prayed I was just imagining things, thinking we were in a radiation field. We were not. That report hahahah.

  13. Ooh I see! Yes it is very rare to have no gravity + major hull breaches without a shuttle being called... It wouldn't worth the effort to code this for such niche scenarios. And I don't really want anything unrealistic added by me. Thanks for the clarification!
  14. Adding relationships to characters can be done though it's a huge project. (Another server has it.) I really, really love this idea but I'm afraid it is so complicated to code that we will never see it ingame - unless it catches a coder's attention. However, if there are any ways I can help, I'll be here for it. Knowing everyone's voice immediately (save for the clown's) always bugged me. It'd be terrific to see this implemented.
  15. Edit: Disregard this. Proposal: Make jetpacks work indoors just as they work in space. Reason: If there is a breach indoors, it is quite difficult (or in most cases, impossible) to get from a depressurized room to a semi-pressurized one without magnetic boots or someone throwing you across the room. I believe if you had an active jetpack, it could serve as a substitute for magnetic boots. Why would it be a good idea: Jetpacks in the EVA room are rarely used while the magnetic boots are (almost) always looted. During meteor storms/nukies or rounds with major hull damages, this could let two more crewmembers safely move around. Why it might NOT be a good idea: Miners can buy their own smaller jetpacks, effectively arm cargo (or their antagonist teammates) with ghetto magnetic boots. This might be a balance issue or a welcomed help for the supply department - I am not quite sure. What are your thoughts? Also, would it be realistic? I will be honest, I am not quite sure how jetpacks work in vacuum and in depressurized/pressurized areas. Edit: If they were used indoors, their gas draining rate should be drastically upped for balance.

  17. I prefer this solution over the others. Science getting any more buff is a huge no for me, that department is already powergamey enough. If plasmamen don't catch on fire instantly, it'll make their cloning easier and it might solve the changeling/shadowling issue too. I would like to see this ingame. Them being easily noticable shouldn't be changed though I think. Vox cannot morph successfully either (with genetics, they can as a changeling) and especially on lowpop, these races are rare. If you are a lone vox/plasmaman, expect to go loud! I think it's a fair price for having a softsuit at start and not having to deal with internal bleeding. Speaking of internal bleeding: look at the new bone-repairing traitor item! Injuring loud antags is probably the best way to deal with them (as most of them are unable to be subdued) because you can cause IB + broken bones which both require surgery. Plasmamen cannot get IB and now they can fix broken bones too. @bigfatbananacyclops is one of the most powerful antagonist I've seen on this server and he usually rolls plasmaman. I can only think of Cosmos and Chloros for now but I feel like I'm forgetting a third regular plasmaman antagonist... Check out how they operate, they make a very, very good use of their race and now that they can heal their bones - boy, I'm looking forward to their new gimmicks. Also make them emit an awful smell!
  18. I really like these suggestions (cropped the quotes a bit). Vox: This will be probably an unwelcomed opinion but I'd really, really love to see the brain transplant option for the Vox to be removed. It makes absolutely no sense that their brain can get used to an entirely different body, without the help of the cortical stack that is responsible for - among many other things -, breathing. Defib them, SR them, use a replica pod and turn them into a diona but don't just throw their brain into a humanized stok and call it a day. It might be more of a high RP suggestion though... But I'd like to see the cortical stack not only being a mechanical weakness (against revenant/EMP/ion) but also having an RP-value too. Vox 2: As Zairral said, Vox without masks are now... eh... I understand it's only 20% of the air they breathe in that is toxic for them but the damage they take is nonsense. The basic healing virus can entirely remove the need of a mask + nitrogen tank as well. IPC: Oh god please accept this PR in this form or another. I haven't played an IPC for months now but these guys need a buff. Grey: The above-mentioned fluorosulphuric immunity - well, I'd say, resistance and not complete immunity, but either works. They can already be taken down with your nearest fire extinguisher, it'd be nice if they survived at least the fluorosulphuric acid clouds. Drask: GLOWY SPIKES! And more of a darksight would be great, especially since they are a mainly underground species. (There isn't much to live for on the surface on Hoorlm...) But I'd be incredibly happy with a tiny bit of glowing animation alone. Gosh they are cool. Slime People: Emphasize more that they are made of water. The two suggestions above are great.
  19. Let's see... Modafinil: It works quite differently than Cafe Latte. Cafe Latte wakes you up from sleeping as long as you have a unit in you and heals Brute damage. Modafinil reduces stun, knockdown, unconsciousness times and heals stamina damage at a hilariously low metabolization rate. It's practically our Meth without brainloss, with half its metabolization rate and without the speed buff. Feels waaay too strong for me but I'm not good with balancing. Morphine: There is a way to make morphine - Botany and they can mass produce it. (Or order it from Cargo but eh...) I've never seen Medbay running out of Morphine (especially if you turn it into Hydrocodone, as you get 60u Hydrocodone for 30u Morphine) but even if you do, you can give Botany a job - I would love to keep it this way. I usually order morphine from Botany as a Roboticist as well for the rest of the species I have to borg/implant that I cannot put under. Cryptobiolin: Not sure why would we need it, our Spaceacillin is made of space fungus + ethanol and cryptobiolin only causes confusion. But if you want to keep it for the confusion, then I guess we could have it? Royal Bee Jelly: We have it with this exact recipe, however it is currently bugged, it doesn't split the queen for some reason (I tried it). That's why it is not on our wiki. Chlorine Hydrate: Sounds almost exactly the same as Ether except for the confusion+death part. I... am not sure if I wanted to see this ingame. Feels like it'd be overused for kidnapping - unless, well, it requires 10+ units to metabolize, but then who would use it and for what purpose? I can only think of cultists and dragging off people to the nearest teleport rune. If it is a slow-acting anesthetizer, Ether would be always safer (and it is about to get a buff as I've seen on Github). If it's too slow-acting for antags, antags won't bother with it - I think... Impedrezene: Pure mercury does almost the same but I have nothing against it. Mute Toxin: Perfluorodecalin does exactly the same, not sure if we need a second muting chemical... Lexorin: It feels like a super easy way to get Pancuronium (though Lexorin doesn't paralyse)... Not sure... If we were to have it, the recipe has to be much more complicated. Fentanyl: This is almost exactly our Neurotoxin. Pax: Sounds hilarious. We have this in the form of pure hugs but it's almost impossible to make so I'm down for getting this. Just change the mindbreaker toxin part. Synaptizine: We have it, it's called Haloperidol. Spewium: Jesus Christ hahahah I didn't expect anything like this. It feels like a too low-RP chemical for me but I have nothing else against it. I wouldn't like to see it personally but maybe others have a better sense of humour than me.

  23. These stories are sweet to read. Mine is way less serious and probably not that funny either, but I had a good laugh at it. I noticed Krichahka setting up a room southwest of Medbay. It had a counter, a closet, a rack, two or three cannisters - my vox senses tingled. That's a shop. I immediately told them to wait and I ran back to Botany to get some goods to trade with. Apparently, Krichahka was selling O2 and N2 tanks, premium quality. I had no idea what it was, my vox had no idea what it was, but we both knew we had to get one. I went back to the store, only to see the first customer was already served. Damn, I was slow, there will be surely no discount for me. Kirikachiya says, "Hms" Kirikachiya says, "Hihi" Kirikachiya says, "How much voxygens for..." I put a rice hat and a monkey cube on the counter. Kirikachiya asks, "Hats and monkeys?" Krichahka was immediately on their chair. Krichahka asks, "You wanting Premium Quality?" Kirikachiya exclaims, "Yaya!" Krichahka says, "Oh, 500 per caniste-hmmm..." Oh no. It was a vox that traded with money. Cue short silence. But I was prepared. Kirikachiya says, "If not enoughs, can raisings" I had one more item in my backpack but I didn't want to play all my cards yet. I was not trading for the first time. Krichahka says, "HMMM... Hat, monkey AND 100 moneys and we is good" Kirikachiya shouts, "HUNDRED MONEYS!" Undoubtedly, my vox has no idea how much 100 credits worth. That's why she is constantly broke. It was time for the trump card. Kirikachiya asks, "How abouts... shoulder holsters?" Krichahka got off their chair, shuffled through some items in the back and remained silent. I was sweating nervously. That was my last thing besides my cultivator. And I loved my cultivator, I could scratch my back with it. But, it seemed, the holster worthed 100 credit. Krichahka says, "Deal." Or they took pity on me. Either of that. The premium nitrogen was probably exactly the same as the regular voxygen but it came in a smaller tank. ...and it was labelled as premium voxygen. I was a happy vox.
